In town for a work trip and dropped in for an evening class. Would highly recommend this gym to anybody from the seasoned vets to brand new people! Great environment with nice people. Thank you!
Posted 1 year agoCoach Emily apparently doesn't sleep, she's too busy improving the school each day- and Coach Mike still finds time to win gold medals while being one of the most patient, clear, and knowledgeable teachers out there. Massive respect for the integrity, inclusion, open-mindedness, and expertise that is fostered and maintained at Egley! You don't learn this stuff overnight, slow is the fastest way to get there- so the team that guides you along the way is crucial; to celebrate milestones, help carry you through the doubtful days where motivation can't be found, and provide a community (the tide that raises all boats). Thank you everyone for all you do 🙏
Posted 1 year agoMy Cousin was training here and I was always curious about trying it. Joining Egley six months ago was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I walked in not knowing what to expect, and now I can’t imagine my life without it. The coaches are top-tier — knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in your growth. The community is something special too. From day one, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff and training partners who all want to see each other succeed. More than just learning Jiu Jitsu, Egley has helped me build confidence, discipline, and accountability in ways that have impacted every area of my life.
Posted 1 year agoMike Egley is a class act top level Black belt! Facility is extremely clean, members genuine, instructors approachable. Mike a not only a great instructor, elite competitor and amazing friend and family man. Idaho best Jiu-Jitsu!💯🇺🇸👊
Posted 1 year agoThis is THE place to train. I simply do not have enough words for how awesome and amazing the owners, coaches, and staff are. I joined the Muay Thai classes and was very nervous to do so. I was on a weight loss journey and hadn’t been remotely fit in a while. However coach Doug and Kenny and my class mates were super supportive and I learned so much. I lost 25 lbs in 2 months and felt better than ever and even made it to the advanced class after 5 months. If you stick with it, it truly is one of the best things you’ll ever do for yourself as you’ll make some amazing friends and learn some beneficial new skills.
Posted 1 year agoA large clean facility with a welcoming staff. Emily's assistance made coordinating my visit very easy and enjoyable.
My experience at Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu has been such a great experience. From the first day I walked into the doors and just wanted information, Emily was a huge help in answering any questions I had from the beginning. The grappling experience is everything I was looking for, the other athletes that train here are all tough and very friendly and approachable if you’re new and need help. The instructors are patient and very easy to talk to. You can easily tell they want everyone to succeed and that they care about their athletes.
Eagle Train Boise Jiu Jitsu Academy is top-notch! The first thing that stood out to me was the welcoming atmosphere. When I reached out about dropping in, I spoke with Emily, who was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home before I even stepped through the door. I arrived early and had the chance to watch the kids’ class. It was clear that the coaches genuinely care about their students. The kids not only demonstrated great skill on the mats, but also a strong sense of teamwork and support for each other—a sign of both great coaching and a strong academy culture. When it was time to train, I got to roll with a few of their athletes. They were technical, tough, and friendly—the perfect balance of skill and sportsmanship. As a 16-year seasoned grappler who has had the privilege of training all over the world, I can confidently say that Eagle Train is a fantastic place for anyone looking to grow as a martial artist. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, this is the kind of gym where you can level up in a supportive and high-quality environment.
Great teachers and great training.
A surprising experience I was expecting yoga but turned out even better was able to be uncomfortable and do some wrestling while I learned some jujutsu frist timer and it was awesome so much fun! Learned from some badass world athletes. I really missed wrestling and this place made it come true.
Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu has been an incredible experience for my 9-year-old. The instructors not only teach the technical aspects of Jiu Jitsu but also emphasize discipline, focus, and other important tenets of martial arts. The supportive environment and patient guidance from the coaches have helped my child grow both physically and mentally. I’ve been consistently impressed by their professionalism and dedication to each student’s development. If you’re looking for a school that balances skill-building with character development, I highly recommend Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu.
Excellent technical training. Great family atmosphere. I would highly recommend this school for Jiu Jitsu.
My first time rolling on a mat since high school wrestling (ten years) Coach Egley was super supportive and super patient with all the beginners that were there. Highly recommend stopping by experienced or not!
I love this place!! My first time there was amazing, this gym is the real deal with real deal World Champions training you every step of the way! I truly learned so much and it was only my first day! Hands down the best Jiu Jitsu gym you could join, beginners are more than welcome!
