One of my favorite places ever to train! Trevor and the other coaches are great instructors and high level grapplers. I would give them more than a 5 star if it was an option!

Such an amazing place - I came to Catalyst after having taken a long break from Jiu Jitsu and the team there is fantastic. Great coaches, awesome people… so lucky to have found this academy! A super high level but friendly group is hard to find, but that is what you will find at Catalyst!

Catalyst has been a great gym to visit! I spent some time in the area and was able to train while in town. The instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to learn a lot in my short visit and would love to stop in next time I’m in town! .

The coaches and professors here are all very knowledgeable, and work across a variety of age groups and skill levels. Younger students are building confidence within themselves, and become more comfortable executing maneuvers.

Catalyst is awesome! I have been practicing Jiu Jitsu at Catalyst for a couple of months now and it has been amazing. Professor Todd and all the coaches are very knowledgeable and great teachers. Everyone has been very welcoming to me. I recently moved to the area and started Jiu Jitsu to get in better shape and have a place to make friends. I've done both those things! There is a really good variety of people to roll with (many different levels, ages, and sizes). Jiu Jitsu has been a benefit to me in so many ways. I would recommend that everyone come to Catalyst and try a class!

I would recommend Catalyst to anyone who wants to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Professor Todd and the coaches are great at breaking down techniques and teaching them to you in an easy to learn way. The class structure allows you to get many reps in while you are drilling. You will drill and roll in every class. Professor Todd and the coaches give really good details that allow you to be successful faster. Easy 5/5.

Used to be a regular member years ago. Came back in town to visit for a little bit and the whole atmosphere and experience was incredible, just like it was before. As someone experienced in BJJ, Nick and Todd are great teachers. The members are always friendly and welcoming, and you leave knowing you not only had a great workout, but you learned something too.

Where do I start?! We home school our kids, we travel a lot with work. We are used to being outliers every where We go. It can be challenging moving state to state, sometimes country to country. One thing that is constant in our travels, is the friends we have found in Jiu Jitsu. Most gyms are good, but few are amazing. We have been fortunate enough to find Catalyst in Windsor. This is one of those amazing gyms! Not only do we get to train with great people, we are also part of an awesome competition team. This gym is endorsed by the most highly decorated competitors in the sport. Not to mention the fact that most of the people that train in this gym are high level competitors. Also, very humble. Very kind. Good down to earth people. We are proud, and fortunate to train at this gym. Professor Todd Cornfield, and his team of coaches, are top notch. Highest caliber in my honest opinion. My sons, went from having no friends, to having a team of gold medal people backing them up, and also winning gold medals themselves. To be clear, it’s not about medals. It’s about having fun, learning self confidence, challenging your self, meeting new people, and learning something new. The high-level coaching, team spirit, and philosophy of this gym, just happens to cultivate Gold medals as a byproduct of anyone willing to jump in there and give it a try. Our family endorses this gym. I challenge anyone reading this to try Jiu Jitsu. It’s a great sport for the whole family. In a perfect world, I would train 8 days a week at this gym.

First off such a great gym! My 5 year old has been attending for a little over a month now and it has helped him out in so many ways. He is focusing more and trying more in school. He was having a rough time transitioning into being in school and his attitude has improved so much since starting here. The coaches here are all amazing. They are great with the kids and very welcoming to everyone. They treat you like family and it has been all around great for my son. I highly recommend Catalyst to anyone.

Although I had trained here a few times in the past, I just recently moved to Windsor and joined the Catalyst family from another Ribeiro affiliate. They welcomed me with open arms and made it seem like I have been apart of this team for years. Thank you to Professor Kornfield and Coach Jen Kornfield for making me feel welcome immediately.

Catalyst Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of those extremely rare places where everyone is welcome, regardless of life or training experience. Professor Todd Kornfield and his wife Jen have put together a wonderful coaching team that will take on helping anyone looking to be helped. So if you are a parent looking for a great activity for your child or yourself are looking to lose weight or learn how to defend yourself OR want to go all the way and receive that coveted black belt, come try a class or two and start changing your life today.

Jiu-jitsu and kickboxing classes are both excellent. All of the instructors are good at teaching, they have impressive records, and you get a lot of individual coaching and feedback. It's just an all-around great group.

