Training with Brandon has been absolutely awesome. He’s incredibly patient, down-to-earth, and really personalizes the sessions to keep them engaging. I initially started working with him to get into MMA, and even after I had to take a break because of an injury, he got me right back on track when I returned. Brandon’s teaching style is straightforward and super patient, which helped me a lot. He even noticed that I play handball and worked some handball techniques into our training just to keep things interesting for me. It’s that kind of creativity and attentiveness that really makes him stand out. Overall, he’s just a great trainer who’s easy to talk to and really committed to helping you improve. I’ve worked with a couple of other trainers before, but Brandon is definitely the one I’d recommend any day.
Posted 11 months agoUFC - Trainers - Youth Fitness Classes! Great start joining the gym for my grandson and helping him just not on the techniques during the classes but building a rapport and assisting him with his confidence! All super trainers and staff. Kudos to Derrick, Larry and Spyridon for all their efforts with my grandson. The staff is very approachable and professional.
Posted 1 year agoThe trainer, John Lively, is incredible. Extremely knowledgeable as well as personable. He caters towards my needs and goals. I always look forward to my sessions with him.
Gyms in general have been an intimidating place for me and I would only step inside one to drop my boys off for a class. However, Coach Arriale Starbird changed this all for me. As a middle-aged mom who hadn’t worked out since HS (which was over 30 years ago) and in recovery after a diastasis repair surgery (for ab muscles that had a separation of 10cm), my range in mobility was very limited. I had no core strength, low stamina and weak muscles. After working with Coach Arriale for 2 months, I really feel like a new person. I now love going to the gym and have a full range of motion so that I can enjoy learning kickboxing and jiujitsu, and comfortably use all the machines at the gym. I am so grateful for the thoughtfully structured private sessions and the encouraging coaching that change is possible. Coach Arriale, you are an amazing coach and you gave me a new life. So appreciate you! My son and I are also working with Coach John Lively and he is absolutely wonderful. With a specialty background in physiology, his exercises target the areas that need focus and my son (and I) really enjoys working with him. I have to also mention Coach Spyridon (jujitsu class) and Coach Kevin (kickboxing skills) for welcoming a beginner so warmly to class and knowing how to integrate a modified version for my novice level so that I could easily participate and really learn. They are great teachers. Finally, all the staff members at UFC are very helpful and kind. I’m really glad I joined, thank you UFC!
I enjoy this gym at the time I go. No gym Bros and I pretty much get the machines and racks I need.
My family and I belong to the bjj program. I could not be anymore pleased with the gym and the staff. Huge facility. Something for everyone here. 5 stars.
I’ve been a member for a while in the jujitsu program. I love the gym, the staff and the classes. The day care is awesome.
Great gym, not many gyms on Long Island have a a weight room this size, plus a sauna, that is 24 hours most days of the week. Members could work on putting their weights back when they are done though. Gym is great, has a great variety of machines, a nice juice bar (armbar), great staff, and a great recovery section. There's a guy who works the front desk Friday nights, that guy is legit. I don't know what they are paying him, but he should be getting double or even triple, he's that good.
I see many people complaining about ufc gym. But they dont know anything about gyms. There is no other gym better. Mention one! That has everything you need to get fit and also learn self defence. Humor me, mention one….
Ive been going to this gym for almost a year now and i got to say that this is rhe best gym I've ever been to. I love the vast machines that are almost always available (despite some packed days ofc). Lots of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. The Arm Bar is also full with great protein drinks and pre-made meals for post workouts. My favourite is the Muay Thai Punch.
I’ve been a member at this gym for a couple of years now (before COVID) and I absolutely love it! The 24 hours during the week + the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes w/ Professor Kevin and Kickboxing w/ Coach Gary are amazing! I highly suggest asking for Matthews if you’re interested in signing up!
Been a member for a month now. If you tryna get jacked , this is the gym to go to. Although not a perfect gym. If I had to be nitpicky Like the benches aren't the best and finding plates for the machines can be a bit of a chore . Beware of the trainers tryna get you to sign up. Your wallet will be empty. Overall it's a great gym
By far the best gym I’ve ever been to. They have a plethora of machines and ample free weights. The staff is friendly, and the class teachers are excellent, especially for kickboxing. However, certain people who go to this gym are absolutely inconsiderate of the people around them. They will walk in front of you in the free weight section to do their own exercise with no regard for whoever is standing around them. They will walk into your path and bump into you with no regard. Quite a few of these dudes throw the weights around and kick them like soccer balls when they have to put them back. (Tall, weird dude who’s always walking in front of other people, but will yell at others if they get in front of him when he’s doing his thing. With awful form, might I add.) Just today he ran over my toes with a dumbbell. Are you that pathetic that you can’t lift the weight you were just holding and put it back? You want attention or something? Great gym, but some of the clients are truly annoying to be around.
