I had the opportunity to receive Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics instruction at Legacy Martial Arts, and the experience was fantastic. Ryan Roach provided exceptional guidance. If you're interested in combative or mixed martial arts training, I highly recommend checking this place out.

While I am admittedly an amateur, Legacy Martial Arts was incredibly welcoming. I first attended when they had an event supporting the family of a first responder injured in the line of duty, and made it incredibly accessible for my kids (then 8 and 6) to get involved. Highly recommended.

I've trained the various MMA disciplines (Boxing, Judo, BJJ) for 25 years in Chicago and southwest Ohio, and can say with certainty that the Legacy Martial Arts Academy is world class in all ways: (i) experienced instructors that have proven their skills in competition and also have the knack for teaching what they know that many top competitors don't, (ii) large class sizes of enthusiastic students of all skill levels that really allow one to rapidly advance, and (iii) super nice facility that is diligently maintained by a committed staff. They also have really good Crossfit and fitness classes, and kids classes, making it a very family-friendly academy. Highly recommended! +++

I regularly attend legacy for BJJ classes and to work with Roberta on MMA techniques. I would recommend this gym to anyone searching. Roberta welcomed me in with no experience and began working with me. She has been a wonderful coach and person to be around. Roberta and the staff at legacy have made this leap into MMA very easy and exciting.

Roberta is an amazing coach who has a passion for teaching martial arts! I personally have trained BJJ under her for 2 years and have no negative comments. She is an amazing mentor to all age groups, skill levels, and genders. Roberta's professionalism and skill level is unmatched. She is a wealth of knowledge who anyone would be privileged to learn from. I am proud to call her my Professor and my friend!

Roberta is an amazing coach! Her experiences in the Professional Fight League and Bellator are a testimony to her skillset. I'm a brown belt in bjj with years of experience in traditional martial arts, I've learned so much from Roberta and appreciate her mentoring. Additionally the facilities are one of the best in Ohio, you have to see Legacy to truly appreciate it! Love this place! Roberta and legacy have my highest recommendation!!!

Dropped in at Legacy last week because I was in town for a work trip. I can't say enough good things about this place. They have a beautiful training facility, great training partners, and knowledgeable coaches. On the particular night I trained, there was about 20-25 students on the mats. Everyone at the gym was extremely nice and made me feel welcome. We went over near side/far side arm bars from knee on belly, and a couple arm bar defenses/escapes. Class is about an hour with open mats/rolling afterwards. I got 4 or 5 good rolls in after class. I'm extremely glad I picked Legacy to train at while in town and if I lived locally, I would most likely choose this gym to train at regularly. Thanks again for having me!

I dropped in for an open mat while traveling from out of town. The owner and members were extremely welcoming, respectful, and helpful. I was able to get in several good rolls and felt very comfortable training here (I’m a white belt female with about 6 months of training, so wasn’t sure what to expect dropping into another gym). The atmosphere at Legacy is amazing and I’m blessed to have a great place to train when visiting. I look forward to going back when I’m in town again. Great place, great people, and great training! Highly recommend!

Simply the best environment, culture, and instructors in this region of the country. If you have always wanted to try modern martial arts, but are hesitant, this is where you belong. If you are experienced and looking for something different, come to a few classes and you'll see what I mean. The instructors (and fellow students) are very welcoming and just good people. Every gym has a culture and a "vibe", and Legacy has intentionally set out to create the right environment for everyone. The variety of class offerings and times are simply unmatched. Their fees are also the best around, but I would honestly pay more to stay here because of my experience since the first time I texted one of the owners/black belts to ask him about stopping in.

I'm a blue belt from Santa Barbara, CA and whenever I visit Ohio, THIS GYM IS WHERE I'LL TRAIN! Such a great gym. It's always a good sign when a gym has a good ratio of colored belts to white belts. Everyone is progressing, learning and getting challenged. As a visitor I feel welcomed by all the students and coaches and had plenty of good roles with upper and lower belts. The gym is squeaky clean and has a separate women's changing room and bathroom 👌🏻😁. There are plenty of class time and options for any schedule. Such good vibes and seems very kids/family friendly as well. When I move back to Ohio, I know I'll be calling Legacy my home gym. If you live in or near Hamilton, this is a great place to train bjj, Judo, and mma.

This place is really nice, toured a couple of places and this was the best by far! I can’t wait to go back to learn more. Made me feel very welcome and they were helpful compared to other places that made me feel unwelcomed and unimportant. I can’t think of a better place to go to and all of the instructors were really helpful and patient with me considering I had never had any training or anything before.

Legacy does very well working with children who are just starting out in the short. My son was brand new to BJJ and they worked with him every step of the way, working him in with the other students. I’ve been thinking about getting back into Jiujitsu for a couple of years and I was stuck on wondering what it would be like to walk into a place as a stranger and having essentially forgotten everything that I had learned. I forced myself to go to Legacy and I am so glad I did. The staff and other students, and I think maybe the other students are perhaps the most important ingredient, could not be more welcoming and willing to help. I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the place. The instruction and expertise levels are also off the charts. It’s not just a place with a bunch of nice people...their staff are high end professionals with high standards. The culture of the place just has the right mix of making everyone welcome and making everyone who wants to work, work. If you are thinking about checking a place out...this is the place.

I have tried several judo schools in the area, and visited several more while traveling across the country for work. This is by far the best school I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. No one in the area comes close. The value of the instruction/atmosphere for the low prices they charge isn't even fair to the owners. Classes 7 days a week, 3 professional programs, all for one low price. I have yet to see a school come near that. Judo is one of the best programs in the country, bjj excels among other schools, muay thai is awesome. If you're looking for a family friendly school with positive outcomes for students, Legacy Academy is for you.

If you look around, you’ll find no other gym that offers such value for your money. The staff is friendly, the equipment is top notch, and the instructors are patient and knowledgeable. The team atmosphere they foster will show you that they truly want to help you reach your goals. If you or your kid has been wanting to do something like this but you’re still apprehensive, take one of their complimentary lessons or just swing by to watch a class; you’ll be glad you did.

My two kids, 7 and 10, and I have been taking classes here for more than a year and we could not be happier. World class judo, taught by a former US Olympic team coach, and BJJ taught by legitimate black belts with high-level competitive experience, there are no better instructors around. More importantly, it is the most friendly and family oriented environment around. The owners are not ego-driven, power-hungry, or just looking to make a buck. If the above is not enough, it is the cheapest BJJ gym around, by a long-shot. Also, no contracts. And they have now they have added Muy-Thai classes, for no additional cost. Seriously, if you have ever had an interest in the aforementioned martial arts, or had a bad experience elsewhere that caused you not to return, or if you or your child to be more active, while learning a life-skill, drop in. They offer free trial classes, you won’t regret it.

All the instructors and students at Legacy care about your development as a martial artist and as an individual. 3 IBJJF recognized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts and several Judo black belts are at the helm. This is not a money grab school and promotions are not based on how many medals you put on the wall. Students earn every stripe and belt they receive through hard work and dedication. My fiancé and I train here and couldn't be happier. You’re not an ID number in a computer at Legacy, you are family and are treated as such. Join us, everyone is welcome.
