If you are even remotely interested in trying muay thai, kali, bjj or other forms of martial arts, I highly recommend doing a trial at MKG. I have been going here for around 7 months now and it has been one of the best things I have done for my body and mind. First, about the company; all the instructors are lovely people who are entirely there to help you succeed. They are experts at what they teach and know how to give you individual attention and advice. You won't pay an arm and a leg for somebody to not know your name after 4 months and teach you mediocre Americanized martial arts. The gym's culture will push you to do your best but isn't toxic or negatively competitive. I have come to look forward to seeing the people I train with there and will often stay longer just to talk with them. Another thing I will say about a workout in itself: I have left the gym absolutely drained, and I have left not even having broken a sweat. You get what you put into it, and if your goal is a good workout, you can most definitely find that here, though it might take a while in technical classes like Kali since you move slow at the beginning. The gym itself is spacious and has plenty of room to train, stretch, weight lift, you name it. There is also room to grow within the gym: training seminars with experts from wherever, camps, a yearly international event, and so much more.

My experience of MKG is primarily based on seminars held in the UK and hosted by Guro Rick Faye and his excellent team consisting of Guro Linda Ramsay. While I'm not an actual member, I feel I have been welcomed into the family just as any other member might be. The seminars are second to none, with experienced guidance in different disciplines of martial arts. I can wholeheartedly recommend the MKG family for anyone looking to start their journey in Martial Arts

I dropped in a few Saterday's here and there. I explained that I live a long ways away. they have the friendliest staff. The wealth of their instructors in mind blowing. So many disciplines taught there to learn.

If you want to train muay thai, grab your purse and run as far as you can away from this place. You would probably gain more endurance in that one run than a couple months of training here. The only enjoyable class is on the weekend (not taught by the head coach), otherwise you’d probably be better off binge watching netflix on your couch. Everyone he is super nice except for the head muay thai coach. He gives no feedback and doesn’t seem to care about anyone’s personal progress. The building is also super dirty, I might have contracted a skin infection from this place. Also way too expensive for what you’re getting. Stay far away from the muay thai program. Also had an insane interaction with a jiujitsu coach who asked me after class if I was traumatized or if I “practiced prayer”, it was very off putting. I regret the couple months that I spent here.

This gym is great for all levels and of skill and intensity. It has a friendly welcoming atmosphere that is geared toward fitness and learning for beginners all the way up to people who want to spar. The wide range of different arts and teachers keeps it fun and makes it easy to find what you like and what suits you.
