For young martial artists, UJJ expertly balances fun with disciplined training. Our kids have been a part of the UJJ Community for years, and we have seen them grow both physically and in terms of self-discipline. Coach Stan is great at encouraging kids, while also continuing to hold firm to the standards for class-time and advancement. The All Access Plan is an amazing deal if you (or your kids) are committed to learning BJJ.

Coach Riser is incredible at providing practical, self-defense based Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to kids and adults. I’ve been attending classes there for about two years. My teenage son also attends class with me. We both find it rewarding and challenging, and we love the purposeful roughhousing! Class material is shared in a systematic and comprehensive way, and progress is checked with testing. We’re so lucky to have UJJ in our neighborhood, and we’re looking forward to enrolling my youngest sons when they get old enough.

Stan is the best. I've tried many gyms around the area and he breaks things down in a simple and easy to understand way. Phenomenal, plus learning lots of real-world self defense techniques.

The Professor (instructor) is the absolute best! His classes are structured, he is firm, but also fun. He explains complex moves in a way that’s easy for anyone to understand. It is clear that he cares about his students & is passionate about Jiu Jitsu. The classes are so worth while that we go across the cities 2x a week to attend. Highly recommended!!

Coach riser is awesome and his class and the students help you to become a better person. I cannot recommend this more, wether it be physical fitness or just a better grapple game, coach riser and United jiu jitsu will help you achieve your goals.

Absolutely a wonderful place to get your kid into BJJ. Professor Riser is amazing! Extremely knowledgeable, incredibly patient and great with kids. There seems to be the perfect balance of aerobic exercise, grappling and discipline. Keep up the great work, Professor Riser.

I'm a beginner to BJJ. Stan is a great teacher, you are getting a ton of value for the monthly price. All the students I've interacted with are great, they are more than willing to help you improve

The instructor here is amazing. He does a great job of connecting with each student and making the class very fun. He always answers my questions and shows me different scenarios of how to defend myself. As a female self-defense is very important just to have in the back of your hand. he teaches you the basics and will move on to more advanced stuff, but the basics will be the ones that will save you. I'm a smaller female so I always ask him how to alter something so that I can do it. I've gained a lot of confidence and a great friend from him

Nothing but good things to say about this place! This is my son's haven. 😍 Professor Stan has been so patient and a great model for my son. He teaches the importance of self defense and respect in the most kind but firm way. I have seen some improvements in my son's behavior and mindset along with great self defense skills. Hard to go anywhere else. I highly recommend this place.

Professor Stan Riser is a hidden gem! He's a BJJ Black Belt from a very strong lineage cultured around the Guerilla BJJ System. I've visited, trained and have enrolled in many gyms in the past i.e.. locally (St. Paul BJJ Academy, 10th Planet BJJ, The Cellar), and I have to say that this gym truly feels like home to me. The value and training for your money is second to none! Coach Riser is a natural teacher who inspires you to keep coming back! He's excellent with kids 5 and older to full blown BJJ adult competition practitioners. No one feels left out here, and from the minute you walk in, you'll feel like family! I highly recommend this, in fact I love this place so much, I signed up my whole family including my kids!

Coach Stan is the real deal - a great coach and mentor for my son, a strong teacher and an impressive athlete. We have had only good experiences. (Side note: the studio is across the street from Target, so I can drop my son off, run errands and be back in time to watch what he has learned in class.)

Professor Riser is a first rate teacher. Super engaging with our kiddos. After spending a significant amount of time in other gyms, it's obvious he has the patience to make learning jiu jitsu fun and easy . He is also takes safety seriously. When we couldn't be in person, my kids really looked forward to the online classes. I would recommend United Jiu Jitsu any day.

I've known Stan for at least 10 years now and he has been my BJJ instructor for several years as well. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts are not common and that is for a good reason. It takes an amazing amount of work, dedication and accomplishment to get there. Stan has also proven his skills in competition many times and he has the medals to prove it. Stan is also one of Jeremy Anderson's black belts who is also a massively talented BB that is under Dave Camarillo and Klint Klaas. I've utilized what he teaches on a daily basis which has raised my grappling game immensely along with my fellow students. I look forward to every class I attend.

Knowledgeable on several disciplines, Coach Riser is patient and a great educator. (Really good with kids) Coach Riser emphasizes discipline and respect through the martial arts. We’ve been with him since the summer of 2015, with great results.