There should be more gyms like this in new york , Mixture of martial arts and weightlifting has every thing you could need. The gym is 24 hours tuesday, wednesday and thursday which is great(make the gym 24 hours monday-thursday maybe?). Staff members Richie and Alyssa are awesome richie is super helpful and a joy to talk to you can tell the people who he’s training enjoy their time at the gym. Last thing love how they keep the gym temperature warm
I really like this Gym! I train with Coach Kevin Baracaldo and he is Amazing, hands down!. I am in my weight loss journey and he makes my interest for Mixed Martial arts - Muay Thai be so exciting to exercise. The way he puts his dedication to stimulate you and support you to push through your limits .... its phenomenal . He is so knowledgeable and so good at what he does. Im glad this GYM offer coaches like him. 🙏🏽👌🏽
The best gym I’ve been to so far. W employees, W machines, a lil on the crowded side but that’s bound to happen due to how good the gym is. 💪😎
It was first time in a gym that big, I went with my friend and for my first time working out there and just looking around I could tell that the equipment and the people who train there have very good vibes. I'm definitely getting a membership here. This is my gym from now on.
Started my membership Jan.3 .I had pain in my knees for 10 years. It was only getting worse. Did about two months of physical therapy at Optum Health ONCOLOGY that was helping. At the gym I HAVE been going every day. I NO LONGER HAVE KNEE PAIN. Work on my knees every other day. They have all the equipment you will need. Exercise your legs and you will be happy. I’m not a social reviewer but I can’t imagine a better one for my 1st review than UFC New Hyde Park. My family and I have been members of other fitness places in our town but have called UFC our gym for the past few years now. We absolutely love the ‘community’ that management has created here. Club Manager, Rafael, is a sweetheart. He treats every club member the same; he’s friendly, approachable and supportive. The staff also exemplifies his character from the crew at the front desk to the awesome kid's room attendants to the wonderful cleaning personnel. Also, erase the perceptions that you have to be an MMA fighter to be a member here, lol. Although, its impressive and inspirational seeing the Octagon in the gym, every age group, gender, experience level and body type are welcomed here. We have an affordable family membership that gives us access to their yoga, cycling, boxing, MMA and DUT classes as well as their killer shred total body workouts. The floor space is ample - there is never a wait for a treadmill, stepper or circuit machine, and their free weights area is open to women, teens, body builders and lifters of all stages. All of their trainers and coaches, especially Coaches Brandon and Kevin, and Personal Trainer Jude, are amazing and top notch! They have a recovery area with a cryotherapy chamber which takes your post-workout to another level. Thank you, UFC Long Island! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else for health/wellness needs!
Just wanted to give a quick shout out to my local gym UFC. It’s got a great community vibe. Everyone there is friendly, but they are there to work. It’s not a club scene. The staff always has a smile on their face and a warm greeting when you walk in. I am always inspired by seeing retirees, students, moms and dads who are juggling a lot of things and still finding time to squeeze in a work out, however small. The gym is for everyone, not just people who look or want to look big and muscular. The manager Richie Baierwalter does a good job of keeping the show running smoothly. Not an easy task I’m sure. If you’re able to give up going out to eat a couple of times a week, and are willing to treat yourself to a training session, you will definitely get your moneys worth. It’s not about lifting heavy weights. It’s about doing it the right way. They have an excellent team of trainers there. They make you feel comfortable and teach you a lot. You’ll feel more confident working out on your own afterwards. There’s a ton of classes to take there too. (I still can’t believe I’m actually taking yoga classes... That balance stuff is hard!) Try out the smoothies there too. The medium Batman smoothie for seven bucks is always a refreshing and nourishing treat after a good workout.
Been a member of this gym for about 10years now. Great location, tons of parking and the staff (front desk, sales and trainers) are all amazing. You won’t be disappointed. The classes are also wonderful and a great supplemental workout.
