  My son absolutely loves training here and has been doing so for the last 3 years. The gym is clean and spacious, but more importantly it's friendly and welcoming all round (instructors and students). Jon's nature puts the kids at ease and they feel right at home after their first class – even those who are more introverted. Jon's passion for BJJ shows and his instruction is truly first class. If you're looking to introduce your kid to the sport of BJJ, this is without question the club for you!

  I dropped in for a trial and the coaches were fantastic and the members were great to roll with. I love the idea of making the classes live and realistic to competition style. Super easy to sign up with showers and clean gym.

  Amazing gym with an incredible coach. It’s been nearly a year since I started training, and I already feel like part of the team. The gym has a great atmosphere, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Jon’s coaching is straightforward, practical, and most importantly, fun.   Fantastic club and coaches! I started in January, and 10 months in, I’m loving it. The atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming. There’s a broad range of ages, sizes and experience, meaning you get plenty of variety in your rolls, and as a shift worker, having lessons every day, throughout the day, makes a huge difference, as I cannot commit to fixed days and times. I love the “gamified” approach, focusing on fundamentals and principles against resisting partners, rather than endless drilling of techniques, and you leave every session feeling you’ve learned something new - sometimes because you did something right, frequently in my case, because you got something wrong! 🤣 But it becomes addictive - even at 50 🫣, I can’t recommend it enough.

  I started training at Guildford Jiu Jitsu after a 10 year absence from training. The club is really welcoming and I am so glad I found it. The head coach Jon has created a fantastic full time facility which also has a weight training section as well as showers. Jon is a brilliant coach and really engages with all of the students making them feel part of the club which in turn creates a great atmosphere. If you’re looking for somewhere to train in the Guildford area you will not be disappointed.

  Guildford BJJ Club is an excellent place to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, especially for beginners like me. I had no prior experience in BJJ, but the head coach, Jon, made the learning process very accessible. His teaching style is clear, structured, and easy to follow, ensuring that newcomers can quickly grasp the fundamentals and build confidence on the mats. Beyond the quality coaching, the gym has a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming, supportive, and always willing to help if you have questions or need guidance. The training partners are not only skilled but also encouraging, making each session a great learning experience. Rolling with them has significantly improved my technique and understanding of BJJ.   Fantastic place to learn jiu-jitsu. Everyone is very welcoming. The women's team on a Thursday evening is great, particularly as I went into the sport knowing absolutely nothing. It's really given me the confidence to continue. Jon is an amazing teacher, extremely knowledgeable. He has a great way of teaching the class. I would definitely recommend training here whether you have been in training for while or wanting to try something new. Update. New bigger better gym! Lots more space. Been going for over a year and absolutely love the sport and community! Update 2. It's been a fantastic journey so far! The ladies team is so supportive, kind and great friends. I would highly recommend any ladies or girls who want to start or try something new that this is the club to join!
