I just happened to be in the area and asked if I could train with them. They welcomed me. The staff and students I met are a rare breed. They are down to earth and don’t try to go all out trying prove something. The knowledge that they have between the coaches is very plentiful. This is a great place to train if you are in the area. Just joined this past February and the experience has been phenomenal. Mike, Evan and the other coaches are first class instructors. The first day I stepped in the gym it was open mat, Evan introduced me to a few of the regulars and made me feel right at home. I did some light rolling and decided to do check out a class which was taught by Mike. It was fun and I decided to sign up long term. I highly recommend it to anyone who is hungry to learn, evolve to a better version of yourself, and have the desire to become comfortable with the uncomfortable...or really even if you only just want to improve your physical fitness.

We can't say enough about how positive this CMJJ has been for our family!! Our son and daughter have attended the after school program and Jiu-jitsu training for a little over a year. The Academy recognizes children's individuality, so while both our kids have attended the same program, we've seen them grow in their own ways. Our daughter started as a shy kindergartener and has grown exponentially in confidence. Our son, an athletic and energetic young man, has found a great outlet to focus his energy. He has started competing and placed in multiple competitions. The Academy emphasizes discipline, fitness and FUN! Our kids LOVE going!

Staff is amazing! I have my two boys join the summer camp and we love the variety that they have.. not just playtime and the classes themselves, but field trips which are just amazing! highly recommend!

We have been coming here for about 6 years and love it. My 2 boys, my husband and I all attend class. I still remember when my youngest started and Evan had to hold his hand and walk him around class. Now he jumps right in and even helps other kids out. They provide a great environment for the kids to learn discipline and gain confidence. In addition, my husband and I have enjoyed becoming a part of the family here. It can be hard, but there is a lot of support all around from the instructors and the classmates. I have learned so much in the past few years and I know I will continue to gain even more.

My son and daughter train at this facility. My daughter is autistic and they have worked with her very well. All the instructors are very good with kids and push the kids to succeed. They have boosted my kids confidence tremendously. Also there competition training is amazing.

We come here for our kids' (boy and girl) aftercare program and weekly jiu jitsu lessons. Mr. Thompson and Mr. Madeley are AMAZING instructors. I highly recommend! They know how to set boundaries with kids but they also make it a fun place to be for kids. We have been regulars here for 2 years. A note to new parents: your kids will be interacting with some older kids (like any aftercare program) so this means they'll be exposed to behaviors of older kids. This means your kids MAY pick up some unfavorable language or attitude but you just need to set the boundaries and talk to them at home. All normal stuff that comes w parenthood!

My boys have been attending this academy for almost 2 years and the experience has been phenomenal. They started as shy kids afraid of even the most minimal interaction with other kids, and I have seen them grow not only in their jiujitsu skills but also in their overall confidence outside the mat. They can handle stress and uncomfortableness a lot better than before. The instructors are very knowledgeable and make learning jiujitsu so fun for kids, but along the way they also teach valuable lessons such as doing the right thing, or being a good team player. It’s been such a great experience that my husband enrolled in the adult classes.

My middle school-aged daughter began with Machado Jiu-Jitsu over a year ago, and we could not be happier with her experience. From her first day, the excellent service provided by Amanda at the front desk, and throughout her training with instructors Evan and Mike, she has consistently been excited to be a part of this family. I cannot recommend this location highly enough, and thank you for all that you do and have done for OUR family!!

I have always wanted to train/practice Jiu-Jitsu and have been hesitant for so many reason (mostly my own insecurities), I was scared and nervous of looking like a fool and not knowing what I am doing. Finally, I decided to give it a go and I requested information, that same day Mike called me and set me up for free class to try out. On my first day I was nervous, and scared :-D but Mike introduced me to the class and I made a conscious decision to be open to the experience and get out of my head. I had a great time, everyone there was nice and I made a friend who is supportive and has taken me under her wing! :-D Anyhow, I signed up and every day I go practice, I become less awful and that's a great feeling! I can't wait to get my first strip on my WHITE Belt :) - As for the instructors they are high quality, helpful and caring! I cant' wait to be back tonight -

My 9 year old daughter has been practicing here for a year and a half. She has learned so much and I feel confident she can protect herself if the need arises. This is amazing for their physical and mental well being. My son also practiced here 10 years ago. The same instructors that taught him are teaching my daughter. They are amazing!

Amazing and friendly staff. The teachers work well with kids. My daughter has been going here for classes and summer camps for almost 3 years and love that she has fun while learning take down techniques that can be valuable if she ever needed to use them for self defense.

