Description

Open exclusively to Kids, Teenagers and Juveniles, KJJL provides young athletes with regular opportunities to compete, gain experience and develop confidence, discipline and sportsmanship in a safe, structured and supportive environment.

Events are open to all academies and affiliations, with Gi and No-Gi divisions conducted under IBJJF rules and competition standards.

WHO CAN COMPETE

KJJL welcomes athletes from all academies, teams and affiliations.

Divisions are available for:

  • Kids
  • Teenagers
  • Juveniles
  • All eligible belts and experience levels
  • Gi
  • No-Gi

No Adult divisions are offered at KJJL events.

NZBJJF MEMBERSHIP | REQUIRED

All competitors must hold a current and valid NZBJJF Membership.

Membership must be authenticated through Smoothcomp during registration.

RULES & DIVISIONS

KJJL competitions are conducted under IBJJF rules and division standards.

Age categories are determined using the applicable IBJJF year-of-birth system.

Athletes, parents and coaches are responsible for ensuring that all registration information is correct before registration closes.

WEIGH-IN & WEIGHT POLICY

Athletes must weigh in wearing the appropriate competition uniform.

Gi: Full competition GiNo-Gi: Competition No-Gi attire

Athletes who exceed the maximum permitted weight for their registered division will be disqualified from that division.

There will be no weight division changes on competition day and no refunds for athletes who fail to make weight.

CHECKING DAY

Checking Day is the final opportunity to review:

  • Age division
  • Belt / skill level
  • Weight category
  • Academy
  • Gi / No-Gi registration
  • Division status

Any permitted changes or cancellation requests must be completed within the published Checking Day period.

REFUND POLICY

100% Refund: Available until the published registration/refund deadline.

Checking Day: Refund or cancellation options may be available according to the published event policy.

After Checking Day: No refunds.

REGISTRATION DISCOUNTS

Early-Bird and Gi + No-Gi combination rates may be available.

SPECTATOR ENTRY

Spectator fees will be displayed on the event information page and are payable at the venue unless otherwise announced by NZBJJF.

Weigh-In
Check-in & weigh-in: 9 am. Athletes must weigh in wearing appropriate competition uniform (Gi: full competition gi; No-Gi: competition no-gi attire). Athletes over the maximum permitted weight for their registered division will be disqualified. No weight division changes or refunds on competition day.
