I can very highly recommend Master Ian Lawes and Master Debbie Lawes as top class teachers who nurtured my son`s journey from white belt to black belt in Taekwondo within a safe and well resourced Dojang. It enabled him to progress to compete at national and world class events. The confidence instilled is immense which fostered his positive early youth development including; leadership, discipline and respect for others. It focused his attention, control with structured disciplined training, increased attention span and motor skills to master complex techniques like breaking boards. He learn`t important values such as courtesy, perseverance, integrity, self-discipline, and respect.
As a parent I observed taekwondo as a dynamic martial art that offers a holistic workout, significantly improving cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and balance. Building mental resilience it gave our son focus, discipline, and self-confidence whilst acquiring practical self-defense techniques..
Back against the wall- there is only one way – forward. YES highly recommended ******
Master Lawes Family Martial Arts is a fantastic club offering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable and have a passion to pass this on to the students. Along with a selection of classes, the club provides opportunities to take part in competitions for those wishing to challenge themselves further. Taekwon-do is so much more than a martial art, teaching valuable life skills and Master Lawes Family Martial Arts does an excellent job at nurturing these qualities. I would highly recommend for anyone starting their Taekwon-do journey.
Our son has been training taekwondo at this school since he was 7 years old, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent looking for professional sports classes for children. The instructors have an excellent approach to young athletes, teaching not only taekwondo techniques but also discipline, respect, confidence, and perseverance. Over the years of training, we have seen significant development in both our son’s physical fitness and character. The atmosphere is friendly, and the classes are conducted at a very high level. It is an excellent choice for children and young people who want to develop through martial arts. We highly recommend this school as one of the best taekwondo academies in the area.
Both Master Lawes, Ian and Deb have been fantastic with our son George. He joined Ninja Dragons as a 5 year old and is now 9. They have hugely helped with his confidence outside of the sport too!! He’s soon to be joined by his little brother Jesse as this is truly a family club.
Absolutely outstanding Taekwon-Do club. The instructors are incredible with children, patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in every student’s progress. You can see the confidence, discipline, and joy they help build in the kids from the very first session.
The atmosphere is welcoming, positive, and full of energy. They strike the perfect balance between fun and structure, and every child is treated with respect and kindness. If you’re looking for a club where your child will grow not just as a martial artist but as a person, this is the place.
My son started at Ninja Dragons at the age of 5 and I can confidently say that the confidence, discipline, respect, resilience and care that the Lawes family instilled into him has helped mould him into the fine young man he has turned into.
Through 13yrs of hard work, commitment, sweat and sometimes tears our journey has ended with a well deserved black belt.
Unfortunately work and partying has taken over.
We have made the most amazing memories with our Taekwondo family and would do it all again in a heartbeat ♥️
