Minnesota's BJJ tournaments are concentrated in the western Twin Cities suburbs, with Minnetonka and Hopkins hosting most events.
Grappling Industries is the most frequent organizer, running its Minnesota and Minneapolis events several times a year. FUJI BJJ holds seasonal Minnesota Winter, Spring and Fall Championships, and NAGA, Submission Challenge, United Grappling and Ritsu Fight Open also run events in the state.
Gi divisions appear at around two thirds of events, with No-Gi almost as common, and more than half of events run kids divisions. Adult entry typically costs around $30–$90. Competition is spread across the year, with August, December and June the busiest months.
