I was visiting from out of state and wanted to find a local spot to drop in. Professor Matt and his team were very welcoming and I felt the quality of the instruction was among the best places I practice back home. During sparring I got the "we can turn up if you want to but let's flow it out" vibe from everyone and that speaks volumes of the environment in the best way. Safe, fun, and effective training. If I were to move to the area, I'd definitely make this gym my home. I will be back again.
Posted 8 months agoGreat gym and community with a knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great coaching, great community, great for the mind, great for the spirit, & great for the body.
Training at Zingano’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been a very rewarding experience for me. The process of learning Jiu Jitsu has been both challenging and enjoyable. I especially like the diverse group of people who train at Zingano’s. There are men and women of all ages and backgrounds who compete and participate in the sport and combat aspect of Jiu Jitsu, those that train for self-defense, others who are here to challenge themselves and still others for the fitness that Jiu Jitsu offers. On a typical day at Zingano’s, you will see kids of all ages participating in classes and their parents and grandparents watching them. There are advanced Jiu Jitsu athletes training and teaching new folks just starting their first class. Zingano’s is a place that accepts all people with different goals and this is what I like best. The entire Zingano team and family are supportive, encouraging and everyone is welcomed here! I have been doing Jiu Jitsu now since 2016 and am a Lifetime Member at Zingano’s. I plan on continuing to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Zingano’s for a long time.. I highly recommend Zingano’s if you're interested in learning traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in a friendly and open minded environment. Rob Rapier
Great place to train BJJ and Muay Thai for all levels!
Trained years ago when Mauricio was the original owner left once he passed away but forever grateful for this place and what it’s given me. Thank you. Might have to come back and see who’s the head trainer. I was known by G money if anyone remembers
They are training my grandson. We have seen improvement across the board. Home, school, his temper. Great job this is an awesome place..... Recommended for sure.
Awesome program and instructors. There are no egos or judgements, just a drive to improve and the support to do so. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities are top notch. If you're looking for a place to train with people who'll treat you like family from day one, check it out. I've been training here for about a year and have zero regrets.
I have been training Muay Thai and BJJ here for about 3 months, and can honestly say that both programs are top-notch. Even in group classes, the coaches do a great job of catering to each athletes learning style, so you don't have to worry about being left behind during drills. All of the coaches have a noticeable amount of passion for martial arts, which creates an energetic and motivated vibe during classes. One obvious difference between Zingano's and other MMA gyms I have trained at is the utilization of combinations that could be used in actual fights. Learning series of moves (which are first broken down into their most basic parts), as opposed to always isolating just one, has made my sparring/rolling much more fluid. Knowing how to transition from move to move and having the ability to plan your next step during a fight are both skills that you will acquire at Zingano's. Every class is designed to help each student consistently improve, which has helped me avoid plateaus in my training. Lastly, training at Zingano's allows me to escape the chaotic grind of daily life for an hour or two everyday. Every time I step on the mats I feel empowered, and leave the gym feeling happy and rejuvenated. I would recommend Zingano BJJ/Muay Thai to anyone, both beginners and seasoned fighters will find that it is second-to-none. I feel blessed to be trained by some of the most knowledgeable, experienced, and genuine people in martial arts, and look forward to training here for many years to come.
I've been training at Zingano BJJ for a little over 6 years now and I love it here! The gym continues to grow and we've easily got the best facility and equipment which makes for a great environment to train. The instruction is excelllent which provides students with great technique which provides great training partners which produces YOU with fantastic peronal growth in the art. Don't be hesitant any longer, come on in and feel good that your life is about to change for the better. Come catch the addiction!
