Apex Jiu-jitsu is for anyone from four years and beyond. My grandson has been going there, and he absolutely loves it. He goes two times a week for 45 minutes, and the coaches are the best they work with each kid level of comfort and make it a fun learning activity for them all. A very clean and friendly atmosphere. Very skilled and champion coaches.

Adding to my review: I've been a member at Apex for a few years and thought I'd share their updates. Apex just moved down a few doors and were able to expand their floor space and have an awesome setup that offers even more. Weights, ropes, punching bags, and even an area for the kids to hang out while you get to do you. Amazing coaches and members are still and even more highly recommended for any level. Especially the Monday night Adult Fundemental class if you are just starting out. They also have kick boxing classes that are amazing as well if you want to learn the striking game. There are 3 different coaches for M,W,F. Each with different approaches to teaching. Apex is an awesome place to learn BJJ and kickboxing! The instructors are amazing as well as the rest of the class. Everyone takes the time to explain how to better technique as well as really put some pressure to teach what not to get yourself into. Great group of people to be around for any level. Apex gets back to questions via email quickly and is happy to answer any questions I had. After the 1 week free trial the membership, it was a no-brainer to join. The establishment itself is very well kept and super clean. I've come in on some days, and all the kids in the kids' class look like they are having a blast as well. I highly recommend Apex to anyone interested in simply learning BJJ or kickboxing or for wanting to do competitions.

Dropped in to Apex every day for a week while in Richmond on a work trip. The instructors (Elliot, Nelson, Vince, and John) are very hospitable to their guests. They also taught some great jiu-jitsu and rolled hard. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

Call the gym and spoke to the owner. Payton absolutely one of the nicest guys I’ve met over the phone, picked his brain for about 10 minutes for my best friend who is going through some mental struggles, and Payton totally set me up and hooked me up with help my best friend will be attending this gym now. Just wanted to say thank you to Payton.

Apex is an awesome place to learn and study BJJ. The gym is always in top condition and uses a high speed software program giving you the ability to track your training hours, update contact info, make payments, sign documents, etc. all from your online portal. The coaches are not only high level BJJ practitioners, but are phenomenal teachers of the gentle art. Our team is one big family of different people, from different walks of life, all who share the same passion for BJJ. Do yourself a favor and check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

The new facility is amazing!! My family and I (wife and daughter) all train at Apex with Coaches Payton, Ron, Nelson and Connie. They have been great with us as beginners in mentoring us and providing us with first class instruction. The other students are top notch and make the environment challenging but some of the most fun we've had as a family in a long time!! Everyone there is super nice and down to earth and the atmosphere is one of family.