Love UFC gym the atmosphere and staff are very kind and professional! They care about you and achieving your goals. Love Coach Tadriek aka Coach Todd! He is an excellent personal trainer and leads killer fitness classes. So glad he was paired with me. When at UFC ask for Coach T 😊😊😊
I Just Love UFC GYM!! The Staff is So Courteous and Accommodating!! Very Kind!! And most of all SUPPORTIVE
My experience has been a great joy! Our large family has been looking for a gym to accommodate all our needs, physically challenging classes for adults, activities for the big kids, and childcare for our littles. UFC had it all! Finances are also a major concern with a large family and UFC by far provided the highest value. Jorge at the Garden city location, especially, our customer rep, has gone above and beyond our expectations with answering all our questions, securing the best financial plan for our needs, and getting us settled into the facilities. I have been a member of multiple gyms and explored countless others. UFC exceeds them all!
I feel this is an excellent gym. Coach Kevin (great teacher and fighter) and all the other coaches I've met are great! Management recently did an excellent refresh but due to the very high number of members in this club, all the equipment gets a lot of wear and tear. On my wish list is a refresh of the bathrooms and sauna (thank you for even having one!!) and more vacuuming of the floors because they really need it. Overall, a solid 4 stars considering the affordable rates compared to Lifetime.
Posted 11 months agoFree weights and cardio machines are at a good price. They have been creating different tiers of service. The group classes will definitely help you lose weight. Check for Black Friday deals. The parking lot is pretty full from 5pm to 7pm.
I love this gym BUT they need to replace the shower heads. Only 1 of 5 men’s shower heads are good.
Better than other gyms. Weights are where they should be unlike LA fitness. Gets busy after work but it’s a lowkey gym during morning
Cool spot..UFC gym never disappoints..this one right here has extra things that over here UFC gym chicago don't have.. People were very easy to work with.. If i go again to NY..Definitely going to stop there again.. The only thing i gotta fix is.. for some reson..they couldn't see my UFC gym chicago membership..
Awesome gym, has everything you want & need to work out. Training wise, classes are good, but they no longer allow sparring unless it's with a trainer & for a trainer to supervise, you are required to buy a personal trainer bundle. I've gone to several UFC gyms over 4 years & was able to spar with other members, coaches, and friends with no supervision. Even at this location, I'm not sure why it changed. It's the only flaw of the gym, which I hope they remove & let people spar when & whoever they wish without a trainer.
Solid gym. Lots of squat racks, platforms and cages to choose from. Standard leg equipment . Being a UFC gym and having access to fight classes and boxing was a big reason I signed up. They have people giving free samples of various performance products which is cool. Loads of free weights . The place is never super busy so you can get a good workout in. The BJJ mats could use a good cleaning down as I went home reeking from sweat on my clothes and I don’t sweat. Also the benches are pretty garbage compared to the other gym I have a membership at . Having the head piece that far out and the bars used mess up my form so much I stopped benching here. Cool that they added the Cryo Chamber and more recovery stations . Also the bathrooms are always clean and having a complementary hairdryer for after showering is a nice perk. Parking lot could use a revamp as pot holes are coming in. Also the signs LED has been out for a bit but that’s picky. Otherwise solid gym. Having only ONE UFC on the island is the primary reason I probably won’t re up once my membership expires. It’s just really inconvenient not having the farmingdale location anymore
I’ve been coming to this gym for about 4 or 5 years now because I wanted access to a gym that had bags and mats to train for boxing and MMA. I’ve been in personal training on and off during that time and my current trainer Zach is great. He’s an intense trainer in terms of really pushing you with heavier weights and less rest periods but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Don’t forget to count with him otherwise you may do a few extra reps lol. I definitely give him 5/5 stars and feel like I’ve been progressing in the few weeks we’ve been training. I’m only taking 1 star from the gym as a whole because there are machines that tend to be out of service for a while and sometimes the music is too loud for my taste. I’d recommend seeing if you can join on a guest pass first to see if it’s for you but I genuinely enjoy coming here and getting in a good workout.
I only go to the gym from the time it opens so this review only applies to the atmosphere those times. Basically the gym has retuned to normal as far as cleanliness pre pandemic. Yes there are some wipes available to use to wipe down the maschines but no one uses them anymore and they are placed in very few locations. The bathrooms aren’t the cleanest at these times and there has always been an issue with water accumulation on the counters next to the faucets. They have replaced and added some equipment. The monthly fee has increased but it’s only a few bucks. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like they are going to be open 24 hours 7 days a week like before the pandemic but the hours now are sufficient. Towels are a thing of the past also so bring your own.
