Decent gym and good grappling done yesterday, theirs so much to learn from club!

Top-notch instruction! Thetford MMA & BJJ Studio is led by Professor Lee Doski. He is a retired Professional MMA fighter and a pioneer of MMA in the UK who also holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in BJJ under Carlson Gracie Jr. He expertly shares his deep understanding of striking and grappling perfectly that focuses on technical skill development without unnecessary risks, making it a great place for adults and children to train safely. Lee’s enthusiastic and contagious energy is conducive to creating a safe and encouraging learning environment for people to develop discipline, confidence, and resilience. It is the best place to train in the Norfolk/Suffolk area and I highly recommend this place to anyone! 🥋👊
I joined Lee's team as a purple belt just over a year ago after relocating to Norfolk from London, the team have made me feel very welcome and the level of knowledge not just from the coaches but other students willing to share is awsome. Awesome club! My son had been coming for a year and a half to do junior jiu jitsu and it's been great for his confidence, his learning and his coordination. Lee is fantastic with the kids, perfect mix of entertaining, motivating and knowledgeable, and his deputies are equally enthusiastic and competent. They really have the kids' development, safety and enjoyment at heart. It's a really popular place for a good reason. Wouldn't send my boy anywhere else 👍
My 7-year-old absolutely loves attending this jiu jitsu club. The coaches (Lee & Wayne) strike the perfect balance between being really fun and keeping firm, clear boundaries, which creates such a positive and respectful environment for the kids. They are fantastic role models and a real inspiration — teaching not just jiu jitsu, but also confidence, discipline, resilience, and respect for others. Toby looks forward to every session and has grown so much both physically and mentally since joining. The coaches are gifted in the way that they anre with the kids. It’s clear that they care about the children and their development, and they manage to make every class engaging, motivating, and age-appropriate. I couldn’t recommend this club more highly for any parent looking for a supportive, encouraging, and well-run jiu jitsu programme for kids.
I've trained at Carlson Gracie Norfolk for over 3 years now, and trained with Lee on and off for years, and he is amazing at motivation, explaining technique, and has a huge depth of both martial arts and life knowledge to share. The facilities are top notch, always clean and have been steadily upgrading. By far the best thing about this club are the people. Lee has an ability to attract and retain a wide range of great people who all add to the diverse, competitive, supportive and friendly atmosphere of the gym. For myself personally, the club had been a huge part of my development as a person as well as a martial artist. If you're looking for a mental and physical challenge, with top level, friendly instruction, I could not recommend the club more.
This is a great BJJ gym. The instructors are excellent and the mats are spotlessly clean. Everyone is very welcoming so if you’re thinking of taking up the sport or are moving to the area you would struggle to find a better place to train!
Posted 1 year agoThanks for making me feel so welcome , came from Colchester on holiday here came for 3 sessions , and all occasions I was made to feel very welcome and off course I learned so much, would love to come and join this gym if I lived closer.
Posted 1 year agoSuch a fantastic facility with great tutors. I originally enrolled my children here, and from sitting in on their lessons I felt compelled to start BJJ myself. As a female coming into a male dominated sport, it can be daunting, but I've been made to feel very welcome by everyone 😊 Highly recommend 👌🏼 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Posted 1 year agoAll four of our children have attended for a couple of years now moving from a different area. 11year old won gold in the world championships, it’s helped with their discipline and fitness. 100% recommend this friendly, professional gym for all ages!
Posted 1 year agoThetford MMA & Fitness Studio is a fantastic hidden gem in Thetford providing expert instruction in MMA, BJJ and lots more from an instructor that has led from the front in the UK scene since it began. I can’t recommend this gym enough for anyone who wants to learn more about striking, grappling or wrestling. Fantastic for all ages from tiny to old :)