I've been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) at Zingano’s for about 4 years. (MMA, wrestling, and Muay Thai are also offered). Master Zingano and his wife Cat, who is also an instructor, are not only great teachers but also great people. This is immediately obvious when you walk into Zingano’s; their positive and friendly personalities is reflected in both the quality of the instruction and the attitude of every person at the school. The first thing you will notice is that everyone is very willing to help. For me, this is a big appeal because it makes training fun. At Zingano’s I feel like I’m part of a team. The second thing you will notice is that the quality of instruction is excellent and all of the instructors like to teach. There are many details to BJJ which makes the sport interesting for me. On numerous occasions, the instructors’ ability to notice slight changes that are needed to my technique and then to be able to effectively communicate these adjustments to me have enabled me to be successful in real situations.I feel this is an outstanding school on many different levels: quality of instruction, helpful and friendly attitudes of everyone at the school, and breadth of training. If you are interested in BJJ (or MMA, wresting, and Muay Thai), this is the school to train at!
I joined Zingano BJJ a little over 2 years ago. What I was looking for, at the time, was a place where I could get a good workout and learn some valuable skills at the same time. After my first week of training there, I quickly realized that this was going to be a lifelong sport for me. First and foremost, the instructors at Zingano BJJ are top notch. They bring expert knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to their training and give equal individualized attention to everyone. It makes you feel like you're a part of a family. Which brings me to my second point -- Zingano BJJ IS a family! Everyone shares a common goal of trying to progress their Jiu Jitsu and this seems to bind students and teachers together. Those that are in this sport for the wrong reasons don't seem to last long at ZBJJ. It's a great environment for learning, training and progressing! To top it all off, I've made great friends that I hope to have for a lifetime! I give ZBJJ my highest recommendation and am truly honored to be a part of this great team.
I researched different mixed martial arts in the area for quality. I have a wrestling background and had some coaching experience at the youth level up through high school so I have always had an interest for activities on the mat. So I wanted to find a place that had a good mix but also catered to the older adult (I’m in mid-forties). What I found at Zingano was more than what I was looking for. Not only do they offer all that I was seeking but they embrace you and take you in as family. There are no egos and everyone is there to improve everyone else's Jiu Jitsu, self-confidence, physical fitness and desire to start an amazing journey for life. All of the instructors are top notch and are extremely knowledgeable of what they are teaching. My son has recently moved here and began taking classes with me and really enjoys it. The two of us and many others compete in tournaments to test our skill levels with others from different academies and the coaching staff is right there mat side helping you through your quest. Zingano is a very well ran business. I really don't think there is a better academy that I could have chosen. I absolutely love the organization and all of the people (my brothers and sisters) that I am privileged, to train with. I highly doubt you can find a better training facility or academy. Tim
About 2 years ago a buddy of mine told me to go with him to check out Zingano Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / Muay Thai gym. I really loved watching the sport and what not but I was really just going with him because he had asked me to, and not because I had intentions on training. We went to ZBJJ and I had instantly become hooked. The people were friendly and beyond welcoming and the facility was amazing. As I started training I really started to look at the gym as a home away from home. Zingano BJJ/Muay Thai absolutely wrecks when they go to tournaments and when the fighters have MMA fights because of the Coaches and Training partners we have; Master Zingano who was given his Black belt by Caique Gracie and 5 time World Lumpinee Muay Thai Champ Sakmongkol are the head instructors around here. My teammates push me everyday and its definitely for the better. My confidence and work ethic has grown in the past 2 years and I owe it all to the decision of joining ZBJJ. Whether you are looking to lose some weight, gain some cardio and confidence or trying to fight in the cage one day, ZBJJ is definitely the place you want to come see.
