Gymnasia Submission Only Open

Gymnasia welcomes athletes to a submission-only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament on Sunday, 22 November 2026 at Gymnasia, Amashukeli 14a, Tbilisi. Gi and No-Gi divisions are available for children, youth and adults.

Gymnasia წარმოგიდგენთ Gymnasia Submission Only Open-ს — ბრაზილიური ჯიუ-ჯიტსუს ტურნირს ბავშვებისთვის, ახალგაზრდებისა და ზრდასრულებისთვის. ღონისძიება გაიმართება 2026 წლის 22 ნოემბერს, თბილისში, ამაშუკელის 14ა-ში.

EVENT INFORMATION

Date: Sunday, 22 November 2026. Competition starts at 10:00 (Asia/Tbilisi).

Location: Gymnasia, Amashukeli 14a, Tbilisi.

Divisions: Gi and No-Gi; children, youth, men and women; age, belt/experience and weight classes in kilograms.

Children aged 4–9 compete in mixed-gender entries. From age 10, boys and girls have separate entries. Youth 16–17 and adults have separate entries.

Competitors may enter Gi, No-Gi or both, subject to eligibility in each class.

The organizer may merge small divisions after registration closes, taking age, weight and experience into account.

For children, any merge will be limited to at most two weight classes and two age categories.

SUBMISSION-ONLY RULES

Regulation has no points or advantages. Submission wins. The referee may award a passivity penalty after 20 seconds without action. At the end of regulation, if an athlete has received at least three penalties, the athlete with more penalties loses; if tied, the athlete who received the third penalty first loses. If both receive their third penalty simultaneously, overtime is held.

If regulation ends without a winner, an immediate overtime is held. A submission wins; otherwise the athlete with more overtime points wins. If tied, the referees decide based on genuine submission attempts, positional control and activity.

Overtime awards 1 point for a takedown, mount, back control, reversal or guard pass after 3 seconds of control. Points for one sequence do not stack.

Match length: ages 4–12: 3 minutes plus up to 60 seconds overtime; ages 13–17: 4 minutes plus up to 60 seconds; adults: 5 minutes plus up to 90 seconds.

Age- and belt-specific prohibited techniques apply. Referees may stop a dangerous locked submission early for children, juniors and white belts.

No slams, strikes, eye or mouth attacks, or unsportsmanlike conduct. For No-Gi, wear a fitted rashguard and grappling shorts/leggings without pockets; no wrestling shoes.

REGISTRATION

Normal registration: 11 October–11 November 2026, ending 23:59.

Late registration: 11–18 November 2026, ending 21:00.

Last chance to edit a registration: 18 November 2026 at 21:00. Last chance to cancel: 18 November 2026 at 00:00.

PRICING

Normal: 70 GEL per division; 120 GEL for Gi and No-Gi together. Late: 80 GEL per division; 140 GEL for Gi and No-Gi together.

Smoothcomp displays entry prices in USD; bank transfers use the GEL amounts above. Your registration is approved after the organizer confirms payment.

BRACKETS

Standard elimination brackets with a bronze match for the losing semifinalists, following the previous Gymnasia Open format.

One-athlete divisions may be merged with the nearest suitable class. Gymnasia coaches will review each merge.

Competitors must check their category and bracket after publication and report any error before the edit deadline.

No changes or registrations will be made after 18 November 2026 at 21:00.

WEIGH-IN

Weigh-ins at Gymnasia, Amashukeli 14a.

Weigh-in: Saturday, 21 November 2026, 17:00–20:00.

Bring your competition uniform for the division entered.

Please arrive before your division is called.

Refund policy: a full refund is available for cancellation requests submitted by 18 November 2026 at 00:00 (Tbilisi time). An optional Male Absolute No-Gi entry is available to eligible male youth and adult athletes; its fee is shown during registration.

Gi uses the same submission-only match format, time limits and age/experience safety restrictions as No-Gi. A clean, properly fitted BJJ gi and belt are required; gi grips are permitted.

Athletes must follow the safety restrictions for their age and belt/experience level.
