I have been wanting to start my training for years when a friend who is a student told me about granite bay jiu jitsu. Ryan has built an incredible academy. I've been training at granite bay jiu jitsu for two months and it's been incredible. My first day on the mat I knew I was in the right place. The instructors are not only highly skilled and knowlegeble but also dedicated to helping each student grow. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming for students at all levels. The classes are well structured, with technique, drilling, and live sparring. Granite bay jiu jitsu is 5 star highly recommend.

From the moment we walked through the doors at Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu, we knew we'd found something special. This isn't just another martial arts studio – it's a place where everyone truly belongs. Ken, the office manager, is the definition of excellence. He handles everything from scheduling to communications with remarkable efficiency and warmth. What impressed me most was his deep knowledge about the coaches and business operations. Ken patiently answered all my questions and addressed every concern with genuine care, making us feel welcome from day one. Our journey began with Coach Jose, who conducted my child's assessment. As a parent of a child with autism, I've grown accustomed to people seeing the diagnosis before seeing my child. Coach Jose was refreshingly different. He was incredibly patient and, most importantly, he truly saw my child – recognizing her intelligence, talent, capability, and work ethic. That moment of genuine connection and understanding was priceless. Coach Daniel has been equally remarkable. His extensive experience working with children on the spectrum is evident in everything he does. The thoughtful ways he structures classes to be both fun and effective speaks volumes about his expertise. His patience seems limitless, and his teaching approach has already made a significant impact on my child's confidence and skills. What sets Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu apart is how they embrace neurodiversity and see the potential in every student. In just a short time, my child's confidence has flourished in this supportive environment. For parents seeking an inclusive martial arts program where your child will be valued for exactly who they are, Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu is an absolute gem. We couldn't be happier with our experience.

Hands down the best place for Jiu-jitsu. All of the coaches pay close attention to detail and really work hard on making sure the kids are not just there to play around and actually learn unarmed combat and physical training. Wish we would have found this place much sooner than we did. My son is learning so much here and looks forward to coming into class every week. Would highly recommend!

I’ve had the privilege of knowing the incredible individual behind Granite Bay for over a decade, and I can confidently say this place is more than just a gym—it’s a family. The passion, dedication, and heart Ryan pours into every class is truly inspiring. Whether you're seasoned or stepping onto the mat for the very first time, you'll feel welcomed and supported. The instruction is top-notch, blending deep technical knowledge with a personal touch that makes every lesson meaningful and fun. Beyond the training, the camaraderie and sense of community cultivated here are unmatched. Over the years, I’ve watched Ryan uplift countless students, instill confidence, and inspire personal growth. If you’re looking for a place that will challenge you, nurture you, and leave you better in every sense of the word, this is it. I can’t recommend Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu enough!

GBJJ is a great resource center for the development of effective self defense. Ryan has designed a curriculum that is both age appropriate, safe, and fun. His kids program is absolutely top tier with structure, discipline, and development of life-long skills.

I cannot express how much Ryan and his team at GBJJ mean to my family! My son was self conscious and couldn’t find an organized sport that he loved. We put him in at GBJJ and he immediately became obsessed with going and found a family with the coaches and his team! It has changed him so much and now he has much more confidence and drive! We then added our younger daughter and she has really thrived and loves going. It makes me feel so much better knowing she will have these skills in life. It takes them out of their comfort zone and gives them the opportunity to find out how badass they can be. After seeing how much my kids enjoyed it and getting fomo, I then joined and have been training here for a year. I am a terrible student, but Ryan and all the coaches and members are so patient with me and I have so much fun! I absolutely love GBJJ and it is a huge part of my family’s life!! Ryan is the absolute best, he is ridiculously funny, has a huge heart and really knows his stuff. He is continuously studying and is constantly evolving things. I highly recommend GBJJ!!

I’ve been training with Ryan since before he opened his own gym, and from day one, he welcomed me with open arms. Ryan is not just an exceptional coach but also one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. I followed him everywhere he went because his coaching is unmatched, and the environment he creates is so supportive and inspiring. Training at his academy truly changed my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the foundation he gave me. His instruction is top-notch—he consistently stays up to date with the latest techniques and concepts from modern jiu-jitsu, studying from the best like John Danaher and Gordon Ryan. That dedication to excellence is reflected in the quality of his teaching and the progress of his students. Now, I have the privilege of training under John Danaher at Renzo Gracie Austin, and I can confidently say that Ryan’s approach is on par with the best in the world. If you’re in the Sacramento area, I couldn’t recommend his academy more highly. 10/10!