Equipment is good and most members promote a friendly environment. Wish there were more squat racks though. Only 6 squat racks when there are 100+ daily gym goers. Same thing for benches but those free up quicker than the squat racks
I'm editing my 1 star review because things have improved. The equipment seems to be in better shape. In fact, they got some new and great treadmills. My daughter recently started going more often to their daycare. She has lots of fun, and the staff are always happy to see her.
Good for a 24 hour gym. I personally haven't experienced most of the negatives that is being said on some of these other reviews. I have a simple membership, so most of the negative reviews wouldn't pertain to my situation, but if I were you I will still beware. Cleanliness is hit or miss depending what part of the day or like anywhere else which employees they have at the time as some employees care more than others. Been a member close to when it first opened. Seems to be like a roller coaster in terms of its cleanliness (it has its up and down times), but lately they have been doing a better job.
I really like the gym and Abdul was fantastic as a personal trainer. He educated me and acted as a trusted advisor. I highly recommend everyone taking at least one personal training package HOWEVER... there are drawbacks to being a member here... parking is horrendous to the point of people parking on the dirt dividers. if you plan on working out after work try it for a week see how you feel. I prepaid for 3 years and I was coming at 5AM now I have to go in with loads of patience if I plan on going from 5-8PM. They have flexible payment options depending on if you want to join group classes so that's a plus.
The music is so ridiculously loud it's nightclub level. With earbuds on to listen to my music I have to blast the volume on them and the gym music still comes through. I unavoidably have to take quick phone calls for work at random hours and I have to literally run to a corner of the bathroom, run out the door or to a corner in the juice bar to even attempt to take a call. I wish they would play the volume at a normal level. I like the gym, the equipment is recently refreshed and even before that was better taken care of than other gyms I have been to. 24 hours during the week is awesome but I do with the weekend hours were later because I can't make it here after work on weekends and work 7 days a week. This gym would be a 4.5 stars if it wasn't for the music blaring.
Posted 1 year agoI was a member at UFC for a few years. I trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The gym is open early and they have ample equipment. However, UFC could be cleaner and maintenance is an issue. Not the same since COVID. Canceling your membership can be a hassle.
I have trained in this gym for a total of 4 years between COVID lockdowns, so I can provide substantial insight about this place. I'll strive to be as objective as possible. In summary, I would say it deserves 3 stars. The gym boasts great infrastructure, but it's evident that maintenance is a challenge. In business terms, we'd call it a "white elephant" - impressive but costly to maintain. As part of a corporation, they seem to cut corners wherever possible. This likely explains the lack of cleanliness in bathrooms and poor building maintenance. Several walls have mold painted black to conceal it, and there are leaks during rainy weather. As a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, my experience primarily comes from Jiu-Jitsu classes. The current coach, Kevin Baracaldo (mentioned negatively in another review), warrants another critical mention. He's a moody individual with apparent daddy issues. He portrays himself as an exemplary employee but breaks rules without consequences, seemingly lacking honor while protecting his position. He's probably another underpaid corporate employee. Having visited other Jiu-Jitsu academies in the area and trained at Royal Jiu-Jitsu for two years, I can confidently say the Jiu-Jitsu quality at this gym is subpar. For a slightly higher fee, you'll have a far superior experience and learning process at a place like Royal Jiu-Jitsu, where you train with world-class champions. Many black belts go there to learn. Ask how many go to learn from Kevin Baracaldo or Brandon Adames. The answer: None. These two instructors constantly try to sell students their in-house tournaments where you only compete with gym partners. It's clear they're trying to hustle for extra income, likely due to being underpaid corporate employees. Conclusion While the gym has impressive facilities, the lack of maintenance, cleanliness issues, and subpar Jiu-Jitsu instruction quality significantly impact the overall experience. The questionable behavior of some instructors further detracts from the gym's appeal. Consider exploring other options in the area for a better value and learning experience.
Good equipment, but it’s a chore to find weights to use on the bars and for the machines… the people that work out here are great, with great etiquette Music is ridiculously loud, I feel like I’m in those old time dance clubs… absurd, dirtiest gym I’ve been to.
I have been a member in this gym ever since it opened (10 years ago). The first 4-5 years was outstanding. Then it started going down. It's still a good gym, but nowhere close to what it used to be. It took them 3 months to fix the sauna, which is filthy btw.