Phenomenal academy with expert instructors and a welcoming atmosphere. The training is top-notch, focused on real progress for all skill levels. A truly professional and supportive environment—highly recommend!
Egley is helping me with my anxiety. 2 years ago my best friend, girlfriend died in my arms from overdosing on fentanyl ever sense then I’ve just been down and have had few highlights but I found jiujitsu because of a friend KC I don’t plan on looking back! Join Egley it will help you too. I’ve been here just 2 months and yeah I feel better for the first time in a long time. Thanks
My daughter began the 4-7 yr old class at Egley. Coach Emily and Coach Anthony are amazing coaches. They are very patient and break things down so she is able to participate and train. If you are thinking of getting your child into jiu-jitsu, I highly recommend Egley Boise! Full of awesome coaches and staff. Very clean, friendly, and welcoming.
Signing up at Egley has been one of the best decisions. They helped me change my life from an extremely sedentary lifestyle to actually looking forward to being more active. What helped me understand a simple way to implement healthy habits in fitness and nutrition providing paper packets of meals, an easy app to follow and communication to keep me accountable. Group fitness training was fun and engaging. When you really want a lifestyle change, going to Egley is a great place to start because it is design in a way that is attainable.
I am new to my training and this place is amazing and treats everyone like family! Whether you're new or seasoned, this place is where it's at! I cannot wait for my boys to be old enough because I will definitely be bringing them to train here as well.
Dropped in from out of town and very welcoming!
Just finishing my first month at Egley Train Boise and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It has been a very inviting and fun experience. The coaches and the whole team have been great.
Such an amazing facility with incredible coaches. I was very intimidated to start as a beginner but everyone has been so kind and welcoming. Everyone takes care of one another and you can tell they really want to help you get better. It’s like joining a family. Truly cannot recommend this place enough
If you are seeking a community that fosters relaxation, stress relief, enjoyment, and a familial atmosphere, Egley Boise Jiu Jitsu is the ideal community for you. They provide a diverse range of activities that cater to all family members, from yoga to kickboxing, as well as thoughtful reminders to maintain focus on your fitness objectives. Their approach to accountability is positive and supportive, ensuring that any setbacks are viewed as temporary obstacles in your journey. I went into my 6-week challenge strong, hoping to get my energy and health back on track. Not even a week in, my health, as it has always done, stopped me from doing any physical exercise. This brought back my depressing thoughts of being young yet unable to improve my health to go back to work. Coach Mike supported me with encouragement, resources, and education about which micronutrients and time my body needs. Coach Anthony with his meticulous custom home workouts, weight, and meal checking, helped keep my ADHD in check For accountability 😊. And Emily, for her gentle checkups on my overall health. Egley Boise Jiu Jitsu, whose happiness is seeing you accomplish whatever goals you are seeking, defines the meaning of Idaho strong family and community values for all diverse backgrounds. Don't take my word for it. Stop by to experience this yourself. 🥰
I very much enjoyed working with Anthony. He created a workout plan tailored to me and my specific goals. Within 2 weeks I could see a change in my body. Very friendly and professional. He was always there to encourage me, keep me accountable and answer questions.
I've trained boxing and jiu jitsu at a handful of gyms across the country, and my experience at Egley has been the most consistently high quality. The coaches are all top notch with versatile backgrounds, and fully committed to both their craft and their students. Not only are the coaches great, but my fellow students have all been welcoming, supportive and committed to pushing themselves and each other to improve. Whether you're looking for a fun way to get in shape, want to learn self defense, or have dreams of competition podiums and gold medals, Egley Train is where you want to be!
Great coaches, people, atmosphere and the place is always spick and span. One of the best decisions I made in a long time was joining Egley Train.
I've been training at Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu for 2 months, and I can't say enough good things about this place! The facility is top-notch, always clean, and well-maintained. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making it an ideal environment for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The coaches are truly exceptional. Coach Doug, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every class, breaking down techniques in a way that's easy to understand. Coach Anthony is always patient and encouraging, pushing us to improve while ensuring we grasp the fundamentals. Coach Devon has a unique teaching style that keeps training fun and engaging. What sets this gym apart is the sense of community. Everyone here, from the coaches to the fellow students, is supportive and friendly. I've made great friends and feel like part of a family. When I first joined, I was overweight and worried about fitting in or keeping up. The coaches and members were incredibly supportive, and their encouragement has been invaluable. I’m still on my journey and still overweight, but training here has shown me that this is the way to change that. If I can do it, you can too! Whether you're looking to compete, get in shape, or just learn self-defense, Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu is the place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai!
