  I can't say enough positive things about my Jiu Jitsu experience at Thompson Jiu Jitsu Academy. I started BJJ here about a year ago and it has been an incredibly challenging but very rewarding journey so far. The camaraderie between the students, the intensity of the workouts, and Dave's depth of knowledge as an instructor have kept me coming back. I continue to be impressed by the collaborative and supportive learning environment, and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering a martial arts gym in the Leaside / Midtown / Davisville Village area. Don't be intimated, come train with us! Great work Dave, you got me hooked.

  Dave is an amazing coach. Thompson Jiu Jitsu Academy provides a great environment for students to discover how they can safely challenge themselves and learn. Expectations are clear and the level of coach interaction ensures that each student gets to build their skills in a focussed way. The experience at TJJ has helped to build my child’s athleticism, focus, and resilience.

  At first I was sceptical about juijitsu however after a friend invited me to a first free class I fell in love with the sport. Since then in a short period of three months I’ve won 2 gold medals in 2 different tournaments, met the amazing people that go there and over all had a great time. The head coach David Thompson is very experienced and teaches people EXTREMELY well. The people that go there are very nice and will always assist in solving any questions and problems you will face.

  Last year BJJ sparked my interest. I started looking for a club/academy to train in and I tried several clubs before finding this amazing academy. What I wanted from a BJJ club I found here: Structured training program, very knowledgeable coach who really pays attention to you, a friendly caring bunch and tremendously clean facility. David is really good at teaching, he’s old school and to the point, he teaches you exactly what you need. The training program is really easy to follow. Everyone is very humble and good hearted, the energy is just on point! Lastly, I really like how clean and hygienic this club is. Thank you for all you do David 👍

  Absolutely the best place to train in town!!! Dave is a straight shooter, and I love that about him very much. Everyone who comes here makes you feel very welcoming!
