Clockwork is a fun place! The beginner class gives a comprehensive introduction to the foundations of BJJ in a lighthearted and learning focused way. The instructors, Ray and Esther (and one of the Anthonys), were very knowledgable, always available to answer questions, and just fun to be around. Would recommend as a place to start your BJJ journey.

Clockwork is one of the great gems of NYC. Incredibly kind staff, great clients, reasonable pricing (it’s the city), and a true lust for learning that you don’t find anywhere else. Very fun, very functional

My son loves this place, after only few classes he already learned so many basic movements in jiu jitsu. His teachers are really attentive. The environment is really safe and welcoming

Joining this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym in SoHo has been one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to NYC. In a city of millions where it’s often hard to build real connections, this gym stands out as a place where you’re welcomed like family from day one. The instructors are incredible – not only are they highly skilled, but they take the time to learn your name immediately and truly care about your progress, both on and off the mats. The sense of community here is unmatched. Every class feels like training with friends, and the support from both the coaches and fellow students pushes you to grow as a fighter and as a person. Beyond the techniques and drills, I’ve made lifelong friendships and built genuine connections with people from all walks of life. If you’re looking for top-tier BJJ instruction in NYC and a community that feels like home, this is the place to be.