Keeping it real here….In all honesty, Egley is where YOU WANT/NEED TO BE❤️👏🏽🎉🙌🏽 Michael Egley, lead me through one of their 6 week challenges( I’m on week 4 😉🤗) and said what was up! Emily Egley, was the amazing woman, that helped me initially, called me and we confirmed my appointment! She made the process so easy ✨ Anthony is a great help with his nutrition coaching and is very insightful. It has helped me go far! He’s also a jujitsu coach(I haven’t dipped my toe in that just yet…but I just might!). He sub coached my Muay Thai class awhile back, and it was a great workout! Coach Doug Collins is my Muay Thai/ Kickboxing coach and sheesh, that class is a good one 🥊 😅 Endorphins flowing immediately. You feel so POWERFUL 💥 !!! Plus it’s super fun and engaging! Along with all the other coaches, whom I have yet to meet(they all seem awesome! 😎), is is a great atmosphere! Come check it out! You won’t be sorry 🥇😌
Best place to start your jiu-jitsu career. Been going for a year and a half. Coaches are extremely helpful and spend the time needed individually to help you succeed! I'm extremely grateful for finding Egley Train Boise!
Came to visit Boise and trained with these guys, super friendly and welcoming people!
Great place! I started Muay Thai a few weeks ago having no previous experience. All the instructors are patient, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable! I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying it. Highly recommend!
This is a great gym! I had no experience in self-defense so I was nervous about starting something that was outside of my knowledge and comfort zone. Instructors and coaches are very kind and will work with you personally. Accountability piece is there with the daily check in via the app and the two in person meetings through out the program. I highly suggest taking both jiujitsu and striking classes as you can see two completely different forms of self defense for different situations you might find yourself in.
Love this place! Learning so much, and everyone is nice! Keep up the great work!!!
Amazing facility with knowledgeable staff! I love that they offer curriculums for adults and kids! Such a fun and friendly atmosphere. :)
Training at Egley has been one of the best experiences of my life. Everyone was so welcoming and the coaches actually show they care. It has become like one giant family. On top of that, I have lost 12lbs and am starting to feel like a whole new person. I'm so grateful that I decided to begin training at Egley!
Got to be a member here for 3 short months while my wife was on a travel nursing assignment: Incredibly welcoming, fantastic instruction and gym culture, and an awesome class schedule that provides phenomenal opportunities from first day white belts to upper belt competitors. Love this place.
Ive known Mike Egley since we where white belts. He's a big strong dude who can train with the smallest person in the gym with expert technique and skill. I trust his teaching and his understanding of jiu jitsu as well as his personal character. He's a great person and anyone in the area who wants to start or experienced martial artists looking to grow or compete couldn't ask for a better coach
This gym is amazing. Both me and my son attend classes. The coaches for the kids class have been amazing. The work with each kid and help them learn the moves and answer any silly questions the kids have! As for the adult classes, they work with you and make you feel comfortable with what you are doing. It has been life changing for us!
This Academy has literally changed my life! I’ve been consistently trying to find ways to improve my life as an adult in many ways for 20 years. I’ve done everything from business coaching, personal trainers, mentorship’s, and becoming a husband and now a father. They all got me another inch closer. Joining this gym has taken all of my prior experience and compounded it in a way that you could only understand by doing it yourself. My entire life is so much better! This gym is run by and attended by excellent, good and wholesome people! I highly recommend this place! If you’re not awesome this place will make you awesome, unless you quit… -Kory
The facility is nice and clean. The coaches are very kind, patient and supportive. The fellow students are friendly. Overall there is good comradery and a great "vibe."
