  20,000 Leagues is a great Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school on the north shore of MA. The location is perfect and the environment is top-notch for BJJ instruction. The owner, Kurt, is both a wonderful instructor and great person to be around. The school is a great fit for new students as well as veteran BJJ practitioners. I highly recommend 20,000 Leagues to anyone!

  Kurt and I trained at another gym before he opened up his own. I would occasionally drop in and roll. A recent cancer scare forced me to leave my other gym. Kurt was super supportive. Told me I could train there all I wanted till everything got straightened out. I joined up after that and couldn’t ask for a more supportive coach.

  This place is welcoming and transformative. Not only do I feel comfortable training with everyone here, but I've learned so much about Jiu-Jitsu. There’s no reason to be intimidated by anything or anyone here. As a PhD, I can say Kurt is a great ⭐️teacher⭐️ whose patience, creativity, and knowledge make 20,000 Leagues Jiu-Jitsu the best kind of learning experience. I have fun meeting new people, getting in better shape, and growing as a martial artist. Highly recommended.

  The level of instruction at 20,000 Leagues is second to none. Kurt does a great job of explaining and demonstrating techniques with an emphasis on safety. Very welcoming school for people of all levels. You should definitely check them out.

  I dropped in for a class a few weeks ago. Kurt was great. He has a straight forward common sense teaching style. The students were awesome very welcoming and friendly. There’s plenty of room to train in a clean well lit environment. I can’t wait to get back there.

  Dropped in for a class while visiting the area. Contacted Kurt prior to the visit and he immediately responded. The gym was clean and the group of guys were super welcoming. Kurt's instruction is top notch; straightforward while explaining the nuances of the techniques. Finished class with enough time to get some good rolls in. Will be my home away from home while in the area. If you live close you should be doing Jiu Jitsu at 20,000 Leagues.

  I dropped in for a class at 20000 Leagues Jiu Jitsu when I was in the North Shore visiting family. Instruction is excellent, there's plenty of space, the mats are clean, and most importantly the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming! It's safe to say I'll be back whenever I'm in town.

  20,000 leagues is a great place to practice jiujitsu whether you’re just beginning or you have experience. Kurt, the instructor, does a great job making sure you understand what he’s teaching you and lets you get your reps in. Also a huge space to roll that they keep clean. Huge respect for getting me back into bjj after a year and a half off.

  Kurt is extremely knowledgeable and an amazing coach. As a new member in the Jiu Jitsu community, Kurt made me feel so welcome and so comfortable my first day, which as a female, is especially important! All the members are so helpful and respectful. I never knew I could have so much fun while seriously getting a crazy workout in and learning valuable life skills. You’d be crazy to not give a class a try!