I finished working out at UFC Gym over a year ago. I loved the gym. It was clean, had tons of machines, weights, great locker room, etc. I signed up for TWO sets of personal training sessions, for which I paid a tidy sum. Also, I had to pay monthly for the usage of the gym even though I HAD to go to the gym to access my trainer, James S. I gave him a glowing review on Yelp BEFORE he didn't accommodate my last 5 training sessions! (I was going through a lot at the time. I had just gotten engaged, was moving out to Suffolk County and was helping care for my friend's kids.) The fact that James was not so accommodating to me, especially after I'd been an excellent client and purchased items from UFC to "help his stats for sales". I am in the market for another gym here in Suffolk but am afraid to get "burned" again.
Decent gym with plenty of equipment. Though many machines take a while to get repaired. Friendly staff. Parking gets limited during peak hours.
The place is ok for a close by gym. However if you come at peak times, parking and the inside can be horrendous. Nowadays I don't think there's a minimum age to join the gym and it's filled with 12 year olds talking in groups around machines or hogging up multiple free weights to sit around and be on their phone. Also they sometimes take forever to fix broken equipment even though they have a ton of members and money coming in.
I’ve been coming here for years because it has always been a great gym. After covid and management change everything has gone down hill. Machines are always broken, benches/seats torn up, the cables don’t have proper clips for attachments, there’s never any sanitizer or napkins and now in the middle of the heat wave they don’t even turn on the one fan they have to have air circulating. They’ve raised the monthly fee twice to bring in recovery machines and yet if you want to use them you have to upgrade your membership and pay even more. If you ask management for anything they brush you off. Not sure what happened.
Gym could be cleaner and sometimes things take a while to be fixed. Absolutely not 24 hours so if you’re looking to lift late Friday/Saturday or after work on a Sunday - don’t go here. On the bright side, not many places in the area with as many dumbbells, bags, kettlebells and squat racks.
Has all your needs if you power lift luckily, but the staff don't really care for the space - bathroom is generally a mess most hours and weights are usually spread everywhere. Most equipment usually works unless it breaks which takes weeks to fix
Gym was ok. The price is high for what it is and training sessions are the same deal too. They’re in business to get as many members as they can. They can help themselves by lowering the membership and training rates to get more people to sign up. The gym was pretty much inaccessible via bicycle during the winters though. That’s the bad thing with the location, coming from Queens. The bathrooms need some cleaning. Anyways, I left New York already and doing my own thing with a fitness app I’m constantly working on elsewhere.
Gym has so much potential. Unfortunately it is not manged well. Hygiene is disgusting. I've never seen mats cleaned. I saw a guy cleaning it once with the same bucket after doing bathroom. Needs better management.
Criminals once again. Charged me for 2 months after I cancelled the membership. They blamed it on a computer glitch... we call that fraud. There is not management not service at this gym. Garbage all over the locker room, showers are broken, water everywhere, bathrooms are dirty, machines and utilities broken.... for months on. Until someone feels like fixing them. Music is so loud you can hear yourself think. Locker rooms smell.
Been to plenty of gyms, and this one fails on so many levels. Now, I can't speak for the level of the classes/instruction, but the gym itself is pretty much impossible to work out in from 5pm-10pm, which is the time most people would be attending after working during the week. I have to fight for a parking spot most days, and have circled the lot for as long as 20 minutes before being able to go inside the facility. There are simply not enough spaces. Once inside, I am welcomed by blaring music and enough people to make me believe I was at a rave, not a gym. Because the gym peaks after 5pm, getting free weights or benches can be a struggle. If you go to the bathroom to change, be prepared for questionably sticky floors, water everywhere, and at least one stall or urinal out of order. I can't stress enough how loud the music is, so bringing a pair of noise cancelling headphones is necessary. Sometimes even that isn't enough to drown out the obnoxiously loud instructors who are mic'd up and cheering on their clients for literally everybody in the gym to hear. Doesn't matter where you go in the gym, you will hear them, so avoid the classes that go on at 6pm Tuesdays to Thursdays. Honestly, the most disappointing part is the gym is advertised as a 24 hour facility. There was a Saturday I went earlier this year when the gym typically closes early. The patrons and I were given maybe 4 loud warnings over their PA system in the last hour to wrap up our exercises. In the last ten minutes, staff turned the lights off in the restroom/changing room while people were still in there changing! I don't understand why a gym would be advertised as 24 hours except on the days where most people would benefit, on the weekends where they are free. I walked out the earlier this week because I could not focus with the sheer noise. It's beyond distracting. The membership is cheap for a reason. You'd be better off going somewhere else. Staff here is very friendly and helpful, so I hate to leave such a low review, but the place needs some serious adjustments.
