Really impressed with this place when I dropped in whilst travelling. The facilities are clean and spacious. Coaching was excellent, and their friendly students gave me some tough rolls.
I contacted Ian to see if I could train this evening as I work away and I was staying in Weston super mare.
Best thing I did was get in touch. Welcomed me in and had a brilliant fundamental session.
Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Great training partners all helping to get the best out of u. Ian's instructing was spot on and a top guy too and breaks everything down to the fine details step by step on how to defend and also the next steps to go forward on the offense. Session was 90 minutes long with a warm up at the beginning and rolling at the end.
I would highly recommend anyone looking to get involved to get in touch and train at Rising Tide BJJ.
So glad I did. Thank you all 🥋
Joined my daughter up at this club several months ago, who is 9 years old, and found this club from the outset to be exceptional on all levels. The way that these guys run this club is incredible, my daughter loves it there , she attends twice per week and now looking to attend 3 times per week when we can.
Thanks guys
Wes and Georgia
This has to be my best experience of my Jiu-jitsu in South West England so far :)
They tick all the boxes and I'll list a few:-
Very welcoming and friendly
Coaching is engaging, useful and fun
All the students are really friendly
They have a decent space to roll
There are several black belts involved
They train 7 days a week!
Just go there and roll! You'll be greeted with open arms with highly experienced coaches and great students.
I wish I could stay longer and I am hoping to return :)
Great gym. Dropped in from Hong Kong and the gym was very welcoming. Professor Ian was super helpful sharing wicked advice and tips on the open mat. Highly recommend.
Rising Tide is an amazing place to train for both myself and my kids! All of the instructors are absolutely brilliant and the whole club has been so welcoming. With so much experience and passion it is a great place for anyone whether you've been training for years or just want to give it a go.
I've been training here for a couple of years now. Firstly, it's the cleanest Martial Arts club I've ever trained at. The classes are a good size and suited to all levels. The amount of classes put on per week are more than anywhere else I know.
I dropped by for an open mat whilst in town, and it was a great experience. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, making it easy to join in. The Jiu Jitsu here is top-notch, with plenty of skilled people to roll with. I can definitely recommend this gym and I will be back.
Thank you.
I passed through Weston-Super-Mare today so thought I would pop in to train at Rising Tide BJJ. I’ve known Ian, one of the owners there, for over 15 years. What a warm and friendly bunch of folk there! The facilities are top notch and very spacious.
Black belt Paddy taught the class and it was very well run. He took care to accommodate for students ranging from very new beginners to old farts like me. You can always tell how good a BJJ school by the way the students spar and I was very impressed by how technical, competitive and also considerate they all were.
Before the adults class I did also catch the second half of a kids class and again, I was very impressed at how well it was run. There is a good student to adult coach/assistant ratio which is always important.
Overall, highly recommend!!
