I was really nervous about joining Fit Club because it had been so long since I'd been in that environment, it took me a while to pluck up the courage! I just wished I'd done it sooner! Every session is coach led and the coaches are all really supportive, encouraging, friendly and welcoming! I was told that other members are friendly and they really are - it helps enormously that it's such a friendly and warm community! I think I probably talk about Fit Club too much to my friends and family, so much so that my husband plans on signing up to the 6 week challenge - I'm just super happy that I joined and it's now a part of my routine! Thank you so much to Chris and the team!
Took the plunge of the 6 week challenge and v glad I did. Have enjoyed the vibe of the club, v friendly with excellent support from Chris and the whole team. Looking forward to continuing monthly membership and getting fitter
I’ve just completed my 6-week challenge at Fit Club York and honestly have absolutely no regrets! Just wish I did it sooner. As someone who hadn’t exercised in over 3 years and had struggled to stick with gyms in the past, I wasn’t sure how I’d get on — but this has been an amazing experience. My main goal was simply to feel stronger, and I can genuinely say I’ve achieved that in such a short space of time. The team are incredibly supportive, motivating and knowledgeable, and they’ve created such a welcoming environment. If you’re thinking about joining, I wouldn’t hesitate — do it! You won’t regret it.
I used to find gyms lonely and boring places, but FitClub has totally changed my view! Every single FitClub session has been lots of fun, the community is absolutely brilliant and I’ve felt included from day one. The personal trainers are all excellent and the sessions are varied and well thought through, so you feel appropriately challenged and proud of yourself afterwards. After a couple of months of regular classes I already feel stronger and fitter, which is hugely motivating and something I’ve never managed with other gym memberships. I’m hooked now and will be sticking around for long term 😁.
I joined the 6-week fitness programme at Fit Club York with my daughter Ruby, and we have both been so impressed with the experience. The personal trainers have been fantastic throughout. They are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and genuinely invested in helping people achieve their goals, whatever their starting point. The support we've received has made a huge difference to our confidence and motivation. Ruby has never really been a fan of exercise, so I wasn't sure how she would take to it. However, she has thoroughly enjoyed the classes and looks forward to attending each week. The trainers have created such a welcoming and positive environment that she has felt comfortable from day one. The atmosphere at Fit Club York is supportive, friendly and non-judgemental. It's a great place to train, meet like-minded people and work towards your fitness goals at your own pace. We've enjoyed it so much that we'll both be continuing beyond the initial 6 weeks. I would highly recommend Fit Club York to anyone looking for a fun, safe and supportive place to improve their fitness.
I was recommended Fit Club York by a friend who was going, and she wasn't wrong. I signed up for the 6-week challenge, and from the moment I stepped through the door, I instantly felt part of a supportive and inclusive community of people who are fully committed to doing their best and are not only encouraged and motivated by the coaches but also by each other. At no point have I felt, or been made to feel, that something is impossible, and there is a sense of equity when coaches make small adjustments to help me achieve a particular exercise. Their support is never patronising, always encouraging, and I look forward to my sessions at Fit Club so much that I've already signed up to continue.
I have been a member for several months now. They are an incredible gym and I really enjoy the sessions. I have arthritis is my hands which means some exercises can be challenging. However, the coaches are amazing at adapting the exercise so I can safely complete them. I have lost nearly half a stone in weight and my body is toning up. It is like having a personal trainer and I look forward to each session. The atmosphere at the gym is so welcoming and encouraging. I would highly recommend friends to join. Xx
I was feeling very unfit and felt like I couldn't trust my body. My back, hip and knee all felt like they might let me down especially when walking up or down stairs. I bought some weights to use at home but didn't touch them. Then my friend signed up to Fit Club and was really enjoying it. She was obviously getting fitter as well. I decided to sign up for the 6 week challenge. I was very nervous, especially when I found out you worked in pairs. I thought no-one would want to work with me but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The trainer made sure that I was doing everything correctly and I surprised myself by really enjoying it. Ive now become a permanent member and my family and friends have really noticed the difference in the way I move already. I have a lot more energy and have lost weight. Fit Club is not like a normal gym, it's supportive, friendly and encouraging and,I really enjoy it.
I joined the 6 week challenge just before Christmas as I was fed-up of the way I looked in my clothes and how I felt going to try on new clothes. The post-menopausal belly fat is a real struggle for me both mentally & physically. The whole experience of the 6 week challenge has been absolutely excellent - from my first chat with Chris to completing the challenge, I never thought that joining a gym would be so much fun! I have now joined full time and have seen lots of improvements to my strength, stamina, fat-loss and overall well-being. Thanks to Chris & Team!
UPDATE: I am now moving and leaving FitClub behind and can give a more complete review after 8 months of attendance. The coaches have wildly different styles and so the quality of a class can really differ based on whose leadership you connect with the most. Make sure you find someone who works for you and keeps you engaged. I feel that the boards can sometimes be lopsided, and it can feel limiting if you're looking to work out a specific area and don't have the opportunity over multiple sessions in a week or even longer. I have recently noticed a shift in priorities with increased marketing and renovations, and it seems like attention given to the actual classes has suffered a little bit. The classes are also circuit-training style, so they are good for cardio and probably slimming down, but not for serious weight training or real targeted approaches. Overall I'd still recommend for a beginner's intro to the gym that you can take other places eventually. I am at the end of the 6 week challenge and I've had a great time. I have never dreaded going to a session and I genuinely miss it if I don't keep up my routine. I started out as a beginner with basically zero experience and the coaches worked one-on-one with me for several weeks to make sure I was confident and keeping my form. Being paired up is great for motivation and I have almost always gotten along with my partners very well. It's hard to be self conscious when everyone else is working very hard on their own station, and when there is such a wide variety of people in the gym. The class times available and the booking system make it super easy to fit the gym into my schedule no matter what's changing week to week, and I like the option to work with different coaches depending on whose style I like the most, because they do each organize things differently. I have gotten significantly stronger in just a few weeks and I will happily be continuing at FitClub. There are plenty of modifications available if you start out at a lower level like I did, so there's really nothing to be nervous about-- if you are new to the gym I would recommend the challenge.