Incredible environment to learn Jiu Jitsu. I train here every time I’m in the Frisco area visiting Family. Clean academy, all the guys are friendly and are legit trying to get good at Jiu Jitsu. We absolutely love this establishment. The instructors are amazing guys and have a wealth of knowledge in the art of jujitsu. We enrolled our son about a year ago and he loves it. Their after school program is helpful and Amanda is the sweetest and toughest when she needs to be with the kids. Our son has done a tournament and absolutely is hooked. It teaches him so much about how to over come adversity and protect himself. He gets camaraderie with his classmates and the coaches. We can not recommend this place enough for you or your family. Our son has been going to Machado The Colony for almost 4 years since he was 13. He has trained with Mike and has grappled with adults since he started. They all took him under their wings and he has gained so much confidence and strength. He's now 16, a blue belt and still grappling with adults and competing.

Awesome gym and instructors. They are very patient, controlled and direct in what they expect while keeping it fun and energetic. Even the youngest ones are learning true technique and life lessons that come with being in an uncomfortable situation. Try them out for sure!

I have been to a lot of martial arts gyms, you are crazy not to take your kids here or adults for that matter. Great energy and organized instructors. Friday evening kids class from 5-9 is great for parents to get our for a date night.

First: This school is amazing with kids! Their values and responsibility carry over into life at home. They are clean, safe and caring environment that I trust my kids to be a part of, especially during these unprecedented times. Second: this has been the best activity for my son over any other sport. It fulfills his innate need for a physical outlet and teaches him valuable life skills. It's not about fighting. it's about ego. It puts it in check and allows him to develop habits that carry over into a multitude of areas in his life. Third: for my daughter it brings security in knowing she can protect herself and creates lifelong habits of self defense skills that every parent want's the confidence in knowing for their little girl. Plus she can wear a pink and purple gi which makes her happy.

I found this place off a tip on fb. They have a WONDERFUL after school program and classes for kids. My daughter was getting bullied at school and we decided to check Out Brazilian Jiu jitsu. This has been the best decision ever!! They are affordable and they care about the kids and training them! Now my daughter is in advanced orange belt and dominates. It’s a great program and they will pick your kids up and train them in classes until you get there. I love the owners and the atmosphere is amazing. 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The kid’s program is excellent! Mr. Evan and Mr. Vincent have a tremendous gift at connecting with the children! My daughter tends to be shy and the classes are helping her break out a little more and as you can tell from the picture she absolutely loves it. The program helps her by instilling confidence and of course self-defense. She comes home nearly every time wanting to practice. Each morning she will wake up asking if she gets to go to class today! The adult program and classes are also excellent Mike does and superb job at walking through the techniques step by step. The environment is well suited for beginner or advanced… Really great group of people!

World class bjj, kickboxing, and wrestling. Michael madeley is a very technical Carlos Machado black belt. Coach Thompson, a champion kickboxer and Coach Marc has over 25 years of wrestling. The beauty is there are definitely no ego's here.

I've been training with them for a couple of months. Coach Madeley is absolutely focussed on details while providing instruction. I still have problems with my English verbal communication skills but nevertheless Mr. Madeley tries to help it in as much as he can! It is the perfect place to improve your self-defense skills and your confidence as well. They honor martial arts budo giving sense to “Leave Your Ego at the Door”

RCJ Machado Jiu-Jitsu in The Colony, Texas is an excellent place for people of all ages to gain both mental and physical strength. They are very family friendly while still offering plenty of options and activities for individuals as well. I initially signed up for a family membership, so my children could participate in a sport that would help them build self-confidence and learn self-defense and self-discipline. All of which they have gained substantially and are continuing to develop from attending RCJ Machado. The instructors at RCJ Machado have an innate ability to make every class fun, exciting and even playful for the children while providing instruction and maintaining structure and control of the class. With a family membership, which happens to be a bargain for families with 2 or more people who participate in the courses offered at RCJ Machado, I was able to participate in the adult classes at no additional cost. It didn’t take long for me to become hooked and find that practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a fun form of fitness training for cardio, muscle toning, strength, agility and weight loss. With the numerous courses for all skill levels offered at various times throughout the day Monday thru Saturday at RCJ Machado, it is easy to fit in training around our busy schedules (kids’ activities, adult’s work schedules, etc.). In fact, the highlight of my workday on Tuesdays and Thursdays is taking a mid-day break from work to go choke my friends at RCJ Machado. :) The staff of RCJ Machado Jiu-Jitsu has always made our family and friends feel welcome and their motto “Leave Your Ego at the Door”, which is posted on their wall, is portrayed in all aspects of their training and interaction with their students and clientele.