Granite bay Jiu Jitsu is the best BJJ academy I have trained at in 21 years of Jiu jitsu. Coach Ryan puts his heart and soul into every aspect of the place, from his ecological based always improving approach to teaching techniques and concepts, to the immense attention and care he gives to each and every class and student. The gym has over 300 total members across both kids and adult classes and Coach Ryan could tell you the name of every individual in the class at any given time. He cares a lot and it shows. It’s a great facility with a welcoming group of people well suited for all skill levels. There is a very large number of brown and black belts as well that are always available to stop and help people that need a little extra attention. The coaches are great, the facility is team and family oriented, and the kids love him and the classes. Simply the best, second to none.

GBJJ is an amazing gym for your kids to learn confidence, discipline, respect for others, as well as themselves, and much much more. My boys went in as shy timid boys and are now confident, strong, young men. I can see the difference in the way they carry themselves and how they interact with everyone. Ryan and all of the coaching staff welcomed them and made us all feel like we were part of a big family. They are all so encouraging and good with the kids. Ryan is firm, as well as fun in his classes. I can’t give a more positive review. If you are on the fence about you or your kids joining…. do it now. You won’t regret it.

Absolutely amazing establishment… I have grown immensely in the near 4 years I have been here. Jiu-jitsu, specifically the kind of instruction at GBJJ, has prepared me to become an adult both in discipline and in my ability to protect myself as a young woman going out into the world! Coach Ryan and all the other coaches have been more than welcoming and show true faith in their students’ abilities to improve. My only regret- that I didn’t join sooner.. would HIGHLY recommend

We recommend Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu!!!! The children really like it, they learn self-defense and self-discipline. Our boys are in the competition team, they have made even more friends. All the coaches are very good, they explain and teach the kids clearly. Individual approach to each child. Your kids can always try a free week but believe me, after the second day they will say sign me up!!!! Try, Try Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu!!!!! So a lot of time pased. We still have great experience!!!! My kids go to Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu for 3.5 years. They really love this sport!!! There is a competition team and my kids are in it. We go to tournaments and the coaches really support all of the kids also one tournament he came to it after his surgery he treats all of the kids like he probably would treat his. I feel that my kids are always safe with him and trained. One of my kids forgets his phone but when we came to get it, it was still there. We were so glad no one stole it also there is a lost and found so if someone forgets something then they can get it in the lost and found when ever they lose something. So Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu very nice school!!!!! All of the coaches are very kind and nice!!!

The place, the people and the practice are all a different level. You walk through the front door and see pictures of all the members on a cork board. They are happy, excited and plentiful. There is a real sense of community. Literally people giving rides home or to practices. People getting together for birthdays and holidays. The facility is large. Lots of mat space for training, even the floor is raised to help eliminate injuries and wellbeing. It also boasts an ice bath, and infrared sauna for recovery. I noticed an AED machine. That alone, I have never seen at another Jiu-Jitsu location. If you look around the academy there are Rumba cleaning robots adding to cleanliness of the academy, as well as chess’s club, which I very much much like for the kids. They have an array of people training from police and firefighters to passionate Jiu-Jitsu competitors and even teachers. At this academy they practice both the traditional Gi style of Jiu-Jitsu and the more popular No-Gi styles. You are never obligated to wear a team uniform and the kids don’t break boards to get BS Black belts. They teach accountability and responsibility for kids, so that if a child misplaces, let’s say shoes or a water bottle, that child learns how to take care of issues themselves. This facility is a network of positive role models, truly viable martial arts techniques and its always clean with plenty of available parking. Also, KNUCKLEHEADS DON’T SEEM TO LAST at this locations. The wannabes can’t handle the expectations it would seem.

We’ve been bringing our 8-year-old to Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu for the past two years, and I can confidently say it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made for him. Initially, we just wanted to get him off his PS5 and into something more productive, but GBJJ has given him so much more than we expected. It’s been incredible to see how the program has helped him grow—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. He’s gained discipline, confidence, and a real sense of character, all while staying active and learning the value of hard work. The coaching staff is outstanding, and Ryan has an incredible ability to connect with kids, keeping them engaged while teaching valuable lessons. His approach makes it fun and productive, creating an environment where kids want to learn and improve. Jiu-jitsu has become one of our son’s first true passions, something we never imagined when he started. To us, that’s absolutely priceless.

