Bought my daughter here to learn something new, ended up signing myself up, been here for years ever since. The gym has a mixture of students across all levels, with different backgrounds and reasons for training - it’s easy to find great people to learn with. Horizon offers a variety of classes across a packed timetable, with affordable prices for both PAYG and monthly membership. Posted 1 year agoI started about 8+ weeks ago and I absolutely love it there! When I first started I felt quite nervous because I had never done anything like it, but Jon and everyone there has made me feel so comfortable, everyone there is all so lovely and helpful. Jon explains everything so well, make it’s all very easy to understand and is always happy to help! I really recommend Horizon, I try to go 2-3 times a week and I look forward to going to every lesson!
Posted 1 year agoJiu-jitsu is an extremely technical sport, which takes years to master. After a lot of thought, I signed up for the beginner course, but still a bit reluctant as I was stepping into a new environment. However, Jon, my mentor who led the course, made it very easy for me to start and a took a calm methodical approach to teaching me as a beginner. Being able to see slowed down demonstrations of real-life situations was extremely helpful. Jon's explanations of techniques were eloquent, practical, and easy to understand. Starting a new sport is always the hardest part, but having a great teacher helps calm the nerves and makes it enjoyable, so you keep coming back to learn more. I couldn't recommend this place more for beginners or people wanting a new challenge. Amazing people all round!
Posted 1 year agoI did BJJ here for around 3 months while I was working in the area. Top quality training by Jon, I was made to feel incredibly welcome. I miss training here, and if I'm ever in the area I will definitely be going back.
Posted 1 year agoFantastic place to learn BJJ and meet new people. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the coaches are all helpful and keen to share knowledge. I started training several months ago after putting it off for a long while and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
