  I did a lot of research when looking for a Jiu-Jitsu school and this one fit what I was looking for. My daughter and I started together and we were welcomed with open arms. They know you are new and will train you. There have been a lot of very experienced people at the school taking their time with us to show us how things are done. Everyone has been great. My daughter looks forward to coming to class. My wife and I were wondering if this would be something positive for our son, who is special needs. We spoke with the head instructor and one of the assistant instructors and we were encouraged to bring him for the trial class they offer for everyone and see how he will do. He did the trial. The instructor was very patient with him and understood what was going on. He also allowed our daughter to work with our son. We signed him up after the trial. They offered to let our daughter work with him, until he gets used to the routine, so he can do it on his own. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with this school and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

  If you're looking for a BJJ studio to welcome, challenge, and uplift you—you've found it. My partner has been training here since 2019 (and now teaches). Owner and Professor Thiago is incredibly knowledgeable; fostering a warm and unique environment for martial artists on a journey to find not only fitness and mastery but legacy and comraderie as well. Can't recommend it enough.

  I drop in at Carlson Gracie San Antonio when we visit my wife’s family. The Instructors and Students welcome you with open arms. The instruction is technical, and class is fun and practical. The facility is clean and mat space is perfect. I love it. Would train there full time were I in San Antonio. John

  My kids are 5 and 8 years old and have been training at the San Antonio location for 7 months now. The kids coaches do a great job with the program and managing the different age groups, I’ve noticed a huge improvement not only in my children’s skill level but their behavior and discipline at home as well. I highly recommend the kids program for all ages and all belts.

  You can tell a lot about a person’s character by how they conduct themselves when there is nothing in it for them. My family trains at a different Carlson Gracie gym in another area. We recently traveled to San Antonio for a BJJ tournament. Coaches from our home gym were not able to join us. With no advance notice, and at a time when they had plenty of their own student competitors keeping them completely busy, both Professor Thiago and Coach Pat made themselves available to coach our competitor, treating us as one of their own. I want to thank both of you gentlemen for your time, your professionalism, your enthusiasm, and your commitment. Coach Pat, I especially want to thank you for the guidance and words of encouragement off the mat. I have tremendous respect for Carlson Gracie San Antonio.