I have been coming to Egley Train Boise for a little bit now and it has been an absolutely transformative experience. From day one, the atmosphere has been welcoming and supportive, creating a perfect environment for both beginners and advanced practitioners to thrive. The instructors are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable in the art of Jiu Jitsu, but they also have a genuine passion for teaching and ensuring each student achieves their personal best. The classes are well-structured, focusing on technique, strength, and endurance, while also emphasizing the importance of discipline, respect, and camaraderie among students. The academy thoroughly cleans the mats and emphasizes on hygiene so everyone may have a healthy experience. I've noticed significant improvement in my physical fitness, confidence, and mental resilience since I started training here. Moreover, the community aspect of this academy is truly remarkable. Both my kids attend here and truly enjoy the classes. The family atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone is encouraged to support each other's journey, leading to lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging. The academy also hosts seminars, workshops, and competitions, providing ample opportunities for students to deepen their practice and test their skills. In summary, Egley Train Boise offers an outstanding experience for anyone looking to learn self-defense, improve their fitness, or simply join a supportive and dynamic community. I couldn't recommend it more highly!
Forget the gym; this is a full-body workout. My strength, flexibility, and cardio game are on another level. Plus, the mental boost is insane.I just wrapped up a 6-week Jiu-Jitsu program, and it's the real deal. Whether you're a rookie or a grappling guru, this thing is a game-changer.These guys aren't just Jiu-Jitsu wizards; they're awesome teachers. They break down moves like it's the easiest thing in the world. Plus, they make the whole experience fun.The curriculum is on point. Each class builds on the last, so you're not left feeling lost. Highly recommend jumping in – you won't regret it! 🥋💪
This place is great! Love the staff and the coaches. Very welcoming and friendly community. I’m new to BJJ and I’m doing the classes is combination with their nutrition and weight loss accountability program. 3 weeks and I’ve already lost 15 pounds. I can’t believe it took me this long to discover how awesome this sport is!
They have been very welcoming to me, and are always smiling whenever I come in. All the coaches are approachable and easy to talk to. Communication is great.
Amazing Coaches, friendly atmosphere, and clean environment and equipment. Very good gym for all skill levels and ages. I truly can't recommend Eagly Train Boise enough!
Great coaches and training partners. One of the best gyms in the Boise area.
Clean facility, high quality instruction, and a good mix of classes. Mike is great!
I initially joined Egley as a part of their 6-week beginner course and will for sure be continuing through with my training. The coaches have provided so much support and have different styles which is nice. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and it’s been so fun. I would highly recommend this place to any beginner and I’m excited to continue on!
I am 4 weeks into the 6 Week Beginner Program and I highly recommend it to anyone regardless of age, experience, or fitness level. It is very humbling at first but the class and staff are very welcoming and they are always happy to help anyone new. As long as you are motivated and willing to accept help and learn you will have a great experience. With this program you gain access to a beginner class, BJJ fundamentals class, Striking Fundamentals, and the time slots are throughout the week some days you have morning or afternoon slots and the flexibility is great for people who work. The program comes with a Gi when you sign up and as long as you attend the classes and follow the program you are able to use your deposit in full as a credit towards future classes. I myself committed to a full year of classes through this gym. I cannot recommend this program enough and anyone who is interested in learning about self defense, self improvement, and self control while getting into great shape and improving their diet. Just know if you are not in shape the first class will be tiring and you will question whether you can do this. (I struggled and I was not necessarily out of shape) Anyone can do this martial art, and if you can get past the first class and continue to go you will fall in love with BJJ and this gym. A huge shoutout to Coach Roy who is great at keeping the class (6 week beginner) fun and challenging and is highly motivating. Incredibly funny but also very serious when it comes to his students learning and pushing themselves to become better. A huge shoutout to Coach Anthony (6 week beginner and fundamentals) for keeping the participants engaged with diet and exercise throughout the week via the trainerize app. As well as having a super in depth knowledge about Jiu Jitsu and is always a masterclass when it comes to teaching drills and technique. Thank you Mike (Egely) and Emily for opening your doors in Boise. BJJ has changed my life for the better.
Awesome gym with amazing coaches, great programs for kids. I started with 6 week challenge and lost 30 lbs. Also brought my kids here, and everyone is like family here.
This is my home away from home. Everyone here treats you like family. You not only get a really good work out and help with your self-confidence, you also gain more than you expect. I highly recommend Egley! They have a life or from me and my family. So much love to all of you! Thank you for helping me through my challenges
This gym in the Treasure Valley is rapidly earning a reputation as the finest option around. It's an impeccably clean and inviting establishment. Coach Mike is undoubtedly a top-tier athlete with extensive expertise. This family-owned gym feels like a second home, fostering a supportive community that encourages you to reach your best potential. The atmosphere here is truly amazing!
