Minnetonka is a regular host for Twin Cities BJJ tournaments, with events also held in nearby Minneapolis, Saint Paul and Roseville. The FUJI BJJ Minnesota Winter Championships is the most frequent event, and Grappling Industries Minnesota, NAGA Minnesota, Submission Challenge Minneapolis, the Twin Cities Classic and the Ritsu Fight Open have also run in the area.
Gi divisions appear at a little over half of events and No-Gi at about half. Around a third include kids divisions, and a similar share offers an absolute division. December and June are the busiest months, followed by August, February and October.