Been training here for about 2.5 years, and I can hands down say you will not find a better place for the services they offer. Curriculum is fresh, innovative, and open to personal adaptation. Lots of class options, from morning to evening and weekend. The kids program is exceptional and very well supported (have two kids who have trained here on and off). The coaching is top-down and versatile, with different techniques and styles. Lineage is very strong. Competing is encouraged and very well supported at every age. Prices are very competitive. Most importantly, you will not find a better group of people to train with. Very highly recommend!

Dropped in to audit a class and get to meet some more jiujitsu practitioners. Had a GREAT class with coach Sean (sp?) and enjoyed some killer rolls with a few of the guys. Thanks for the hospitality! Look forward to training again soon!

Our daughter has gone to dancing, soccer, gymnastics, swimming, and karate. None of the classes and programs really resonated well with her until we enrolled her into Catalyst's BJJ. She loves it and the instructors and facility is great.

Catalyst is an awesome place. Their staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable in jiu jitsu. Professor Todd is an excellent teacher and great with kids. They have a good location that is well maintained. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with any skill level interested in learning BJJ.

There are not enough positive words to describe Jen and Todd Kornfield, the owners and operators, and their staff and facility. They understand the art of jiu jitsu and are passionate about sharing it with others. I came in as a middle-aged complete martial arts novice and they welcomed me with open arms and have guided my journey with patience and skill. I would recommend them to anyone.

I love Catalyst. Not only are the people amazing I have learned so much more in the time I've been here than I have the entire time I've boxed. I was skeptical about kickboxing but I love it. The coaches are amazing!! And they are amazing with kids!!!!!!!

It's a great way to learn self defense, get exercise, and my daughter absolutely loves it! She has improved her stamina and has had an extremely positive experience. The coaches are truly outstanding and have a great balance of discipline and fun. I've never met better coaches or nicer people. Her confidence has increased 10 fold and it's a great way to give your child the tools they need to deal with all kinds of situations. The kids help each other learn and work together. I highly recommend it.

Coaches Todd and Jen have created a great program for kids. My daughter has been attending for four months and the transformation has been impressive. The kids are very supportive of new students. If you are looking for a self defense school in the Windsor area, I highly recommend checking them out.

6/16/14 Update I've been taking my ten year old son to Catalyst for ten months now. I always watch the training. This school continues to impress and exceed my expectations. Yes it is a large, new and clean facility, but that is a small part of the draw. It's the people. Todd and spouse Jen, both instructors, have created a wonderful environment for all the students and families. The school just celebrated their first year in business with a huge pot-luck. I'll bet there were 70 people enjoying the gathering. The kids played dodge ball for hours and the families continued to bond. And yes all the kids, both girls and boys of all ages really love to play dodge ball. The school offers spinning class while the youth classes are taking place and they have great family rates. If you are considering bully-proofing your child and want them to develop confidence in a warm environment don't miss this great school. I receive no compensation of any kind for my review. It's important to me for these people to be know for the great work they do. My son really loves this place. Original Post: Personally I have attended many martial arts schools throughout my life. I was looking for a convenient location for my nine year old son to get his first taste of martial arts. He has been playing ice hockey since age four. There are a few good schools in the area to choose from. CBBJ exceeded my expectations in many ways. Being new, the facility is spotless with brand new mats and two large workout areas. Now for the instructors (the most important part). They have been outstanding. The kids are getting a great workout while having FUN! The instructors are patient while keeping the kids focused and safe. The class schedule fits our lifestyle and the cost is very reasonable. I am very pleased to have found CBBJ.

We were looking for a place for my son to start martial arts. After reading about BJJ as being one of the best martial arts for kids, assertiveness, and bullying, we bit the bullet and brought him in. He has flourished here! Todd and the other coaches are phenomenal with him and the other kids in his class. We are looking at enrolling more of the family. Top notch facility and, most importantly, coaches. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

This place is amazing! They have the biggest jiu jitsu mat in northern colorado, all their gear is new and well kept. The instructors there will work with you every step of the way until you get it down and are the nicest people I have meet here in Colorado. The bottom section is all jiu jitsu and sparring (depending on the day) and the upstairs is strictly kickboxing and sparring with some extra mats for rolling or warming up (in case there is a class going on downstairs). This place is huge in comparison to other gyms I have been to. I love this place and I will definitely keep going.