Posted 11 months agoThis gym leaves a lot to be desired. While it’s open 24 hours and has a sauna, the sauna has been out of order for over a year, which is disappointing. If you’re someone who just wants to get in, work out, and leave without expecting much, it might suffice. However, a gym should provide a better experience than that. The main reason I’ve stayed is the convenience of its location near my home and the 24/7 availability. Otherwise, I would have canceled my membership long ago. The equipment is outdated, and they continue to raise membership fees without making any meaningful improvements. If you’re considering this gym, I recommend checking out other options before committing.
I cannot believe they play music out volumes higher then most concerts, I have an expensive pair of noise cancelling headphones and I still could hardly hear my own music! Or hear my friends talk to me! Horrible horrible establishment
Used to work out at UFC gym back in 2020 and changed gyms due to moving. Still occasionally popped in for a workout throughout the past few years, but I'm here to tell u that i would not recommend wasting your hard earned cash on there overpriced membership along with their gimmicky promotions. 1) a decent number of their personal trainers/coaches are out of shape + overweight + lack actual knowledge on diet/fitness (gotta lead by example imo especially when u over charging for training sessions) 2) locker rooms and gym floor extremely dirty and unhygienic (how infections spread) 3) Fitness director is a professional snake oil salesman 4) lots of broken equipment/old equipment that take forever to get fixed 5) music is too loud especially when they have there turf group workouts All of these issues stem from bad leadership/management imo. If u just trying to get a workout in, ya better off going to crunch or blink (alot cheaper)
Upon first glance, The UFC gym appears to be a fitness enthusiast's utopia. Boasting an expansive layout, the space is thoughtfully designed to cater to a variety of fitness goals, from the casual gym-goer to the hardcore kick boxers. The array of equipment available is impressive. It's a place where one can easily lose track of time. However, this seemingly perfect fitness haven harbors a less appealing reality, especially when one decides to part ways with it. The process of canceling a membership would test the patience of even the most zen-like individuals. I found myself paying for an additional month even though I canceled before the next billing date, according to their 'terms of service'. Moreover, The gym seems to have adopted a philosophy that every cent counts, but perhaps not always in the members' favor. This approach to business, while perhaps beneficial to UFC's bottom line, can leave a sour taste in the mouths of those who frequently used the gym and enjoyed it for the time being. I hope that the gym will fix its exit process so there won't be another 'me' complaining in the review section.
Great gym for training. Giving one star for poor management. Charge random money, won't open on time.
How can you run a gym and have zero soap in the men's bathroom, and zero hand sanitizer in the whole gym, all the sanitizer stations don't work. Someone needs to call the health department. It's as the staff doesn't care. Clean the bathrooms they are disgusting
Kevin the BJJ MMA coach is an absolute tool. The staff charges my friends a different price for guest pass everyday and lets some others in for free . The place is a joke . Kevin should think about shaving that raccoon off his face maybe people might take him seriously and not look at him as a clown wearing shin pads
Only reason I go here is because is convenient otherwise I wouldn't go here. Never have any soap in the bathroom, toilets always dirty and smells bad, no hand sanitizer, the sink area is constantly dirty and took them forever to fix the faucets. When I signed up I was given one price but then they started charging my account an extra $10 a month from the price that was agreed.
They sneak in charges to your account randomly through out the month. I confronted them and 3 people gave me 3 different reasons through the same computer. It’s a nice gym but they will try to suck you dry for a dollar
Terrible place. Rude to me and my daughter who is recovering from an ACL injury. Clueless staff of meat heads. And they are trying to get more money from me after I cancelled my membership. Good l luck! Find another gym!
I want to give this gym 5 stars because I've been going here since 2013, but the consistent issues that I keep running into just to have a membership are absurd. I paid for a year membership back in June of this year and was charged twice, refunded for one of them, and today when I went into the gym, they said that I canceled my membership. I'm really confused and frustrated and I just give up. I don't want to deal with this anymore They will scam you and give you a hard time; don't waste your time and money here. One of the coaches is really disrespectful and treated me very poorly. Approached me when I was working out to ask me if I thought he was a scammer still (and he is). He previously called me and cursed me out over the phone for calling him out to the staff in the gym for charging me twice for a yearly membership and not processing my original refund after 4 weeks back in July. The gym continues to promote him on their social media despite this. Very unprofessional staff. They will scam you and blame it on their computers. Bunch of fraudsters It's also surprising to me how they continue to charge exuberantly for their memberships even though the gym is dirty and in shambles. They're gonna run themselves into the ground in the next few years guarantee. From their terrible business practices to obvious scams it's surprising how they haven't been sued multiple times yet.
