My family and I were in town visiting family and Jeff was gracious enough to open the door for my son and I to come in for a drop in class. We made a morning class and the guys in there were great! Professor helped teach us some new moves and even tweak ours! What a great place to train and we will return the next time we come into town! Thank you so much!!

I did a drop in class while visiting in the area. Jeff was great! Awesome instructor Who gave me some great pointers and included me with everything in the class like I was there all the time. The team was also very welcoming and great training partners would highly recommend to anyone who wants to visit or join.

I'm 60 years old and decided it was time to give BJJ a try. Jeff is an excellent instructor! He and his students made me feel welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. In just two weeks, I've already noticed a difference in my fitness level, balance and coordination. I highly recommend Jeff and Bandit BJJ!

I was visiting from South Carolina and I was looking for a place to train while I was in Springfield visiting family. I was glad I reached out to Bandit BJJ first about visiting. Jeff was welcoming from the word go. I was lucky enough to train with Jeff and his students for a handful of days. The crew at Bandit BJJ were great to train with and it was an awesome atmosphere to learn in. Jeff is an amazing teacher, professional, personable and breaks down techniques to very digestible steps. You can tell Jeff takes the responsible of teaching BJJ very seriously and that can be seen in the quality of his students and by the culture he has cultivated at Bandit BJJ. Springfield is lucky to have this quality of BJJ instruction! 10/10 would recommend! Go check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Jeff has been one of the best teachers of martial arts I have ever had. I have tried and failed to learn for over 20 years, never sticking with it. Now with Jeff I finally have that missing piece where I have an instructor that loves what he teaches, and has the understanding to teach it differently per student. I feel challenged to learn but not pressured to learn one way. If you want to learn the art of bjj, Bandit is the place to do it.

Had a great morning class there thanks to an invite from Chris. The instructor was polite and professional which was much appreciated. The class structure was fun and filled with a lot of positional rolling and clear goals. I would recommend this gym to anyone interested.

Visited from St. Louis area. Jeff was very welcoming and graciously. Let me drop in for an awesome lesson on half guard. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn jiu jitsu with a wonderful group of people.

I recently joined Bandit BJJ over a month ago and have had an incredible experience training under the expert guidance of Jeff, the head instructor. From my first day at the school, it was clear that Jeff possesses a remarkable depth of knowledge in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His expertise in the art is brilliant, and his instruction is always clear, concise, and easy to understand. What sets Jeff apart as an instructor is his patience and dedication to each and every student. Despite myself being relatively inexperienced to the sport, I have never felt intimidated or overwhelmed by the complexity of techniques. Jeff takes the time to ensure that everyone in the class feels comfortable and progresses. He breaks down complicated moves step-by-step, allowing us to thoroughly understand and practice them, fostering a positive learning environment. Furthermore, the atmosphere at Bandit BJJ is incredibly welcoming. The community of students here is second to none. From my very first class, I felt like a part of the family. I’ve had the opportunity to roll with Jeff in the last few months. It felt like he was a Master Jedi Knight easily deflecting anything I tried to do (Sorry for the geek metaphor). On several occasions, Jeff took the time to help me improve on my technique and movement. Based on what I’ve experienced, I highly recommend Jeff as a coach and mentor.

Great attention to details when teaching. Method of teaching helps for easy retention of the moves. Being a fairly new to BJJ. They make the new students feel welcome and are eager to see you succeed. I would highly recommend checking this gym out. Great job.

Jeff is an amazing coach! I have worked with him for over a year now. His dedication not only to Jiu Jitsu, but the personal growth of his students is admirable. As a woman with absolutely zero previous experience in any martial art I was more than intimidated starting this new journey. He has played a huge role in making me feel comfortable and confident on the mats. He breaks down techniques in ways that are easy to understand / retain and gives great solutions for different issues you can run into with different body types. I can't recommend his classes enough! Check it out, you are likely to find your new favorite activity!
