West Hempstead is a regular Long Island venue city for BJJ tournaments, with events also running in nearby Uniondale and Little Neck. The PRIDE BJJ Championship is the most frequent series, and The Battle BJJ Series, the NEWBREED Long Island New Year Open and the Long Island TCG BJJ Open have also been held here.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and around a quarter include kids divisions or an absolute division. IBJJF rules are the most commonly listed ruleset. October is the busiest month, followed by September, with events also in December, January and June.
