Nottingham hosts a steady run of BJJ tournaments, with some events also held in nearby Mansfield. Recurring competitions include the UMAC Nottingham BJJ Open, All Stars BJJ Nottinghamshire and BJJ247 Grapple Clash Midlands, alongside the GrappleCity Nottingham Spring Open, the Nottingham Open and the Midlands Inter-University Open.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and the majority include an absolute division. Kids divisions are less common here than in many other cities. IBJJF rules are the most common ruleset. May is the busiest month, followed by November, September and July.