Great environment & awesome coaches! They are dedicated to helping you succeed in achieving your goals.
The program is really great and I would recommend it. It is worth the price if you truly want to practice and master jiu jitsu
My experience as a 6' foot tall skinny white guy is as any other regular person's experience would be. If you've lived in Boise town for more than 2 years I can assure you that you've experienced this before. I have been focused on building with the community in this place for over 15 years and I have found what I can call home. My biggest strength is my biggest weakness, my loyalty to the arts. As it goes, I'm typically not a huge fan. I love the arts and I have a particular taste for jiu jits. I like tings that look nice and when I find what I like it's my reason for choosing. I encourage everysingle person to pick Egley Train Boise as a location to come to and find out if their as serious about their life decisions as some-other people have been. The instructors are cool as all get out, the facility is ice cold and the building is painted brand new. I highly recommend the training program, and the sessions because the sessions range from kids ages youth to adult all skill types. ETB all day if you know then less gooo
I did the 6 week challenge to get my foot in the door for something I've always wanted to do and couldn't be more happy. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and all the coaches are extremely knowledgeable. I hope to be apart of this community for a very long time and recommend this to anyone who has wanted to do jiu-jitsu!
I answered a random ad on Facebook for a 6-week body transformation. Little did I know that I would end up absolutely loving jiu-jitsu! I went into this nervous because I had no clue what I was doing and the only thing close that I have experienced was when my son wrestled. My first class was better than I expected because everyone in the class was very understanding that I was a newbie and explained things to me to push me and better my skills. The coaches have all been very welcoming and the classes give you one hell of a workout along with a variety of jiu-jitsu knowledge. This gym has a very open community in the sense that they want to succeed but also want the person next to them to succeed. It doesn't matter if you have no previous experience within jiu-jitsu, this gym will have you addicted in no time!!!
I am currently in the program and personally at my first day I felt pretty unsure. After a couple of classes I got used to it and everyone is friendly and motivated. It is fast paced but it is fun training with people who are also in the same program. The coaches are great 👍
I have had the pleasure of training at Egley Train Boise for just over a year and it continually is an incredible experience. The coaches at this gym are truly phenomenal. They possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Their passion for teaching is evident in every class. Their guidance and attention to detail greatly improves my technique and understanding of Jiu Jitsu. One of the things that sets this gym apart is its inclusive and fun training environment. From the moment I stepped through the doors to start the beginners program, I felt welcomed and part of a supportive community. The atmosphere is always positive and encouraging, making it an ideal place for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The camaraderie among the students is remarkable, and it's easy to see how training partners quickly become life-long friends. The instruction provided at Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu is top tier. The classes are well-structured, and the techniques taught are both practical and effective. The coaches take the time to break down complex moves, ensuring that everyone understands the concepts and can apply them in real-life scenarios. Whether you're a novice or an advanced practitioner, you'll find the instruction to be comprehensive and tailored to your skill level. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have dedicated and reliable training partners, and this gym delivers on that front. The members of Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu are not only skilled, but they are also genuinely friendly and supportive. They push you to improve while ensuring a safe and enjoyable training experience. I've made lasting friendships with fellow students, and we continue to motivate each other both on and off the mats. I wholeheartedly recommend Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu.
I am new to jiu jitsu and all the coaches and people who train here are very welcoming and kind! The coaches are passionate in what they do and want you to succeed in your goals! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great community, fun workout, or just want some self defense skills!
Great coaching and staff! Best facility to learn and train safely with like minded individuals
My son has been taking classes here for about a year and it was the best decision. Coach Mike, along with the other coaches, are doing great work to build my son’s self-confidence, discipline and ability to defend himself. The gym has a great community built around it too, ideal for family.
Great place to begin training with a good community
The people during their open mat training were so kind and informative. The facilities are clean and just the atmosphere feels welcoming to begin a martial artist journey.
Traveled from Orlando with my unit for a couple of weeks and stopped by during their open mat time. Amazing group. They were very welcoming and professional. Tough group who really knew their stuff. Definitely would recommend to anyone who lives in the area.
Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu has taken the practice of martial arts and embedded it with a sense of community, discipline, and cleanliness that genuinely stands out. The attention to detail in every facet of their operation deserves a full five-star review. Hospitality at Egley Train is another aspect that deserves special mention. The warmth and welcoming nature of the staff and students alike makes everyone feel at home. Whether you're a seasoned martial artist or someone new to Jiu-Jitsu, this is a place where you'll instantly feel part of a supportive and encouraging community. The instructors are patient, attentive, and genuinely care about each student's progression. They offer personalized advice and feedback to help everyone improve at their own pace. But what truly sets Egley Train Boise Jiu-Jitsu apart is the quality of their Jiu-Jitsu training. The instructors are experts in the art and impart their knowledge in a digestible and accessible manner to students of all skill levels. The attention to detail, passion for the sport, and commitment to each student's learning journey are evident in every class. This, combined with a great emphasis on practical applications and sparring, ensures that students gain a strong understanding of Jiu Jitsu, both as a martial art and as a lifestyle. In conclusion, Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu offers an exceptional experience for anyone looking to learn or advance their skills in Jiu Jitsu. Their dedication to cleanliness, unwavering hospitality, and excellent martial arts training exemplify what a Jiu-Jitsu academy should be. Whether you're looking to get fit, learn self-defense, or dive deep into Jiu-Jitsu, Egley Train is a choice you won't regret.
I started the 6 week challenge with them and while I had my concerns at first. I'm happy I did it. The team is amazing and friendly. They do their best to help and are super understanding. I'm happy I got out of my comfort zone and switched gyms. Thank you so much for all that you guys do!!!
Great people. High quality education for children and adults a like. Great staff. Easy to work with. Our 7 yo loves it. Would recommend for both boys and girls.
Coach Mike Egley’s vision to give everyone the chance to grow and learn in a supportive environment permeates through every individual I’ve met at the gym. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here and I’m new to not only this sport, but pretty much every sport and I always feel a part of something transformative.
Coaches are amazing and the team is great too, I’ll keep coming until my body doesn’t function anymore lol.
Wow! I was in town visiting for an open mat and couldn’t be more impressed. What a beautiful culture, everyone is so nice, fun but competitive rolls as well. Also it is a beautiful location and is very clean. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If I was a local it would be my home gym no doubt in my mind.
Egley has been a place of refuge for my family. My kids have learned discipline and a respect for the ability to control their bodies. I am thankful for the time and effort put into the kids classes. It has made a world Of difference.
Mahalo to Professor Michael and Coach Anthony for the gracious opportunity to train while visiting Boise. As a 50YO, rooster weight, brown belt, I'm always cautious about where and who I train with. I appreciated the technical, controlled training and welcome atmosphere.
I have been with Egley Train for over 6 months now. EVERYONE IS SO GREAT. I am so happy to be apart of this amazing community. The encouragement, positivity and accountability has been just what I needed..in more ways than one. Not only has this gym been transforming my body (lost 30 lbs) but also my mental and emotional well-being. I am dead serious..this has changed my life!
From day one entering this martial arts studio I felt welcomed! This place has some of the softest mats around as well as some extremely knowledgeable couches!I’ve grown exponentially thanks to the dedication of the staff here! Definitely recommend checking it out!
Talk about a family of support!!! Mike and Emily at Egley really care about each individuals goals and help you meet them. You can feel the love from everyone at the gym the moment you walk in the door. I highly recommend checking this family of warriors out.
Excellent gym! Great instruction, very knowledgeable and attentive staff. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and everyone is there to help each other succeed. Highly recommended!
I’ve never done martial arts before but I knew I wanted to get involved with Jiujitsu so I spent some time bouncing around to different BJJ gyms in the Valley and a lot of the time I ended up leaving class with more questions then answers and some places it was a bit difficult to get help from the instructor. Egley Train Boise definitely stood out from the rest. The first class i attended everyone was friendly and Michael’s instruction was clear and detailed. After the next class I knew this was a good place to train for the long run. Great facility, great instruction and I highly recommend them.
