OPEN TO KIDS, TEENS, ADULTS AND MASTERS - GI AND NO-GI DIVISIONS
THIS IS THE PREMIER EVENT ON THE SGTPERTH GRAPPLING CALENDAR!
SUBMISSION ONLY:
THERE ARE NO POINTS OR ADVANTAGES. SIMPLY SUBMISSION ONLY.
THE COMPETITOR WITH THE MOST SUBMISSIONS IN THE DIVISION WILL WIN!
ITS NOT 'WHO SUBMITS WHO, SIMPLY THE MOST SUBMISSIONS WILL TAKE THE GOLD.
IF THE DIVISION IS A TIE, THE FASTEST SUBMISSION IN THE DIVISION (BETWEEN THE TOP TWO COMPETITORS) WILL WIN THE DIVISION.
IF THERE ARE NO SUBMISSIONS IN THE BOUT, IT WILL BE CALLED A DRAW.
IF THERE ARE NO SUBMISSIONS IN THE DIVISION, THERE WILL BE NO MEDALS AWARDED.
YOU MUST SUBMIT AT LEAST ONE OPPONENT TO BE ELIGIBLE TO BE ON THE PODIUM.
DIVISION BREAK DOWNS:
ALL DIVISIONS ARE ROUND ROBIN (MINIMUM OF 4 BOUTS) - EXCEPT A DIVISION OF 3 WHICH WILL SEE EACH COMPTITOR FACE EACH OTHER ONCE (2 BOUTS).
IN A DIVISION OF 2, ITS IS THE 'BEST OF THREE'. YOU WILL NEED TO SECURE 2 SUBMISSIONS TO STOP THE THIRD BOUT.
ONE SUBMISSION EACH, JUST ONE SUBMISSION OR NO SUBMISSIONS WILL SEE THE COMPETITORS HEAD TO A THIRD BOUT.
IN A DIVISION OF 8 OR MORE, THE DIVISION WILL BE BROKEN INTO TWO GROUPS WITH THE FINALISTS FROM EACH BRACKET WILL HEAD TO A 'FINALS' DIVISION TO FACE THE WINNERS OF EACH BRACKET.
IF THERE IS ONLY 1 BRACKET WINNER, THEY WILL BE DEEMED THE DIVISION WINNER.
IN THE FINALS MATCHES, IF THE BOUT IS A DRAW, THE COMPETITORS WILL GO INTO ANOTHER 5 MINUTE BOUT. IF THIS IS A DRAW, BOTH COMPETITORS WILL BE AWARDED THE GOLD.

KIDS (6 TO 11 YEARS) - 3 MINUTE ROUNDS
TEENS (12 TO 14) - 4 MINUTE ROUNDS
JUVENILLE AND ADULTS - 5 MINUTE ROUNDS
MASTERS BLACK BELT - 6 MINUTE ROUNDS

Who can compete at #SGTPERTH STATE SUBMISSION CHAMPIONSHIPS '26?
The tournament is open to kids, teens, adults, and masters, with Gi and No-Gi divisions.
What is the competition format?
The event is submission only, with no points or advantages. The competitor with the most submissions in the division wins.
How are ties decided in a division?
If the division is tied, the fastest submission in the division between the top two competitors wins the division. If there are no submissions in the division, no medals are awarded.
What happens if a bout has no submissions?
If there are no submissions in a bout, it is called a draw. Competitors must submit at least one opponent to be eligible for the podium.
How are divisions structured?
All divisions are round robin with a minimum of 4 bouts, except a division of 3 where each competitor faces each other once for 2 bouts. In a division of 2, it is best of three.
What happens in divisions of 8 or more competitors?
Divisions of 8 or more are split into two groups. Finalists from each bracket move to a finals division to face the winners of each bracket; if there is only 1 bracket winner, they are deemed the division winner.
What are the bout round lengths?
Kids 6 to 11 years have 3 minute rounds, teens 12 to 14 have 4 minute rounds, juveniles and adults have 5 minute rounds, masters black belt has 6 minute rounds, and adult black belt has 10 minute rounds.
How much are spectator tickets?
Spectator prices are adults $15.00, kids $10.00, family pass $30, and pensioners are free.
