The biggest Judo Club in Belfast Northern Ireland. Based in Belfast and Lisburn, The Judo Academy community clubs are hosted in Glenavy, Lagan Valley, and Glengormley, and provide after schools clubs in 4 primary schools. Judo lessons are from beginners to international level.
Great club for all ages and fitness levels. All the coaches are great at understanding everyone's limitations but also push you to get the most out of yourself. As a parent of a 12 year-old on the mats and a participant myself, I can't recommend the Judo Academy enough! Keep us the excellent work.
Posted 1 year agoId highly recommend the Judo Academy. Both my sons attend and my oldest has been there for 6 years - over that time I've seen his confidence grow year on year. Stephen and Anne-Marie and all the coaches provide a friendly, warm and safe environment while teaching skills for life as well as transferable skills - Ive seen my younger son do judo rolls on the football pitch lol while my older son has also been able to apply his skills to school rugby. A great club!

The team of fully qualified coaches are dedicated to bringing out the best in every student, going above and beyond to teach the highest level of judo. I’ve been a member for the past ten years under my head Coach Stephen McCluskey. I can’t speak highly enough of his coaching ability and his way of bringing out the best in all his students. I can’t wait until my daughter starts her Judo journey with Stephen, the whole coaching team & the Judo Academy. All of the team’s commitment to building confidence and promoting good sportsmanship is evident in everything they do. With numerous locations, they make it convenient for everyone to join and benefit from their high quality training. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, the Judo Academy Lisburn is the perfect place to grow and excel in judo.
Posted 1 year agoSuch an amazing group of people to spend time with each week!! Joined myself as a novice after seeing how much enjoyment my 8 yr old son & 10 yr old daughter got out of their time on the mats and have never looked back. I’ve seen them grow in confidence throughout their time there and make some good friends along the way. The knowledgeable coaches teach in such a positive manner and always have time for myself and the kids. Couldn’t recommend this club enough.
Posted 1 year agoMy son Adam has been with this fantastic club for almost 12 years. Great club with brilliant coaches who only want the best for all the players. They devote a lot of time and energy to make sure everyone achieves their potential. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in enrolling their children in a marital art. We love you guys!
