The 2026 Asia Pacific International Jiu-Jitsu Open is open to competitors from all academies and affiliations, with divisions for Kids, Juveniles, Adults and Masters and the Asia Pacific  No Gi Submission is the 1st Submission-only event in Asia. 

The event features two competitions:

  • Asia Pacific International Gi Open
  • Asia Pacific No-Gi Submission Open

The Gi International Open is conducted under the Official IBJJF Rules.

The No-Gi Submission Open follows a submission-focused ruleset, rewarding positive attacking grappling and submission attempts.

VENUE & EVENT SCHEDULE

Competition: Starts 9 am Saturday  November 14 

- All Gi and No Gi divisions, starting with the  Gi divisions 1st 

Asia Pacific International Gi Open

The Gi International Open is conducted under the Official IBJJF Rules and is open to all  competitors . 

Children's divisions use the JJIF age groups and weight classes for both Gi and No Gi matches. IBJJF rules will apply and will include Golden Score for all drawn matches. 

Asia Pacific No-Gi Submission Open

The 1st No Gi Submission-Only event in Asia. The No-Gi Submission Open follows a submission-focused ruleset. Competitors aim to win by submission. Where no submission is achieved, the match is decided by the quality of legitimate submission attempts that place an opponent in genuine danger and require a defensive response, resulting in the awarding  of an advantage , IBJJF penalties also apply.

No - Gi Submission rules 

The No-Gi Submission Open rewards attacking grappling and submission attempts.

Matches are decided by:

  • Submission
  • Advantages for legitimate submission attacks
  • Penalities 

The objective is to encourage positive, attacking Jiu-Jitsu.

The event includes divisions for male and female competitors,  through Masters 4.

 

Legends Match time limits -  No Gi Submission only 

WHITE BELTS 5 minutes, 1 minute overtime for a drawn match starting from the same position at the end of the match 

BLUE BELTS : 5 minutes, 1 minute overtime for a drawn match starting from the same position at the end of the match

PURPLE  ; 6-minute match time , 1 minute overtime for a drawn match starting from the same position at the end of the match

BROWN : 6 -minute match time , 1 minute overtime for a drawn match starting from the same position at the end of the match

Black Belts : 8 -minute match time , 1 minute overtime for a drawn match starting from the same position at the end of the match.

Children's divisions are available for:

  • Under 8  , Under 10  , Under 12  , Under 14 , Under 16  Standard IBJJF rules for Gi and No Gi . 
  • Juveniles - U18 , U21 No Gi Submissions apply 

All Belts : Adults, Masters 1-4 , Male and Female divisions

All competitors can register  through Smoothcomp using their own individual account or using the alternative methods such as Gcash , Direct deposit , or paying at KMA. 

Please check your details after registering in the athletes list .  You can edit your registration up to Wednesday prior to the event

Competition information 

BRACKETS 

Single-entry competitors may collect medals from the Awards Podium throughout the day.

Provisional brackets are released on Monday prior to the event. You can still move your entry 

Weigh-In

Weigh in before your first match, wearing your Gi and belt  or No Gi attire 

Medal Presentations

Single entries can move anytime to other valid age groups or higher weight classes or to the absolute division, Please email us if assistance is required .

WARRIOR LEGENDS MEDAL SERIES

The Asia Pacific No-Gi Submission Open will feature a specially commissioned Warrior Legends collectible medal.

Each major event in the Warrior Legends series features a unique design inspired by martial arts history and tradition, making every championship medal a distinctive part of the collection.

Aditional Information  

  • Single-entry competitors may collect medals at the podium anytime
  • Single entries can be moved to the Absolute division

Youth Categories ( listed as White or Open Belt )

The age following age categories1 will be allowed to participate in this event.

Please note all children competitors must be Under the age group ie U 10 has to less than  10 years old not 10 and say 2 months 

Coaching 

  • Coaches are allowed inside the competition area for children’s matches only.
  • Coaches must exit the competition area immediately after the match to avoid congestion.
  • No coaches are permitted in the competition area for adult matches.

We require the full cooperation of all participants to ensure the competition runs smoothly and on schedule.

  • Please listen carefully for your name and follow the match schedule via your mobile device or the event screens.
  • If you are not present at the weigh-in area after three (3) calls, you will be disqualified.
  • Check the smoothcomp app for your brackets and match times 
  • Masters competitors can move down an age group, but adults and masters cannot move to an older age division. 
  • If there are two competitors in a bracket, once the bracket is published, we cannot move a competitor 
  • Brackets are fixed on the day of competition ,  no changes can be made at the venue

  • Only official or approved photographers allowed inside competition area
  • Register at admin table for access and a media vest
  • Please provide a link for your photos to be posted to the BJJFP FB page

  • Amateur MMA fighters β†’ may compete as blue belts or above
  • Judo Black Belts / National Wrestlers / Pro MMA Fighters β†’ must compete as Blue Belt or above
