The Philippines has a growing jiu-jitsu competition scene centred on Metro Manila, with Manila and Makati hosting the majority of events. Tagaytay, Marikina, Muntinlupa and Davao City also host regular tournaments.
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation of the Philippines (BJJFP) runs the Philippine Jiu Jitsu National Championships and international opens, including events outside Metro Manila such as the Bicol Open in Naga. The ADCC Philippine International Open, the Asia Pacific Submission International Open and Grappling Industries Manila are also regular fixtures.
Most events run both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and around one in five includes kids divisions. January, August and March are the busiest months for competition.