My kids and I have been training with Ryan for a few years now and I cannot say enough good things about him, the academy, and all the staff/volunteer coaches. Not only have my kids gained skill, but they have also learned to better regulate their emotions through the ups and downs of training. It's also really cool to see the confidence boost that each kid has received after training for a while. I've seen the confidence grow not only on the mats, but in how they interact with other kids and even adults outside the academy. From the very beginning, Ryan sets very clear expectations for both the kids that train as well as the parents that choose to watch classes. He's created a culture that is welcoming and fun, but also challenging for everyone so that they can continue to improve. As both a parent of three kids that train and being a woman that trains, the culture of the academy is not only what brought us here, but what has kept us here for years. It's truly a community and a safe space.

My daughter has been attending this academy for the past three years, and I can’t speak highly enough about the incredible experience we’ve had. Coach Ryan and his team are truly exceptional when it comes to working with kids. They go above and beyond to create a positive, supportive, and welcoming environment for every student. What stands out the most is how much they genuinely care about the kids’ well-being—not just on the mat, but in their lives as a whole. The coaches consistently check in with me and other parents to see how the kids are doing, which shows a level of dedication and attentiveness you rarely find. They know how to connect with the children, making them laugh, feel at ease, and build confidence in a setting that can sometimes be intimidating for beginners. Beyond the techniques of jiu-jitsu, they teach valuable lessons about safety, respect, and how to carry themselves with integrity both on and off the mat. These lessons go far beyond physical training; they’re instilling life skills that will stick with these kids forever. Over the years, I’ve captured countless photos and videos of my daughter and my nieces and nephews training and thriving here, and the staff has always been incredibly supportive. The encouragement they give each child is truly remarkable—helping them grow not just as athletes but as individuals. It’s been such a rewarding experience to watch my daughter progress and enjoy every step of the journey, and I can’t wait for the day when I live closer and can take part in the adults’ class myself. This academy has been more than just a training facility; it’s a community where families feel valued, and kids are empowered to be their best selves.

I can't say enough about this incredible jiu jitsu gym! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a welcoming atmosphere and a commitment to excellence. Coach Ryan and his coaching staff are truly phenomenal—knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help you improve your technique, whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner. The cleanliness of the facilities is outstanding; everything is well-maintained, and the mats are sanitized regularly, which makes training feel safe and hygienic. My family has learned so much since joining, and I’m impressed by how the coaches personalize their approach to each student’s needs. The community here is also amazing, fostering a spirit of camaraderie that makes every class enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to train jiu jitsu, I highly recommend this gym!

My son has had the best experience! We tried a few other gyms before GBJJ and were not impressed. Ryan and his staff are top notch. Absolutely love that they don’t treat the kids like babies, but as humans. Instruction is clear and concise. If students aren’t understanding, the class is pulled back together for instruction and demonstration. Fridays are sparring days, and my son’s absolute favorite! Not only is it a good workout, but a practical practice day. Cannot say enough good things about GBJJ.

Each & every member on the staff & each student there cares deeply for one another & they go above and beyond to make you feel safe & they care about your success on & off the mat. There are many BJJ schools around. This place is definitely one of the best in the area. If you live in the area or don’t mind driving to Granite Bay, this place is for you! A friend of mine recommended Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu for our child. GBJJ offers a free week trial but it only took one session for our daughter to commit! Coach Ryan Rich and his team are the cream of the crop. They instruct their students with a perfect blend of discipline, respect, and care. Oh, and the facilities are fantastic. After watching my daughter train for over a year, I decided to join as well! UPDATE: My daughter is now three plus years training at GBJJ and I have trained there for almost two years. As a parent and a student, here’s what I can tell you about my experience. Ryan’s has a passion for Jiu jitsu that permeates into everything he does. He’s not in it for the business, rather he strives to teach his students how to confront challenging situations and find solutions to achieve their respective goals. Not only does this constraints-led approach (i.e., “problem-solving”) lead to significant growth and success in the mat, this philosophy can be practically implemented in other areas of the students life as well; building confidence and reducing feelings of anxiety and fear that often overcome not just kids, but adults as well. The experience at GBJJ will be unlike any other academy you go to! So that’s the philosophy. I cannot say enough about the community. The coaches and students are very welcoming from your first day on the mat. From the “comp team” parents to the men and women I train with, there is a great sense of family. We often gather outside of GBJJ for things like Friendsgiving, summer pool party, etc. After my first week, even though I was getting my *ss handed to me time and time again, I was hooked! Jiu Jitsu has become a major part of my life and I would encourage everyone to get involved with it.

