What started as a simple way to stay active has quickly become something I genuinely look forward to. The staff and other members are incredibly helpful, always welcoming newcomers with open arms. There are absolutely no egos here—just people focused on improving themselves and helping one another succeed. The facilities are always clean and organized, with all the necessary equipment readily available. Plus, the instructors are always on hand to answer questions or offer a spot during a workout. I honestly cannot wait until my son is old enough to start here, too

I started in Waterford Checkmat about a month ago with my 9 year old daughter. She was worried and a little scared of jiu jitsu, but the culture of this gym and the experience of the coaches keep her interested and she loves it. Because of Checkmat, she has become more confident in herself in school and also in other sports. Checkmat is excellent to learn jiu jitsu and train but its also become a place I go to have a coffee with really kind decent people. Shout out to all the coaches! If I could give 6 stars I would OSS Daniel
