Fernando runs a great gym. He does a thorough job of coaching and breaking down technique to make sure all of his students properly execute the day’s training. In addition he has built a solid community of more experienced members that also go above and beyond to help out others.
Love training with Professor Fernando. All classes are packed full of incredible instruction and is very inviting. Wouldn’t pick anywhere else to train.

My daughter and i been train with Professor Fernando for over 2 years. Its a honor to learn from a real BJJ Black Belt. He has a passion for jiu jitsu that he brings to ever class. Kids, women, adults with all levels of experience. He is dedicated to teaching all his students with all the knowledge he has gained over the past 20 years. Great ,relaxed, place to train.
Very impressive academy! I would highly recommend this instructor! As a practioner of Jujitsu in another state, I was curious about how other schools operate, function, respond to outsiders, customer/ teacher/ student behavior . I arrived 5 min into his first younger class and was so surprised at how well the 7 year old students knew their stuff. Mr Fernando worked with ea student, breaking down the basics in such a easy manner for the children to understand. His friendly encouragement and humble attitude was most impressive. At this point I was so impressed I had to stay and watch another. During the break he took time to great everyone and welcome me. Then adult class began. His pleasant and cheerful attitude was reflected in his adult students as well. Start to finish, he is a first class professional and truly knows his Jujitsu. I'm 50 years old and was in horrible shape. A friend convinced me to try Jiu Jitsu and it has been amazing. Fernando Loor Vera is a great teacher. He promised me with patience and hard work it would come to me and so far he has not been wrong. I am losing weight and feeling better than I have in 20 years. I look forward to years of training with Fernando!
Not only is FLVBJJ a great place to learn for people just starting out in Jiu-Jitsu; it is great for people who have had some level of training and are looking to get their BJJ to the next level. Fernando offers instruction for beginners as well as people looking to compete at high levels of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I've had experiences at others schools before and Fernando's detailed instruction as his intensity for competition driven students has brought out the best in my performance. I am definitely happy I made the move to Fernando Loor Vera Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I've been training at FLVBJJ school for a while now and during that time I have been treated with respect and as a teammate. FLVBJJ school is a great place for anyone looking for physical fitness, self defense, or competition training.
I find the atmosphere particularly welcoming and Professor Vera is very attentive to the needs of his students; he's not only an accomplished BJJ competitor but also a highly skilled trainer/instructor and motivator; I truly beleive that's what sets FLVBJJ above other gyms.
If you want to do something that will make you physically stronger and in the best shape this is the place to learn.
I have been training with Professor Vera for about 8 months now and I love it!!!!!! As a black belt he is very active in competing in BJJ tournaments as well as giving top notch instruction to his students. The class is very well ran going from warm ups to instruction and drilling to sparring. He is always encouraging his students whether they are competing in tournaments or if they are just wanting to get into shape. I highly recommend his school to anyone looking to get into brazilian jiu jitsu or to continue their journey.

Professor Vera is able to break down techniques for the least experienced student, while at the same time providing advanced progressions for the most accomplished practitioners. The atmosphere fostered in the academy is very friendly and cooperative, yet students are encouraged to maximize their potential, as well as the potential of their training partners.
Fernando is a talented and committed instructor who cares deeply about the progress and well-being of all his students. As an accomplished black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he knows what he is talking about, but he also has the teaching skills to communicate lessons to his students. I train there with my two sons and all of us enjoy our time on the mat and the experience of being part of the community at the academy.
Great place to train. Instruction is top notch and very detailed. Professor Fernando Vera is a highly active competitor but welcomes anyone with any training goals. Effective warm-ups, great time management, intense sparring and just an overall fantastic energy on the mats.