My son has been training at Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu Jitsu for over 4 years now, anywhere from 4-6 days/week- he started strictly for self defense because he was being bullied at school. This year he had to use what he learned to defend himself and was successful. Beyond that, he competes on the tournament team and has absolutely fallen in love with the sport. Quit soccer completely to focus on BJJ. I cannot say enough about all the coaches here. They are all incredible , but particularly Coach Ryan. He is constantly working toward improvement of his program, always evolving. I think this is important in any career, it shows the passion you have to not be afraid of change. I just can't even fully express what his program has done for my son. Forever grateful.

Highly respected school with an emphasis on training young people to become self reliant, confident, responsible humans. If you’re looking to be pampered and coddled don’t go to this school. If you’re looking to excel and to gain skills that will benefit you your whole life you should attend. This school also gives scholarships to families that can’t afford training. If you’re one of the families that receive it, do your research before applying and if you’re a parent that can’t be told no, or your child is too precious to experience anything difficult, find a cupcake school. There are a lot of them out there but this isn’t one of them.

You know the saying: “Girls only like guys with skills. You know, like nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills!” Well, if you’re looking to level up and develop some truly impressive skills, this jiu jitsu academy is the place for you—and here’s why. First and foremost, the instruction here is world-class. The coaches break down techniques in a way that’s easy to understand, whether you’re brand new to the sport or already have a solid foundation. They create an environment where you’re constantly learning and improving, and their passion for the art of jiu jitsu is contagious. Adults looking to sharpen their physical and mental game will find everything they need here to become more skilled, disciplined, and confident. But what really makes this academy exceptional is its dedication to kids. The kids’ program isn’t just about teaching techniques; it’s about building character, self-confidence, and discipline while keeping it fun and engaging. The instructors go above and beyond to ensure every child feels supported and challenged, making it the perfect place for young ones to develop skills that will benefit them for life. And let’s not forget the facilities. This place is decked out with state-of-the-art equipment, creating a professional and welcoming training environment. The ice bath, though? That’s a game-changer. It’s the ultimate test of mental toughness and physical recovery—perfect for separating the boys from the men. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. And women. Men and women. Both. All. Not a guy/girl thing. If you’re ready to gain skills that make you stronger on the mat and in life, this academy is where you need to be. Highly recommended for anyone ready to take their game—and their skills—to the next level!

GBJJ is a great place to train. Period. The coaches have ultimately created a community where kids and adults aren’t just practicing moves but exchanging ideas. GBJJ uses the constraints led approach (CLA) to teach Jiu Jitsu. The end result is a he students are challenged with tasks and given cues on how to accomplish those tasks in a game format. This makes it fun and exciting for everyone. I’ve personally witnessed the growth of numerous children and adults with this format, and the results are real. If you’re looking for a place to have a good time, learn, and work hard with a great community stop in today.

My son has been with GBJJ for 6 years now. At first I thought he would not like it due to close contact. Ryan, the coach/owner, made him feel comfortable and confident. My son now truly loves training with Ryan. Ryan skill level along with the way he treats his students is unremarkable. He does not favor anyone in the class as he treats everyone the same. Most importantly, Ryan teaches them to respect the martial art they are learning. I am completely happy with GBJJ and more so with how Ryan. If anyone parent is undecided about sending their child or if any adult is on the fence about training with Ryan at GBJJ, I would say you won’t regret it. Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu has been given our little the ability to come out of her shell. She was picked on for being short and she was constantly acting timid. I seen the add on Facebook for a free trial and said why not. Here we are 2 years later and our little has more confidence and knows that her size means nothing. My little has been invited to join the Tournament team as well. During her 2 years, my little has dedicated her time and effort to learning and growing with GBJJ. The coaches and their approach has been inspiring and it shows in the her progress. And side note, for her 10th birthday, she had her pics done in her Gi. Coach Ryan and his staff have brought my 4 year old son into their family and have treated him like a little brother. He was scared when we first walk in but now is fully confident in all situations. He is faster, smarter, and stronger thanks to GBBJJ