My buddy and I dropped into the gym while on a work trip to Boise. The staff, coaches were nothing short of incredible. They welcomed us in with open arms and were very happy to have us train. The classes itself were incredible as the instructors broke down the fundamentals class in such a great way that makes jiu jitsu fun and effective. I would recommend this gym to anyone and they have awesome affiliations with the Veteran community which makes them that much more sought after. I can’t wait to come back and roll again. Thank you guys so much for your love and hospitality!!!
I’m so amazed at how a month in a half I’ve grown so much not just physically but mentally! The atmosphere and energy of Egley Train Boise feels like I’m right where I need to be! Thank you for allowing me space to grow and become my best self! Definitely going to continue this journey! The mental strength of Brazilian jujitsu has helped me in my daily life as well.
I was nervous joining, but Mike and Emily everybody made me feel so welcome. They treat you like family. I feel blessed to be apart of it!
Had a great class with coach Donovan this morning. Very welcoming and clean training facility. Thank you for letting me get some training in on my visit to Boise!
Excellent beginner 6 week class! The entire team at ETB BJJ is super knowledgeable kind and supportive. You will be trained by top notch BJJ coaches that treat you extremely well and bring you into the family. The facilities/mats/equipment are kept super clean and you would have no idea a bunch of sweaty people are rolling around there basically every day (hah!) I can not recommend this place enough, worth every penny. As far as the beginner class goes, each week you will jump straight into techniques regularly used and see immediate improvements in your own skills with the awesome coaches making sure you understand the moves correctly. Not to mention, everyone that goes to this gym are just good people and the community built here will easily last a lifetime. 10/10. 💯 5 stars
Coach Mike and his team have developed a great community and run an outstanding establishment. I’ve been training with him for a few weeks now and am looking forward to where the future will lead for my own journey here and what Coach Mike has in store.
I signed up for Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu six week challenge at the beginning of this new year 2023. This was definitely something out of the norm for me. Coach Michael took the time to get to know me and asked questions about what I needed. One of the first things I mentioned was accountability. The six week challenge held a lot of accountability for me. They checked in frequently and asked what I need help with, provided encouragement and positive responses throughout my whole challenge. I just want to say Thank You to everyone at Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu. You are a family oriented establishment and are welcoming and a breath of fresh air for someone like me wanting to get back into being physically active and motivated. Thank You…
I joined Egley Train Boise in October 2022 because or their 6 week beginner program and have been going regularly since then. They have amazing coaches, staff, and a great clean facility. I have gained so much knowledge and confidence in a short amount of time. I highly recommend Egley to anyone who is new to Jiu Jitsu or is looking for new place to train. I have no prior experience in sports, so diving into Jiu Jitsu was a huge step for me and everyone at the gym has been friendly, helpful, and always supportive. I love being a part of this gym and community!
Great gym, awesome coaches, and good people.
Great environment and coaches. Only a week in but it’s been a blast
This place is awesome. Very warm and welcoming environment from people from all walks of life. The owner takes the time to check on all his peeps while encouraging your own accountability and discipline. If you are ready in life to take your training serious this is the time. 100 percent! Stick to the plan he has set and you will see results!
Everyone here are so kind and supportive. Love being a part of a great group of people.
Wow! This place is the BEST Jew Jitsu Gym around. I had a background in watching WWE so I thought this would be a breeze but it is HARD. Coach Anthony has taught me so much about how to last longer on my back and how to make my opponent be submissive when I’m on top. I am learning so many new positions to use with the other guys there.
An outstanding community of friendly, welcoming people who can also fold you up in your clothes and then give you precise instruction on how to do the same thing to your friends. All kidding aside, these people are amazing teachers, athletes and coaches. Coach Mike is supportive and very eloquent in his instruction and he’s not alone. All of the upper belts are encouraging, friendly and capable. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for self defense training, athletic competition, improvement in physical and mental health or even just a welcoming, positive community and environment.
Came for a drop in class, since I’m new to the area. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was and how nice the ladies at the front desk were. They got me checked in and gave me a run down of everything, which I appreciated. The instruction was very clear and had some wrestling aspects mixed in, which I enjoyed. After drilling several positions, the class was opened up to sparring. Everyone I rolled with was great and very respectful. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.
I came to Boise a day before my competition. My brother just started bjj and goes here. They welcomed me to their 6am class with open arms. The instructor was awesome!