I was a paying member of this gym until I was told I could not help my daughter because it looked like I was training her. They said it was a liability issue even though that does not exist between a parent and child. Then they proceeded to tell me the way I dress at the gym should be changed because I look like a trainer. Spotting my daughter and giving her cues to avoid injury when squatting was deemed not okay. I was offered to pay a "trainer" to work with her at my own expense, $80 an hour. One of the "trainers", who I presume I would be paying, actually said when I informed him that my daughter was recovering from an ACL injury, "is that the shoulder?" Stay far away from this place!
Men’s bathroom severely needs repairs, sauna is still damaged, we no longer get towels like we used too, we’re getting overcharged when the gym is ONLY open 24 hours Monday through Friday, and no daycare options available🤬. What puzzles me is how come there’s no building inspector to validate that building is up to code at least every other month. So they’re collecting our money, but not honoring the contract we all signed.
I was eager to sign up for a new gym. Upon checking this place out, I saw a bunch of broken machines, their sauna was out of order, and the rook was leaking. It immediately changed my mind on signing up. After doing a bit of research, I saw that a few members were bringing this up on social media. The manager Raphael Sanchez was telling them not to post negative things about the gym on social media or he'd ban them. It looks like in fact this happened to a couple of people. This place is a dump and the manager is too
GM Raffi and his colleague Rackesh lied about pricing, deals, and gave me a false contract without telling me anything (18 months instead of the 2 years I paid for) and refused to readjust what I paid for after telling me that I’m getting the “best deal” then 2 days later offering better deals, let alone getting 4 people to sign up. Needless to say non of us will be coming back and I will be taking this up with the higher uppers.
The General Manager Rafael and Salesman Rakesh were very unprofessional and disrespectful. The staff is horrible! They think they are better than everyone else. Very unprofessional. They are actually nasty and rude. I can’t stand how they treated me and my family within the first days of signing up . This place is just money hungry. Not worth the price! They think their discounts are so good but in reality they are just ripping you off. The gym is overrated and catches people’s eyes because of the name. I am canceling my membership and definitely not going to refer this gym to anyone.
So I wanna start off with saying Rafael is a great manager and the owner is nice too. However I think the owner needs to know some issues that had occurred with the staff. The staff is horrible! They think they are better than everyone else. Very unprofessional. They are actually nasty and rude. Some of the male trainers are unprofessional and don’t know how to talk to people right. Everytime I go there no one is even working. They are very clicky and they are usually just in their little circle. I can’t stand how they treated me and my friends in the past. This place is just money hungry. Not worth the price! They think their discounts are so good but in reality they are just ripping you off. The gym is overrated and catches people’s eyes because of the name. I am canceling my membership and will be speaking to the coorperate office!
They Charged me for 6 month when I stop going over there 8 months ago. and send the bill to collection agency. They never call me to remind me that they keep charging me even I am not going there. They said there is no contract when I open up membership and they are saying that there is month to month membership contract. These people are running scam business by ripping us off. Also If you think they have good Martial arts class, you are wrong. Better go to local gyms for training. What a scam business Dana white mf who is ripping off his fighters and bag all that PPV money.
I've contacted corporate, plus the manager of this location multiple times, in an effort to cancel two gym memberships that were LITERALLY NEVER used due to the pandemic. I'm still being charged $78 monthly and now they won't return my emails. Look at how many other reviews are about money issues... Get it together before I report fraud!
Workers are like used car salesmen, they practically beg you to spend more money. Was charged an extra month after I quit my membership. They then promised me a refund but never gave it to me. They proceeded to go back on their word and argue with me for an hour on the phone. Very crowded every time I went in. Find a better gym.
So I had a prepaid membership for 3 years. Slowly the gym declined in quality. I used to be able to brush off the idea of some important pieces of equipment not being functional but it is consistantly a problem. The cleanliness of the facility is lack luster and people do not clean up after themselves. The coaches are decent but that is the only redeeming quality. Management is cliquey and the front desk associates are very disrespectful. They show simply that they do not care. I went for my last workout there and the employee at the front desk was rude and asked me. "What you dont like it here?" and "What gym is better than here." Both in a very rude demeanor. I wont be back at the UFC Gym again. Some great coaches but as a company you should re-evaluate who you hire as staff.