I've been training with Ryan and the group at Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu for months and love it. The instruction is top-notch, the facility is clean, the people are friendly and talented, and best of all, the schedule works great with my own schedule. A+

My recent visit to Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu left a lasting impression, setting the stage for a promising journey ahead. Despite my limited experience, the instructors welcomed me with open arms. Their genuine passion for jiu jitsu and dedication to teaching was evident from the start. They patiently guided me through the fundamental techniques, igniting a spark of curiosity and excitement within me. The atmosphere here was incredibly inviting, fostering a sense of belonging among its members. Even as a newcomer, I felt embraced by a community of like-minded individuals who shared a common love for the art.

Gramite Bay Jiu-Jitsu is located in a peaceful area, the place is nice and clean. We chose to enroll after tried trial at two other martial art places. When we were doing trial here we didn't expect too much; at the previous places our 4 years old son didn't want to join in because he was scared with the coaches. Surprisingly our son didn't refuse to join the trial class at GBJJ. We love coach Ryan because his leadership can handle our silly trickster son. Coach Ryan can make our son "scared" but not scared to him. Our son at home even talks a lot about coach Ryan, he loves coach Ryan!

Extremely hesitant about jiu-jitsu as a mother. While I continue to have fears watching my 6 yo son participate in classes - its mostly due to my desire to keep my child in a bubble of safety. (Extremely unrealistic of me of course. This whole idea was his dear father's idea and not mine.) In this day and age - being conscientious and aware of yourself and others is important and something I would love for my son to understand. This is a space he is able to safely unleash his terror on others... but in a disciplined manner and with guidance of individuals who practice the art for themselves. My son enjoys Coach Ryan. My son is quite the extroverted child - and occasionally a bit of a distraction to other kids in the group... but nothing the coaches are fazed by. I appreciate their patience with my son and the other children in the class. If you can handle watching your kid be the new kid for a couple weeks... and if you can find some humor in watching children rolling on the floor together... along with hold your breath while your child obtains some bruising... then just do it. I love knowing that my son can have a healthy outlet and is learning self-discipline and how to use his strength in an organized (and supervised) way. Thank you Granite Bay JJ for allowing us the space to learn and grow. As a Vision's homeschool family this is a HUGE opportunity for us to invest in our son and I hope your gym continues to vendor. Jeremy has a TON of fun and I think it's refreshing for him to have a coach who is an extroverted and charismatic role model that he can look up to and learn from. ALL of the coaches are great. The gym is clean. Tons of parking available. It has some stalls that you can change clothes in. Bathrooms are nice and well kept.

I can’t say enough great things about Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu, specifically Coach Ryan . The facility is huge, clean and bright. Coach Ryan is more than a wonderful teacher, he’s a mentor and role model and there’s truly no one better out there. We initially enrolled our daughter just for fun, but she has made some great friends in this community, gained confidence, and learned far more than just jiu jitsu. As a parent, we’re pretty particular about who we let be an influence in our kids life, and we’re so happy with our decision to let that be Coach Ryan! Give it a trial.

I've been coming to this gym for about two months and it has been a phenomenal experience. I attend the 6am class and have enjoyed the camaraderie with the teachers and students alike. The instruction is top notch and everyone has been willing to teach and help. I could not recommend this gym more!

Incredible instructor and instructional program all together. So many classes available during the day there is literally no excuse for not being able to train. Every class has great attendance numbers and everyone is friendly and ego free. Ryan is a great instructor for both the kids programs and even the adults. This place is literally a 2nd home

I've been attending here for a few months now after having tried a few other gyms over the last few years and this is without doubt the best organization for learning BJJ in the area. Ryan, his support staff, and assisting instructors have a passion for the sport that can be contagious. Their welcoming attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to coach those (like me) who don't know what they are doing makes this a place worth staying at.

Where do I begin? I almost never leave reviews. GBJJ has been an incredible resource for my daughter. She has learned so much and truly grown not only in technique, but both emotionally and in her confidence overall. I cannot say enough amazing things about Ryan and his ability to connect with his students, the other mentors and the support they offer, even the communication from Ken at anytime I have a question or other need. There simply isn’t enough stars!! 💯 ⭐️ ➕

Love GBJJ. Coach Ryan teaches so many skills to kids that matter in REAL life. Esp how failure and struggle and practice all lead to success. Highly recommend. They were a life savior during the covid fear tactics and kept my daughter happy and sane.

