I have been training here for a few months and I have found this to be an excellent gym. Training is great and there are multiple martial arts to choose from. As a woman, I have struggled in the past to find a martial arts gym that I feel valued in, so I’m all the more grateful for Lee and the athletes in Ironworks.

I've trained at Ironworks Martial Arts for over a year now and couldn’t imagine training in a more welcoming and supportive gym! I started Krav Maga with no prior experience at all and Lee was always fantastic at making sure I understood the techniques and felt confident in training. The wide range of martial arts on offer is fantastic too. I would highly recommend Ironworks to both beginners and those more experienced!

Really welcoming atmosphere, started the Krav Maga sessions and even as a begineer Lee makes it really easy to understand the moves and the context of when they would be used. Always a good laugh and would highly reccomend for anyone looking to get into martial arts or self-defense.

Trained at this gym for around 18 months and thoroughly enjoy it. Very welcoming and friendly gym with options for different martial arts for all skill/experience levels. I had no experience in Kick Boxing or BJJ prior to joining so it was a little daunting but I now try to make every class I can, they're great for fitness and learning new skills! Lee was very welcoming the first time I came to a session, he's a great coach with lots of experience and knowledge!

I started the Kickboxing classes last year and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. This was something I’d never done before, so I was a bit apprehensive. However, Lee the instructor was very welcoming from day one, as were the regular people training. Classes vary each week with different drills and techniques practiced. Lee is very thorough with the training given, has lots of time and patience for people of all abilities which is a credit to him. I wish I’d started years ago. Thank you.

I can genuinely credit Ironworks with the highest possible rating and go on to say that Lee is a great Instructor. I have found it to be a club with a wide mix of members and abilities and capable of offering a tremendous range of life benefits to the different age groups and genders.

Excellent gym with excellent coach would highly recommend very friendly and a good mix of people. Large range of classes available whether you want self defence fitness whatever. I've done classes and private sessions with Lee and he is always amazing in both skill and in his ability to teach those skills to Muppets like me I can't recommend him or the gym highly enough.

I can’t recommend Lee more! I have had Lee as my PT as well as martial arts trainer. He helped me recover after a hockey injury which I thought would stop me playing entirely. With Lee’s help, I’m back to playing multiple times a week. He is understanding, considerate, and tailors all sessions around you, your specific abilities, and your goals. He put so much effort into researching my injury and how to strengthen and train in way that would benefit my playing. He helped build my confidence, strength, and abilities, and all in a fun way! In martial arts, he is so knowledgeable and explains the reasoning behind every movement. He is great at correcting form, and tailors to your range of motion and previous injury. He gives everyone individual coaching in group settings, ensuring nobody is ignored. Ironworks is a great gym, and is kitted out perfectly for martial arts training and PT. The equipment that Lee has is great, and if you like the look of something, he incorporates that into a session for you. Lee is a great guy and an excellent coach, and I cannot recommend him enough!!

I’ve trained with these guys for years. A very friendly and welcoming group of men and women of all different ages and skill levels. No egos, no intimidation, everyone is there to learn and help each other. The instructor is competent, passionate about his training and most importantly very patient and friendly. As for the new Ironworks location, it’s superb. One of the best places I’ve trained in all my years. The gym is clean, spacious and stacked with lots high quality equipment and training bags. If you are new, looking to get started somewhere at a new club, learn some highly useful mental and physical skills, then I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Trained with ironworks for 8 years now the new gyms awesome with a great mixture of classes and some excellent people to train with. The gym caters for everything from the novice who just wants to get fit or look at different martial arts to the well progressed. It's both male and females and runs both mixed and individual classes. The instructor lee somerville is very knowledgeable and only to willing to help.
