Dublin is the centre of the Irish grappling scene and hosts more BJJ tournaments than anywhere else in the country. Events run throughout the year, with venues across the city and in Dublin 15 and Dublin 22 in particular.
Grappling Industries Dublin is the most frequent event, returning several times a year with round-robin brackets that guarantee multiple matches. Other recurring competitions include the Dublin International Open, the Irish Jiu Jitsu Nationals and the ADCC Irish Open Championship, alongside sub-only shows and the National MMA League's grappling rounds.
Both Gi and No-Gi divisions are widely available, and several events run kids and teen divisions. Adult entries usually cost around €20, rising for larger opens. November is the busiest month for competition in Dublin, with February, October and May also well served.
