Amazing setting, fantastic environment and an all round lovely place to be. Inclusive and supportive for all ages and abilities. Give it a try because you won't regret it! All credit to the instructors especially for the kids classes!
Our daughter joined Fortitude BJJ Ipswich a few months back & we can honestly say that the care & attention she has received from the instructors & coaches has been incredible. It's a great club, lots of fun for all ages groups & the coaches really focus on what is needed in each & every child to help with their progression, can't fault it 👌🏻
You couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to train with. My jiu-jitsu gets better all the time and the social aspect of the club is great. My daughter recently started at the kids class and she loves it too. Do yourself a favour and come and try it out for yourself.
Amazing class for Children. Great for confidence. I would recommend this to anyone who wants their child to learn discipline and have fun.
I have trained at Fortitude BJJ for a couple of years and really enjoyed the classes. Gary and George are great instructors and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend giving it a go!
We’ve had a fantastic experience here. The team is incredibly friendly and professional, and they create a really welcoming environment for the kids. Our children absolutely love attending and have learned so much from their jiu-jitsu classes. It’s been great to see their confidence and skills grow. Highly recommended!
We had such a wonderful experience at Fortitude BJJ Academy. Both of my kids trained there for two years, and it has been an amazing journey for them. The atmosphere is friendly, supportive, and very welcoming — you can really feel the sense of community as soon as you walk in. The coaches are patient, encouraging, and truly care about the children’s progress, confidence, and enjoyment. My kids not only improved their skills but also grew in discipline and self-belief. Thank you to everyone at the academy for the great memories and all the hard work you put in every day. We wish you all the very best for the future and hope to join again one day! Iwona G-Z.
Can’t recommend this gym enough for training Jiu Jitsu. Gary and Liam are both highly knowledgeable and incredible instructors. The community around the gym is really inclusive and friendly to all backgrounds and levels of skill. If you’re feeling on the fence about starting, then absolutely give it a shot. No regrets whatsoever.
Posted 1 year agoGreat training. Great atmosphere. Great people. I cannot rate Fortitude BJJ enough. If you are looking to get started, or have been thinking about giving it a go, then give get in touch with Gary at Fortitude. You won’t look back. It felt like I had been part of the team for a while, from the moment I stepped barefoot on the mats with very little knowledge of BJJ. Everyone who goes is very supportive, welcoming, and keen to help you progress.
Posted 1 year agoDifficult to put into words how awesome this club is. As a 33 year old woman with no previous martial arts experience I’ve felt nothing but welcomed and supported by the coaches and other members from moment I walked through the doors, everyone has been fantastic. It’s a truly great club and sport and I’d recommend this place for anyone looking to give a new hobby a go! They offer the first week free so there’s nothing to lose, but be warned, it very quickly becomes an addiction! 🤙🏼
Posted 1 year agoI had my first ever BJJ, martial arts or fitness experience at Fortitude tonight. I’m quite a nervous person particularly with group activities but I have to say that turning up, because I nearly didn’t, was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The warms-up were fun and a great Icebreaker and I was paired with someone with experience called Matt, who paired with me, advised me and look after me the entire session. The demonstrations were easy to understand even if putting them into practice was harder than I expected. I decided to attend because of a slip in mental health and I left that gym feeling better than I have in a long time so to say I’d recommend it to friends, or anyone for that matter, is an understatement. 15/5 stars, can’t wait for next week. Thank you Fortitude BJJ team!y
Posted 2 years agoI have had 3 sessions with these guys and I can’t fault it. I’m new to grappling and everyone has time for you. I’m definitely the oldest at 60, so all are welcome, old or young. The instructors are approachable and informative and take time to break the techniques down. I wished I had of started years ago. Looking forward to my next session.