I'm highly impressed with Egley American jujitsu. The owners are wonderful people that give back to the whole community. Not just the jujitsu community but the whole community of Boise. The instructors are also very knowledgeable and understanding yet Savage on the mats. I've been training jiu jitsu for 7 years now and I would have no problem recommending this school to anyone from brand new beginners to veterans.
I’m from Fresno CA. I went to Boise on a business trip for work and seen Egley Jui Jitsu was across from my hotel. So I went to see if I could train a couple days, and let me tell you, I had a great time. They welcomed me with opens arms. Friendly, kind, the gym had a great vibe and the technique that was taught was great. Took the new moves back home and was able to capitalize on them.
I attended the beginner course at Egley Train, and it was an awesome experience! I had always wanted to try Jiu Jitsu, but was a bit too intimated to just jump right in. The beginner course they offered was perfect for me. I came in with zero knowledge of Jiu Jitsu or wrestling and was quite out of shape, but the team at Egley made it as welcoming and easy as possible to get started. It was quite a challenge, but has turned into a hobby I am looking forward to continuing with. So my recommendation is, if you are considering joining or taking the beginner course even a little bit, do it.
I visit Boise regularly to see family, and was looking for a gym with nogi classes to drop in while I’m in town. Egley did not disappoint. Their coaches and students were extremely welcoming and provided a great mix of early students hungry to learn; and experienced practitioners that provided high level training and a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and technique. I can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in Boise. Thank you again, Mike and Emily! I really appreciate the hospitality.
I currently train in another state but was looking for a gym to train at while visiting Boise. They are very welcoming to visitors. The mats and facilities are very clean which is a big deal to me. Coaches and students have a good attitude and vibe and are helpful as well. I highly recommend this gym if you’re looking a place to train.
Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, Michael Egley, and his staff are among the elite instructors in Idaho. The instruction, like the facility is top tier. The academy is clean, inviting and friendly. Whether you are brand new or have trained for years, this is a great place to learn something new, improve your fitness, and do it along a great group of individuals. Stop by, take a tour and and check out the sauna that members can use!
Staff is friendly. But beware if you’re trying to cancel. I notified someone I wished to cancel, only for them to say okay and then was told I would be followed up with. Was not followed up with, called a week later, found out I needed to submit a cancellation request. Submitted it, only for money to be taken out the next month. Now I’ve had 400$+ taken for classes I’m not attending because I hadn’t expected to be charged again. UPDATE: I had spoken with three others individually to have no luck previously. My fiance contacted them and was able to get a hold of someone. They were very friendly and understanding of the situation, they issued me a refund and cancelled the subscription. Still a very good facility with kind people working there. Just a confusing situation
As you can see in the picture, they advertise 6 weeks for free. That's completely bogus. They take a "deposit" that's non-refundable in exchange for the first 6 weeks and then you can roll it over into more services from them. You can never get it back. So...you could say the first 6 weeks are free, but you're not getting those 6 weeks without paying regardless if you continue to come here or not. They use false advertising.
Folks who are here after seeing the ad on instagram/ facebook, please don’t get lured into registering for this free training/ boot camp, without asking questions and ensure to be extra cautious of what the underlying rules are before registering for this “so called” free program/ boot camp. Indeed this is a false advertisement and they will lure you by asking you to pay a non refundable deposit. I did lose 250$ of my hard earned money couple years ago, without realizing this was a trap. And I can’t imagine this is still an ongoing scam.
Like I am seeing on here from a couple other people I was lured in on an Instagram promotion offering a “free 6 week program” which is incorrect. I felt like I was in a sales call from the very get go. I was asked the exact same questions that were on the page i was ansked to fill out which was very repetitive. It all felt and seemed scripted. He slipped in the so called deposit towards the end of the pitch. A non refundable “deposit” which they call accountability and the money goes towards classes after the initial 6 weeks which are actually priced higher than the standard weekly fee. When I pushed back and indicated I was not going to be spending 600 dollars today, he got overly aggressive towards closing a sale and just completely made me not ever want to spend a dime in this place. Didn’t really catch any good vibes or energy being there at all.
Overall terrible experience. Brought my child in for the first time. Wasn’t a welcoming environment at all. It all seemed very unorganized. Tons of kids for 1 class. Very little seating to watch. Luckily, we found a different gym that was actually welcoming, organized, and had seating.