Terrible gym, the workers sound like used car salesmen and want every penny from you. The trainers had attitude issues and were very condescending. I was charged excessive fees that were never mentioned in my package. Parking as also a hassle too. They would always run out of towels and the machines were often broken. You’re better off going to an LA Fitness Or Planet Fitness
Dear Brent Leffel (ceo), I hope you see this review as I emailed it to you as well. As much as I like this gym for the unique variety of equipment and the 24hrs. I have been a member for over two years and whomever is the manager they are not making sure this gym is maintained well at all. First off oasis water filters at the water fountain have never been changed at all. Ridiculous! I find numerous machines with loose bolts, missing grips, and over all a dirty gym. Also lately tons of machines have been broken " under maintenance" that signs a joke lol maintaining it would help it to never be out of order but someone's not doing regular checks. Plus its taking way to long to fix machine when they break...over a month...really? On top of that I have yet to see any employees rack or organize weights. Its unfortunate people don't put the weights back after use but you guys should be on top of this as well or at least try. For what the members pay and how many of us there are (very crowded) these problems should be taking care of period. Well I doubt this will help because I'm not the first to complain but if these improve I'll be happy to change my rating.
I totally agree with most of the comments. I joined three years ago in 2015. Most of the time I workout at 3:30am (once in a while around 9am) and at the time I get there at 3am weights are always everywhere. Towels on the floors, bathrooms are always dirty and Customer Service always care about money and not customer satisfaction. It’s a shame because it can be an awesome gym, but unfortunately it’s not. I've been looking to change somewhere else, but because I live close by....I'm still there :(
Whoever says this gym is clean better wear glasses. Over the last 42 years I’ve been in gyms all over the world. I’ve been a competitive powerlifter and bodybuilder for over 30 years. In all this time I’ve never seen a gym where nobody puts their weights away and the bathrooms are constantly dirty. I joined the gym when it originally opened and have been there since. Weights and dumbbells are constantly all over the place. Nothing gets put away . Nobody seems to care. It’s a shame cause it could be a good gym if people would just keep it clean.
I had been a member of UFC for about 2 years and then changed gyms because my commute was a bit too far. BUT decided to come back after another year because I had a good experience my first time around and genuinely LOVED the gym. Second time around, I regretted every second. Very bad customer service. Disrespectful staff. I came in to sign up and one of the guys was condescending to me the entire time I was signing up. That should have been enough for me to walk away, but I gave it a chance. Then, when I was trying to cancel my membership, I called to try and work around cancelling the membership kindly. I understood that they had a policy where you had to come into the gym in order to cancel, but I was unable to do so because I was so far. It was the WORST process ever. I should have just taken the super long commute and come in. I was told to email someone so that it could be rectified, and two months in a row, they charged me. I tried contacting them MULTIPLE times, and received no answer. I was completely ignored and they continued taking my money, when I wasn't using my membership. And they KNOW me because I was constantly trying to contact them. So they purposefully ignored me. If that isn't bad service, I don't know what is. They didn't even have the decency to reply, but continued to take money from me. And on top of all the things I was dealing with at the time, I had to deal with cancelling my debit card in order to stop getting my money stolen from them. And the fact that I STILL haven't received any response, just leaves me here with a negative review. And now, I am hesitant about all UFC locations because of this experience. Also - if you don't mind waiting like 30 minutes extra to find parking, then this is the gym for you. Because they NEVER have parking. Overall - they had great equipment. But a rotten banana in a gold shell is still rotten. I DO NOT recommend this gym.
Three friends and I went to this gym to sign up for a free trial. Upon entering the gym together, they immediately split us up to talk to different sales guy. My guy was decent and I signed up for a trial. My other friends went to a different sales guy who denied them a trial membership that they clearly advertise on their website and in print. So they ask for a group discount because we're all signing up together... This is the part that sounds unbelievable!! The guy goes "I don't care if you suck his d**k or my d**k, you're not getting a discount!" At that point we were furious and walked out of the gym. I tried calling my sales guy several times that day to cancel the trial because I wouldn't be going to that gym anymore but he wouldn't pick up. So I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and they keep hanging up on them too when they tried to contact the UFC gym to discuss my dispute. A fair waiting to the attitude and the type of people who work here and good luck canceling your memberships for those who currently attend the gym.
