Great school and sort of a low key hidden gem. This is NOT Brazilian Jiujitsu. Their "lineage" has deep roots in combative Hawaiian Jujitsu and US military Judo, by way of American servicemen stationed at Fort Snelling back in the day. A real modern American/Minnesota story! A typical class starts off with warmup, followed by a traditional jujitsu self-defense curriculum, some instruction on techniques for the day, and then they get straight into bagwork, sparring and rolling. I had to stop going due to unrelated health reasons but this was by far the most practical school I had joined where you can pick up effective self defense skills immediately. Safety is greatly emphasized. Amazing how much you can get done in only an hour! As I understand, their more competitive students attend local grappling & combative tournaments with great success. A humble, friendly, no-nonsense school with a great instructor!
