Attended the open day recently and was incredibly impressed. The campus has a fantastic atmosphere, and the facilities are top-notch. A huge thank you to the staff and computing department who were so welcoming and took the time to answer all my questions about the course structure and student life. It really helped give me a clear picture of what studying here would be like!"

I attended this university years ago and the trauma is still with me. I stepped away from higher education because of it. Lecturer used to make smug comments at me about people only attending university to collect student loans. She was promoted to head of my course and made my life hell. I fell ill and emailed to say that I would be taking time off and when I came back I was asked to attend a meeting to check on my welfare in which I was ambushed by FOUR lectures who bullied me to the point of tears. In the meeting I said I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be there anymore (because of the way I was treated) and she smugly told me that I should let her know my decision ASAP and that if I choose to stay that she would be watching me and if I considered transferring anywhere else that I should remember that I would need a reference. I was shocked!! I withdrew from my course a week later in tears and she emailed my Local authority immediately to stop any grant payments as that’s obviously why she thought I was there. I never went back to university to finish my course even though I wanted to because i was distraught and never wanted to be treated that way again. To this day I have no idea why this woman targeted me. I checked their website and she’s still working there and I am stuck with the student debt after being bullied off my course!!

Support is virtually non-existent. I’m currently studying for a Master’s degree here, and I genuinely regret choosing this university. I previously completed my BA at the University of Essex, where the level of support was significantly better. The difference has been striking. While there are opportunities to resit assessments here, the academic support and communication have been extremely poor, making it difficult to get the help needed to succeed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this university. Staff are quite blunt and rude, must be a northern thing 🤷‍♂️

If you are a parent and moving your kid into or out of accommodation at Clarice Cliff Court please BEWARE that the car park right outside the building WILL FINE YOU for using it. There are two tiny signs attached to buildings nearby, not obvious and in your face that say 15 minutes max. We two cars to move 2 students belongings into storage then returned to collect those 2 students and the things they needed at home over the summer and received 4 x £70 fines. The surrounding roads are double-yellow lined, so you're stuffed no matter what you do. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. The accommodation itself isn't too bad though.

I made sure to check before applying that they would consider a non traditional applicant with a low grade for their under graduate, which i was told in no uncertain terms they would. After spending hours and weeks on submitting an application, i recieve news that my application was rejected for not meeting criteria. It's this kind of incompetencey that is just totally unacceptable and has literally wasted 4 weeks of my life. I wouldnt even want to go now i have had a taste of how they operate and treat students.
