The place to train Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Saffron Walden, Essex. We are a small friendly club with the main goal of providing somewhere fun, clean and safe for MMA enthusiasts to train. We also offer training and competition options for fighters in K1 Kickboxing, No-Gi Submission Grappling and full MMA. We provide a range of Mixed Martial Arts Classes separating out the standing elements and the groundwork element as well as open gym sessions and sparring training. We also host several other martial arts clubs, in which you can train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Aikido and Judo

Ed has been training martial arts at a competitive level for nearly 20 years. At school and university he competed in Muay Thai, before discovering BJJ in his early twenties. Ed is a BJJ black belt under Dickie Martin of Carlson Gracie team. His recent competition results include silver at the British Open (gi, brown belt, masters 1).

Just brilliant really. Been waiting for years for a BJJ place to open in the town, and here it is, and it's bloody amazing. I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Carlson Gracie Saffron Walden for nearly a year, starting as a beginner, and it has been a fantastic experience! Ed provides detailed and progressive instruction which is accessible to everyone and helps you learn quickly. His expertise really shines through. Classes are super relaxed and welcoming, so if you're interested in picking up a new hobby I'd definitely recommend coming down for a trial class or two!

The Carlson Gracie BJJ Club Saffron Walden, held at the MMA Room is excellent. I have been attending for a few months now and have been really impressed with how welcoming everyone has been right from the start. Ed is an amazing instructor. He is patient, clear and informative and his knowledge of BJJ is second to none. I feel very privileged to be taught by him. If you are looking for a martial art I would wholeheartedly recommend to come and train here. (Picture is me being awarded my first stripe by Ed)