I have been training at Zingano's for a little over a year and can honestly say, as corny as it sounds, in that short period of time it has changed my life. First and foremost, Master Z is an excellent teacher, coach and mentor. The class structure that he and his instructors have created blends the right amount of technical breakdown with live drilling and sparring so that every time I leave the school, I've got another skill or detail to add to my game. Every instructor is knowledgeable, not just on techniques, but on how to break them down for easy digestion for students of all levels and abilities. Did I mention Professor Zingano has the sickest leg locks in town, or that Kru Mong is one of the best Muay Thai fighters of all time? When you train here, you get a chance to train with some of the best. Beyond the intimate and technical knowledge of BJJ, Master Z has created a real community within the school itself. More than just a gym to train, Zingano's has become a place I go for fellowship and camaraderie. Egos are checked at the door, and I feel welcomed by everyone, from fellow white belts to the upper belt students, to the instructors and Master Z and his family. The school is home to a diverse and impressive group for people who want to train in Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, or MMA, and everyone embraces the opportunity to help each other learn and grow. Again, while it may sound contrived or silly, it really is a family atmosphere. In the year I have spent training there, I have learned more about myself than I realized was possible in such a short period of time. As an added bonus, I've lost almost 15 pounds and four inches off my waist, and I'm healthier than I've been in perhaps my whole life, all while in my late 30s. I can't recommend training Jiu Jitsu highly enough, and Zingano's is definitely the place to learn if you're in the North Denver area and want top notch instruction.
I started training at Zingano BJJ over 4 years ago and have loved every day of it. When I first decided to start training I visited a few different gyms and tried them out. I was pretty discouraged due to the unwelcome feeling I got from others when walking in the first time. A friend of mine who was also interested in training told me about Zingano's and the fact that it was across the street from my office sounded great. We called and set up an appointment to come and check it out and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. We were greeted by Master Zingano himself and were made to feel right at home. The gym was huge, clean, and very welcoming. We took the tour and signed up for our free trial membership. My first day on the mat was slightly nerve racking as I didn't know what to expect. To my surprise everyone was very friendly, willing to help, and had great attitudes. The other coaches were very knowledgable and not arrogant in any way. After two classes I signed up to train full time. Over the years I have seen tons of new programs added to make this a better place to train. With the addition of MMA, wrestling, and Muay Thai which is taught by one of the greatest in the world, Zingano's has only gotten better. The locker rooms were recently remodeled giving more room and an additional shower. It just keeps getting better. I would recommend anyone interested in training at any level to come and train with the Zingano family. You won't be disappointed.
30 day free trial was a great way to really test out the gym,but I could see after the first class that I was at the right place. Incredible place to train and to get the family involved with. I have my wife and 2 girls training as well, and we could not be happier! All the coaches are incredible, great and very clean facility and super friendly environment. clean:) Professor Zingano and Coach Mong are top notch!!!
Simply put, this is the best facility in the region with high-level instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Mixed Martial Arts. Highly recommended.
I met Professor Zingano in 2004 after checking into other places and I knew instantly that Zingano BJJ was the place for me. Since my first class I have been hooked. The instruction is amazing and the students are all like family. I have grown a great deal as a person. Training has helped me channel my stress into a creative art, I quit smoking and have embraced a whole new lifestyle. Zingano BJJ truly is one of the best things I have incorporated into my life.
Their jiu jitsu instruction -is- very good. That said, their muay thai program is lacking. Going there a year, I never felt like I had one solid muay thai class. They also made me pay for two extra months at full price after my year was up, $200 per month while I wasnt attending, and I just wanted my subscription ended. They told me they would try to see about refunding me one month, but never followed through. The vibe they give off is that they care more about your money. I would say its pretty overpriced for whats offered as well. If you live in the area and are looking for a legit gym, I would suggest ludwigs or grudge instead.
Minus 2 stars for customer service. I had a sudden move during one of the covid spikes that put me living in Black Hawk. Didn't attend for a few months and realized I was being charged still. Played phone tag for 3 weeks trying to cancel just to have them finally tell me I need to come in in person to sign. This was after I told them that it is no longer convenient for me to attend do to over an hour commute and change in work schedule. I came in one day at 4:30, not realizing they are completely closed. Called hoping I could get an answer but there number just sends you to a voicemail EVERY SINGLE TIME. They are worse than big corporate gyms with how they handle someone trying to cancel. Minus 1 star for lack of class availability. 10am and 7pm being the only times for a newcomer to make a class is tough. Minus 1 star for muay thai training. Paying $200 a month and spending multiple classes doing ladder footwork drills that the head coach did in high shool is a bit silly.
