My kids have been training here for quite some time and they love it! We love our little big jiu jitsu family ♥️ All of the coaches are incredible! If you’re looking for a new gym, look no further.

CJJF has become family. Ricky is an excellent coach. The friends I've made at CJJF and the experiences I've had are worth every penny.

My husband invited me to my first bjj class 3.5 years ago & I never looked back! It’s our home away from home. Coach Ricky is very laidback & knowledgeable, and our teammates are encouraging & helpful. The kids’ coaches are pretty great too, if I do say so myself 😏

This place is near & dear to our family. Not only has my child grown physically, and mentally — she has made life long friends, and has developed skills she will carry with her forever— and continues to do so! The instructors are so knowledgeable, the environment is calm. The other parents are also great and easy to get along with . 10/10 would recommend this gym anyone looking to train- young or old !

Was in town for work and wanted to find a place to train a couple nights. Found CJJF and called. Ricky was very friendly and explained his drop in policy. I signed up online for a drop in and trained 2 nights here. Coach Jason was great going on some basic things such as head arm choke, mount escapes to leg attacks and counter attacks. I thought I had met him somewhere before in my travels and sure enough I had last year training at Derby City MMA in Louisville, KY. Facility was clean and hygienic. Fellow students were friendly and personable. I will definitely be stopping by the next time I'm in town.

I walked in not truly what I was getting myself into all I knew was that I wanted to gain confidence, get in shape and learn something new. I got all those things from training here but also so much more than I ever expected to find. I gained a family and friends I never knew I needed in my life. This is a great place to train whether you have not done anything athletic in the last 10 years or are running marathons every other weekend.

I've always had a good experience in this gym. Every one there is friendly, willing to educate, and help you grow to become a better person. I highly recommend this gym to all of my friends and anyone else who's willing to put in the work. They've helped me grow mentally and physically. All around great group of people.

The professor is excellent. He is skilled, patient and extremely caring. His professional and warm approach to instructing children is why I trust him with my kids. The gym is warm and family oriented. My entire family trains in Jiu Jitsu and we love the physical and mental growth we have seen from the training. I recommend this gym any chance I get.

From the moment you step in the doors to the moment you leave, the comradery will always be there. Everyone there will make you feel like family, like it should be. I was very hesitant starting BJJ at 35 years old but everyone is literally welcomed and they will tailor a program to fit your needs; from 20 year olds to 50 year olds, male or female, those with background in similar sports to someone with zero experience aka the guy off the couch (ME) - just trust the process and it will pay off. The motto is "leave your ego at the door" because once you enter, we're all equals and that's one of the many things I value most. If you're hesitant, I'd try the free one day course and see if it's for you. The knowledge, experience, patience and family in this gym is unparalleled!

Jiu Jitsu can be daunting to a beginner, but Professor Lucas and Coach Ricky make both new members and experienced jiu jitsu practitioners feel welcome and important from the first day. And the knowledge and teaching techniques are second to none! I'd highly recommend CJJF North Carolina for anyone looking to start BJJ or continue their journey.

This place is a game changer!!!! I started my Jiu Jitsu journey here and I’ve completely changed my way of life. Professor Lucas and Coach Ricky are extremely knowledgeable and I feel the authenticity of the art with Professor Lucas’s BrazilIan roots! My son (5yrs) and I both train here and consider the other members like a second family. The gym is very welcoming and the attention to self improvement and family is second to none. Check this place out if you are looking for a top rated BJJ gym in the area!!! You will not be disappointed!

My kids all love training here and ask every day when it's time for Jiu Jitsu again. They're welcoming and friendly even though we're all brand new at this. Definitely sign up and try it out!

This martial arts school is a great place for adults as well as children, because of its family-oriented environment, which is difficult to find at other places. It has a great variety of martial arts and self-defense programs that can incorporate anybody’s skill levels, no matter whether you are a beginner or have previous experience. You can learn how to defend yourself on your feet as well as on the ground. The school also offers special programs for children, so the whole family can participate and have fun at the same time. Everyone is always welcome here.
