I have been training here for about six months and I absolutely love this gym. Professor John, Professor Sean and Professor Alex are all extremely knowledgeable and committed to helping you develop your Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills. This is an incredible gym for all levels of jiu-jitsu practitioners.

John Taupe, called Professor by his students, is a stolid keeper of the faith, a true master of his craft. He teaches not only martial arts but humility, how to be both strong and fair. The gym is unpretentious and inclusive.

I’ve been coming to this gym for the last 4 months or so and I absolutely love it. John is an amazing BJJ instructor and teaches me individually given my previous wrestling experience. The entire experience is welcoming and engaging. I highly recommend anyone who has previously trained or even wants to start fresh, please swing by. (He didn’t charge me for a trial class so if you’re on the fence you have nothing to lose.) Seriously if you want to get into BJJ I strongly vouch for this gym!

Raleigh Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai facility is top-notch . Professor John was amazing to learn from. Very very knowledgeable on jiu jitsu Concepts and techniques. I came to Raleigh from out of town and professor John was very welcoming.

My two boys truly enjoy their time, they're excited to go weekly. Plus, it helps enforce discipline for use in every aspect of their lives. The prices are reasonable, especially with having two children in routine activities. My spouse and I are considering to join as well, due to the ease and the professionalism of Sensi John and the entire staff. I recommend everyone to give it a shot!

Fantastic teachers and very kind staff! John is raw but professional and you can tell he knows his stuff! The teachers are extremely energetic and patient particularly when dealing with the younger kids, but they still keep things orderly and disciplined...vs other places where the instructors can't keep a handle on the kids. A great experience all around and highly recommended!

A very welcoming environment. I spoke with the owner who was very polite and knowledgeable. Also throughly explained different types of martial arts classes the gym offers. I highly recommend this gym. The instructors are extremely friendly and helpful.

This place is a must for any Muay Thai, BJJ training. Everyone you meet is so welcoming starting with John, the owner. They welcome all ages and their instructors are very knowledgeable and patient with you! On top of that, they keep the facility clean! I love this place, and will be coming back when I can.

RIMA has been amazing. Everyone has been welcoming to me and my family. I have trained in Hapkido for 6 years. I felt stagnate and wanted to continue to learn. Professor Tricoli has taught me so much in the few months that I have been here. He has pushed me and helped me continue to grow. I look forward to learning more.

Nice environment and the staff is very professional. Great work out space and I love the basketball court. Excellent way to lose weight and burn lots of calories. Instructors are patient and make sure you learn the proper techniques. I also like the hours of operation. You should check it out!

RIMA Martial Arts is one of NC's longest running MMA fitness gyms! RIMA offers Fitness kickboxing, 8week kickboxing challenges, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kids MMA, Hapkido and Muay Thai! Skip of all of the accolades and lets get right to the experience. RIMA is located off of Six Forks in a well populated area. Parking is not a problem and its super safe around the location. The decor is edgy (typical gym look) but super clean. For this gym to be as busy as it is, its really neat and has a great smell too (little things like this matter to me). The service I receive during my visits is always stellar! The staff and trainers are world class team members who make the RIMA brand a success. I was lucky to connect with one of the trainers named John. He has a passion for the community and helping empower those who seek it. If you are interested and have some drawbacks, give them a try and check them out. They offer Free Private Intro classes! The staff and members are all so welcoming while the workouts are always progressive, and fun!

I am new to RIMA and am a big fan of this gym. It has a family feel and Master Tricoli and the other trainers are very passionate about what they do. You can come in with zero experience (like myself) and never feel overwhelmed. They break everything down and offer a variety of mixed martial arts to fit your life and fitness goals.

Im not gonna bs this review, im a really poor college kid. So when I went in for my first class and the Masters were breaking down the price I knew i wasn't going to be able to afford it. So after my card bounced, Master Tricoli gave me a call and I told him straight up that I couldn't afford it. He personally walked me through each different price and knocked off over $200 giving me the opportunity to come and train. He even gave me one of his old Gi's to use so I could buy one when I could afford it. BJJ is an expensive sport to jump into, but Master Tricoli will do whatever it takes to get you on the mat. If you want to train in BJJ there is no better place, period.

Some teachers are cool. I liked the kick boxing class because it‘s fun. Instructors are hit or miss. It’s also pricey.

Pros: The kickboxing instructors were pretty good. I had a lot of fun during some classes. Pricing is ok & schedule is convenient. Cons: Unprofessionalism about my being out of shape from staff and members. I hated the “special attention,” unsolicited weight loss tips, & laughs that I got during the 2 months that I went to RIMA, averaging 5 days a week. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being grilled when I canceled my membership.