My son Isaac has been attending GB jiu jitsu for exactly 1 year. It has been a great experience for him and he loves training/competing (not once have we begged him to go or he has never asked to skip) We were searching for a activity for Isaac to find his own and we couldn’t be happier starting jiu jitsu. Coach Ryan and CK are great and his rolling partners are making each other better every week! His confidence, physical fitness, and being held accountable every week has been great!! Thank You to GBJJ!!!!

Ryan's method for directing young kids is so on point. He is stern but still approachable. My son loves coming to class and learned so much in the short time he's been here, so far.

When my youngest daughter (12) came to coach Ryan she was becoming withdrawn and anxious. She was experiencing a lot of social issues on and off campus and other factors that impacted her learning and focus. Going into her first class at Granite Bay she was experiencing so much anxiety she was on the verge of tears. On the flip side, she wanted so badly to try something new. Coach Ryan was so patient and by the end of the class had gotten her to participate. That night she fell in love with something that changed her whole world. Her focus has improved, anxiety has lessened and where she was struggling to sleep, she is now passing out and getting a full nights rest. Her interactions with her peers are becoming more positive and her grades have improved exponentially. The Gomez family can’t begin to express how much Coach Ryan and others at Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu mean to us!

Great coaching, great culture. Brand new to jiu jitsu and everyone makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. Coach Ryan does a good job of keeping an eye on everyone while drilling moves to make sure everyone’s got it or to help you adjust so you’re doing the moves right. Higher belts take the time to give you pointers and encourage you. Highly highly recommend, dive on in!

Granite bay jiu-jitsu is a wonderful business. I have watched my daughter grow in confidence and work ethic over the last year. Coaches are patient, attentive, fun and the best role models to all the kids who attend. Unlike any martial art gym we have been to before. Love them!

It is a fun place to train. Coach Ryan knows what he is doing and demonstrates a deep knowledge when he shows a new technique. For adults you are allowed to go to any of the adult practices. This was very convenient when I wouldn't be able to make an afternoon session the night session was always there. It was nice that they alternated Gi and no-Gi days so that you can keep training both easily.

We LOVE Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu! They are THE BEST! My boys have learned a ton-from Jujitsu moves to character building. Coach Ryan and his team are extremely good at what they do and my sons love to go to Jiu-Jitsu and return home with increased strength, skill, confidence.

My son is 7 and he has a couple social issues that were spotted pretty quickly and handled incredibly by Coach Ryan. I'm used to having to get involved, but Coach Ryan was able to encourage, support and motivate my son quickly so he could recover, and he continued to enjoy his class. Being put on the spot, or when all the attention is on my son, is really hard on him and he shuts down. After one episode of him panicking when he had to introduce himself, he is now able to introduce himself no problem and was proud of himself for being able to do so, after encouragement from Coach Ryan. He LOVES going to jiu jitsu and is so excited when I get home every day to take him. Coach Ryan is amazing with the kids, I'm very glad we signed up. 😊

Granite Bay Jiu-Jitsu is an amazing place for your child to learn both a defensive martial art discipline and receive valuable lessons for everyday life. I have both my son and daughter in classes in different age groups and the value that Coach Ryan and his knowledgeable instructors provide are exceedingly useful, not only for developing a valuable skill, but nuturing a respectful attitude. The coaches are great with kids, especially the younger age groups. My children get more enthused and stronger in the sport after every class and I cant thank the instructors at GBJJ enough!

My 6yo son loved Granite Bay Jiu Jitsu, as did myself and his father. The focus and discipline adamantly encouraged is excellent. The only time I was dissatisfied is when my sons 1st stripe fell off in the wash and for one week he was kinda brushed off by Coach Ryan about having a new one put on. We ended up moving and unfortunately my son never got his stripe back. I also thought that there could be more thorough training on the techniques when they practiced, as my son sometimes struggled with understanding or remembering what and how he should physically construct himself. The Gracie family in general, however, is providing a very valuable service to these kids in their method of teaching. The age groups and pairings seem appropriate and they keep it fun. I would recommend it to anyone. 😊
