Took the team and a couple of clients to Try Capoeira (or as I think its termed "Play") Mestre Biscuim was a superb guide and Emma made the whole experience magical. For some reason next time the team want to try BJJ which they also do, I am assured its not because they have a desire to strangle me. I think I will come back on my own as well.

Mestre Biscuim & Mestra Sinninah are constantly encouraging & supportive through our Capoeira classes, especially when it is our annual Batizado’s. The academy is a safe place for all ages. Classes are fun, engaging & lifts my mood whilst learning a skills. Brazilarte have their community at heart & takes part in community activities e.g Village Green, Halloween parade & much more. I have made great friends amongst my peers & my 2 girls & husband are also members.

A wonderful community with a whole lot of heart. I used to attend drumming on Mondays here before moving away. It was my favourite way to shut my brain up after work and was such a great way to start the week. I look forward to visiting again when I'm back in town!

I have recently found this community. I attended the open mic event which I thoroughly enjoyed and attended an event put on for Women's International Day, which was amazing. Very welcomed by all, valued for my contributions. Gorgeous tea and treats. Am looking forward to more events.

If you want to gain confidence, develop new skills and elevate your stamina levels, BravilArte is perfect for you! If you have children, the many activities available, I believe will bring out the potential all children require and deserve in a more challenging world we all live in. BrazilArte is a community of like minded people who want to see us all thrive and this can be achieved through the many activities available. Myself and my children attend many of the programmes available and it's great to spend time with eachother and create strong bonds which we last throughout our lives together. If you would like to be part of something which is rare these days , the sense of community spirit. You will not be disappointed! 10/10

I've been part of this martial arts family for more than five years. Capoeira became part of my life almost a quarter of a century ago, but by around 2005 work, and family, and injury, pushed me away from it. Then in 2019, after we moved here to Southend, Brazilarte rekindled capoeira in me. My love of it, my joy in it. Friendship, fun, care for one another, an energy which lifts the soul and feeds the spirit. Training with my brothers and sisters here never fails to lift my heart. And even in my 50s I’m fitter than I’ve ever been. I'd urge anyone to come and give it a try. It's a hell of a workout - and a heck of a welcome.

Do not approach this place for Jiu Jitsu Classes. I was paired up against an inexperienced beginner being a beginner myself. This was part of an 8 week program with Mind Central and South Essex Mental Health Charity. I nearly had my neck wringed in a death swivel instead of what was demonstrated by the single lone instructor. I nearly lost consciousness then yelled out. I didn’t receive any concern or the management checking me over properly or immediately seeking medical attention. I had to stagger out of the premises and seek medical attention myself. The owner Emma eventually followed me out after I had rung my mother who had rung her. Emma tried to downplay everything and I have since discovered dismiss evidence on Google that Jiu Jitsu is dangerous if people are inexperienced and not aware of their own actions. Emma seemed to find it all humorous to be honest instead of showing concern. The end result was I had to be checked over by a doctor in Southend A&E for 4 hours, have a Chest X-Ray done to check that my chest and spine was not fractured and have been out of action unable to drive even for days. Feeling weak, dizziness and pain in my throat and neck. I have since read all the BJJ (British Jiu Jitsu) Association guidelines and all beginners should be paired up with an experienced practitioner or Instructor. This was not the case here, AVOID
