Denver hosts nearly half of Colorado's BJJ tournaments, and the surrounding metro adds regular events in Northglenn, Englewood and Westminster. Colorado Springs is the main tournament city outside the Denver area.
Grappling Industries Denver is the most frequent event. Other recurring competitions include F2W Colorado State, the AGF Colorado Springs Championships, the NAGA Denver Grappling Championship, Pro Open BJJ Denver, the All Valley Jiu Jitsu Tournament and Pit Boss Grappling's sub-only opens, along with gym in-house tournaments run by academies such as New Era and Katharo.
Gi divisions appear at around six in ten events and No-Gi at just over half, and close to four in ten offer kids divisions. Adult entry ranges from around $30 at smaller events to roughly $150 for the larger opens, with a median of about $35. October, November and May are the busiest months.
