  Our kids have been going to Chess Lab for over a year now. It’s a great gym! All the coaches are fantastic. Professor Kevin brings an elite level of Jiu-Jitsu teachings to the adult and kids classes.

  My 6 year old son has been taking BJJ classes for about 6 months now and LOVES it! All the instructors and staff have been more than helpful with any questions or concerns I’ve had and show genuine love of the sport and helping the students grow. I highly suggest to anyone considering taking classes to take the leap!

  This gym has a great professor and staff.The facility is clean and provides changing rooms, restrooms, weights and fitness equipment. I've been consistently coming into this gym for about two months, members of this gym are quite skilled and assist in training a noob like myself. Professor Kevin does a great job at teaching new skills and always provides feedback when myself or another student is struggling with a new move. I've been developing my skills here and look forward to potentially competing. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in the sport.

  I started my journey here with this team 2 years ago. The progress I’ve made has been incredible. When I first walked in I thought this is not going to be for me. Little did I know that was the beginning for a sport I love now. Under the watchful eyes of the instructors I have transformed into a new person. I walk around with more confidence in knowing what I can do. All of the instructors have a true passion for the sport. They each bring a different style to the game. I truly enjoy showing up to this gym every week knowing I’m better than what I used to be. The facility is top notch along with the entire staff. I encourage you to come and try out the program. You will leave impressed with not only the gym but what you are capable of doing.

When I first walked through the doors, I was a non-athletic, spazzy white belt with zero body awareness. Kevin’s highly technical teaching style and patient approach helped me transform into a blue belt, which feels nothing short of a miracle. Kevin’s expertise is evident in every class.   This is a great gym with expert instructors in a clean, safe and professional environment. Classes are structured to practice fitness, build basic foundation skills and demonstrate and apply an advanced skill each session. It's an excellent place for young children to learn about listening, sportsmanship and self-control.

  Was really confused on their new logo looked a lot like world renowned Checkmat! Looks like someone is scared of real competition in town! Well guess stealing intellectual property is okay! Also saying only gym in Gresham after Checkmat moved to near by Troutdale (TRD) is shifty to say the least as well as Technics! Low blow even for watered down American low level black belts!
