Because you are required to weigh in clothed, there will be a 1 LBS ALLOWANCE for all competitors.
Please competitors, try to be around your assigned mat at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time. Match times are in real time and should be checked frequently on the day of the event for any updates.
If a competitor does not arrive to the mat within 10 minutes of the first time they are called, they will be marked as a loss and the bracket will advance. This applies for all competitors, but please especially keep this in mind when registering for more than one division.
Weigh-ins: We suggest that competitors be weighed-in 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for your first division, especially those competing later in the day in case that we run ahead of schedule.
You will not be allowed to switch divisions the day of the event. All changes and edits to your registration must be made by the edit/change deadline.
If you are unable to make the registered weight before the start of your first match - you will be DISQUALIFIED.
Suggested:
Skill levels are primarily by BELT. If you do not have a jiujitsu belt, then you will register based on your years training.
You are always allowed to challenge yourself by going up in skill level, but you may not go down in skill level.
Beginner: White belts (or 0-2 years training).
Intermediate: White and Blue Belts (or 2-4 years training).
6 minutes - 1 OT (if needed)
** Division where money is involved **:
As many OT as needed till someone wins the match by points or by submission. Scoring criteria is the same (the positive and negative points start during the fisrt half and all of overtime).
*Over Time are half of the total match length
Competitors lists will be available to view throughout the registration period under the "Participants" tab on the Smoothcomp event page.
Event brackets and schedule will be available to view on the event page (Brackets and Schedule tab) no later than 03:00 PM Central on Friday November 18th.
Brackets and Schedule will be available to view on your mobile device!
1st (Gold), 2nd (Silver), and 3rd (Bronze) Place medals will be awarded for each division.
Men's Team Duals $1.000 usd
Absolute Beginner • Male & Female – $150 usd for 1st place each.
Absolute Intermediate • Male & Female – $200 usd for 1st place each.
We will be adding superfights before the Men's Team Duals. Since we are also running beginner and intermediate divisions, we will try to prioritize athletes who cannot compete in those brackets ("advanced" skill level or purple belt and above). That doesn't mean you can't take your shot and apply for a superfight.
See you there! 🔥
