We absolutely cannot recommend this place enough! Our son started taking karate classes at age 3! It keeps him focused and disciplined. They have the patience needed to ensure safe practices and enjoyment! Our daughter also started MMA about 2 months ago and she is learning so much more than just self defense! Coach Matt and Coach Austin are phenomenal and allows our daughter to practice in a controlled environment. Could not recommend this place more!! Bring your kids. Try out a class or two before you make a commitment! They are wonderful!

You have the opportunity to surround yourself in culture and structure provided by some of the country's top instructors. The academy has positive generational experiences and top notch delivery.
My daughter is 3 almost 4 and is in their toddler class. They do such a good job with the kids and really care about them. Its teaching them good discipline and how to follow instructions. She has gotten a yellow tip on her belt and she practiced for weeks for it. I love that they are teaching them how to work towards goals at a young age. She loves it and has so much fun.
My granddaughter is gaining confidence and learning so much. Affordable with a great staff. Highly recommend
I have been around APA for a dozen years both as a parent and a participant. I whole heartedly recommend it. The owner and teachers are of high integrity and teach patiently and constructively. It is not a place that just passes out belts, it is a place where martial arts practice and values passed to the current teachers by their masters, are taught and taught with honor and character in mind. No matter what art you might join it is a supportive community of learning. My family has benefitted much from our involvement.
Great place to come and learn karate an mma. They also teach you the Japanese language for the moves an styles as well as parts of the body. This is better the the ymca by far. You get what you pay for!!! Glad I found this place for my 9yr old. She loves it an has a great time learning how to Practice self defense as well as self discipline 💪 👏 👍.
This place is awesome. Very knowledgeable and work very well with people of all ages. My 8 year old loves going there and learning. The Senais are well trained and the Dojo is very nice. Price is very reasonable for 2 classes a week.
Great teaching very informative for kids and adults alike. My son has been a member from the time he was 16 yrs old now he is a black belt. My three grandchildren are in the kids class great for there discipline and social skills they learn so much more then just karate. And it’s not for teaching kids or adults about fighting it’s to teach them how not to fight. P.S FIGHTING OUTSIDE THE DOJO IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED BY SINSA UPTON . If caught or told that some is fighting outside the dojo they will be punished . Maybe even told that they can’t comeback . So please bring your children and yourself to the Dojo and check it out for your self
My grandson and his family attend classes. Sensei Upton and his instructors do an excellent job of explaining, teaching and mentoring all of the students. Excellent activity for all ages.
Our family, parents and children, studied karate with the Uptons for 5 years. Not only was the training excellent and rigorous, we were all like family and enjoyed the comraderie of the school. We are thankful for our time training with the American Pangainoon Academy!
This is a great school with encouraging and dedicated instructors. Being part of this Martial Arts dojo is really like being part of a family. You never make stronger relationships than when you are working together through blood sweat and tears. My whole family is/was part of this dojo for 9+ years.
They treat you like family and genuinely care about your progress and the things going on in your life.

I should’ve started earlier. I waited for years to start in martial arts, and had no idea how much I needed this in my life. There is a great family dynamic here, and true concern to teaching and not just rank advancement. No “Mc-Dojo” here. Real skills taught in a manner that is applicable and appropriate for each individual’s ability. There are many opportunities to come and learn, just get started.
Great school with a family atmosphere. You can go to stay in shape or participate in full contact sparring, either way you will learn and have fun.
American Pangainoon Academy is a traditional martial arts school. All the teachers are certified and very knowledgeable. My kids and I transferred here from another dojo and are now involved in most of the martial arts available here (Pangai-noon Karate, Aiki-Jutsu, Therapeutic Tai-Chi and Toide). There is something for everyone. Come check them out! It's more than a dojo, it's a family.
I attended regularly for a lot of my young adult life. Martial arts is so much deeper than being able to defend yourself and the lessons I learned from the institution have followed me into my adult life. Amazing people and one of the best role models around. Enroll and I guarantee you won’t regret it!!

My kids love doing karate. The dojo is awesome. My kids fit in great. They are so welcoming. Sensei is amazing. He does amazing with the kids. It's more like a family.
American Pangainoon Academy is a TERRIFIC place to learn martial arts! I first attended there in 2018 and knew nothing about it. They were very patient and taught me so much! I later moved away, but have always missed attending and have stayed in touch with them. Great people!
My daughter is in the 3-6 year old class. She absolutely loves it. She's only 3 but gets so much out the class. Its taught her alot about following directions. Her Sensei's are SO good with the kids. I can't wait to watch her grow in this. Very affordable and awesome staff all throughout!
My son just started and loves it. The other kids were very welcoming and the sensei is very good with the kids. I highly recommend this to anyone with kids. The price is a lot more affordable then you might think as well.
The dojo is awesome!! Very traditional and the sensei is very knowledgeable and motivational. My brother just received his 1st degree black belt there. This place is not a place, if you're looking to earn an easy black belt. It takes a lot of discipline and hard work. If I lived closer to them, I would go there too.
