I couldn’t ask for a better gym to train at and work. Top notch instructors that push me to be better everyday. If you don’t like any fluff and want coaches that push you and tell you the truth this is the place for you. As a father my daughter trains here as well I have notice a total difference in her confidence. We love our gym. Come check us out.

I’m in town visiting family and wanted to drop in to stay sharp for an upcoming comp. I called beforehand and came a little early to sign a waiver. They couldn't have been nicer. Very cool experience.10/10 would recommend. Their people had great technique as well. Thanks for the hospitality.

Best MMA school in Cincinnati area. This place will make you tougher and stronger not just physically but also mentally (if you have children, have them train there!). At JGMMA, you will make friends who become your family.

I’m 44 years old and started training BJJ at JG little over two years ago. I had no idea how much more I could grow as a human at this point in my life, but absolutely mind blown how much more confident I have become! The professors, coaches, and staff are amazing and welcoming. If you asking yourself is it to late to start at an older age, it’s not!

Professor Jorge and the other coaches are great! Professor Jorge is really patient for my kid who has anxiety and has been teaching him to be more confident. He really takes the time to get to know every one of his students and I admire that.

I could not recommend JG enough to anyone looking to learn to keep themselves safe. The staff is both knowledgeable and professional. Genuinely JG MMA has changed my life Professor Gurgel is the definition of a master of his craft and will MAKE CERTAIN you get better. Regardless of who you may be or where you may be in your life. In short, if youre looking for self defense, community, confidence or just plain fun. This is the place to go

JGMMA is the highlight of my week. If I could be here more often I would. I've had a tremendous growth in character since I joined over 3 years ago. Everyone here is a second family. Also, Professor Jorge's tan and hair are impeccable.

Walking in I was intimidated and unsure of myself, months later I feel very empowered and confident and evolving with my jiu-jitsu journey. What I appreciate most about this School is that no matter your belt level, Whie belt to Black belt you are all learning together. Supporting each other and keeping each other going. The Professors and Coaches will get on the ground to help you understand the things that they are teaching. You never feel like your learning alone, everyone around you supports you. Just a level of community that makes you want to just show up every day.

Our daughter has been training for just over a year (started at 10yrs old), and she’s gained so much strength, patience and learned how to engage with others with respect. She loves training! *** also, learning how to stay calm and focused under stressful situations has been golden!

I have been training jiu jitsu for close to 13 years and recently moved to the Cincinnati area. Since joining up with JGMMA I have learned just how special this place is. Since day one they have treated me like family and been more welcoming than could’ve ever been expected. Every instructor is completely dedicated to their students and making them better not only in jiu jitsu but life as well. I promise that jiu jitsu schools like this one are extremely rare or down right don’t exist. If you’re looking for somewhere to start jiu jitsu or have been training for awhile this is the place to be.

This school is where champions are made walking in I immediately felt the love. The energy here screams family. I’ve never felt more in my element and at home from the coaches to the staff this school isn’t only the place to train but the key to growth. Hard lessons with extremely knowledgeable coaches, right along with the student I’ve been able to call friend in such a short time. Thank You JGMMA for giving me the confidence to grow here.

JGMMA is the premiere martial arts school in Cincinnati if not all of Ohio. The facilities and equipment are top level. The students are positive and uplifting to each other. Professor Gurgel has an energy that inspires his students to be the best version of themselves. His eye for technique blew my mind. He will help you improve whether you’re 5 or 65. Give JGMMA a call right now!

Exceptional training and discipline. Professor Jorge sets the bar high for his students in regards to discipline and the will to be the beat you can be. The journey of training process is mapped out very well. I appreciate the willingness to challenge trainee students to do more each class as well as to respect their peers on and off the mat! I strongly recommend Jorge Gurgel MMA!

The JGMMA coaches are kind, patient, and understanding, as well as stern and assertive in order to push you closer to your goals. Professor Gurgel and Reeves (as well as the entire JGMMA coaching staff) are absolutely second to none. From the moment you walk in the door you will be greeted with enthusiasm, respect, and the drive to work hard. I had been training for only a short time when I moved to Cincinnati and visited JGMMA. I had tried several different gyms in the Cincy area for BJJ and Muay Thai...after experiencing JGMMA there was no where else in my mind that I could think of training. I was hooked. The coaching was impeccable, workouts were amazing, and the people were even better. Whether you are a seasoned fighter, brand new on the mats, or simply in town visiting...JGMMA is the place to be!

The class goes by so fast and every week the kids get stronger and more confident in everything inside the gym and outside. Please check them out for yourselves you be the judge. I guarantee you will love it. We past up several other Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Doe, and other places closer to our house to attend here.

I've been taking Muay Thai classes for about two weeks. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions that I've ever made. Everyone is so willing to help and instruct. Stick with it and you 'll find that you learn to let go of the daily stress and adapt to something bigger than yourself. You go home tired and smarter...and I'm grateful for that. I'm excited about the future! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Been going here for 2 weeks now. Everyone has been extremely supportive and friendly. The professors take time to make sure you get a firm grasp of the moves and understand the fundamentals behind each drill. They genuinely want you to succeed and to push you past your boundaries. I looked around a number of gyms prior to joining and felt right at home at JG. If you want to get in shape, be held accountable, and be motivated, this is the place to go!

My son has trained here for almost two years, and I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Professor Gurgel and Coach Jake are excellent with the kids, putting as much emphasis on developing them as athletes, as well as well-rounded people. Respect, independence, teamwork, tenacity, and discipline are expected in an environment designed to make everyone feel like family, and allow the kids to thrive. My son loves it and I can't imagine him having this success anywhere else.

I can’t say enough great things about this organization and the people whom make it what it is. I’ll try to complete this review objectively, however I am a student at this gym and feel as I’m part of the family here at JGMMA. First, the people... Professor Gurgel, Professor Fluffy, Coach Jake and all of the other coaches here are phenomenal people! Each one brings a different dynamic to the classes and they put their hearts and souls into their work. They are truly legitimate professional martial artists, instructors and they set the example of what to live by. My 11 year old son and I began taking classes here almost one year ago. The people here are someone we both look up to. Second, the facility... The staff takes great pride in keeping the gym clean and organized. The mats are brand new. It’s conveniently located just minutes from I75 and easy to find. Third, the classes... I don’t think you’ll find a gym in the tri-State area with as many classes and class times. There are classes throughout the week at varying times so there is no excuse not to train. If you are looking for a gym to train at, this is the place to be!

Great place. The only criticism would be that in order to sign your child up, you have to sign a year's worth of classes and payment is auto deducted from your checking account. I don't know you , but my teenage child gets interest but then looses interest and then you stuck with the bill for the entire year. I have expensive sports equipment sitting around collecting dust. I would rather sign up for a 3 month introductory period and see if his interest continues. Otherwise he still likes it and they seem professional in their approach to teaching.
