Great fun, glad I joined, brilliant value for money!
Great atmosphere here. Coaches are very knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions.
Absolutely amazing!! My little boy has just started who struggles a lot with focusing and staying still but the staff are so patient with him and absolutely amazing would highly recommend🤩
Everyone was very welcoming and all wanted to help you out. Ritchie is a top coach and is always looking to explain everything in detail if you don’t get something. Great setup looking foward to going back.
My son goes here and really enjoys it. The coaches are brilliant with the kids — really patient, supportive and good at making the classes fun. It’s been a really positive experience for us, and I’d definitely recommend The Jiu-Jitsu Academy Castleford to other parents.
Outstanding gym. Outstanding people. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re treated like part of the team. The instructors are exceptional - highly skilled, patient, and genuinely invested in helping every student improve, regardless of experience. They take the time to explain techniques properly, create a positive learning environment, and push you to become the best version of yourself. The facilities are first class: spotless, bright, modern, and exceptionally well maintained. Every session is run professionally and the atmosphere is second to none. What really sets this gym apart, though, is the culture. The members are friendly, respectful, and incredibly supportive. Whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the very first time or you’re an experienced practitioner, you’ll be welcomed, encouraged, and made to feel like you belong. If you’re looking for a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym that combines world-class coaching, outstanding facilities, and an amazing community, stop looking - you’ve found it. Highly recommended.
My two boys, aged 7 and 6, attended their first lesson at TJA yesterday, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The coaches were excellent – highly professional, knowledgeable, and organised, while also being approachable, friendly, and great with children. They made both boys feel welcome and comfortable from the moment they arrived. Most importantly, my boys absolutely loved the session and haven’t stopped talking about it since. They are already asking when they can go back and can’t wait for their next class! The academy is also very reasonably priced, with a fantastic family discount available. Access is easy, and the off-street parking is a real bonus for parents. Overall, a fantastic first experience. I would highly recommend TJA to any parent looking for a professional, friendly, and welcoming Jiu Jitsu academy for their children.

5 stars from Norway 🇳🇴 We got invited to host a few workshops at TJA and were satisfied with the facility we arrived to, and the hospitality we received! The mats are very clean, the building is full of light, and the people are very kind and welcoming. Thanks for the great sessions and congratulations on the your work you do! The coaching is next level and the students are talented, dedicated and helpful training partners! Can’t wait til we are back!

Great gym! I’ve only been training here for 2 weeks, but everyone has been really welcoming and helpful. The coaches explain things clearly and make it easy to follow along, even as a beginner. Really enjoying it so far!
I started my Jiu-Jitsu journey earlier on this year with TJA and I have never once looked back. This place is very professional and you will get the best of the best coaching by Ritchie. They welcome all levels of experience. They also have classes for the children which makes it ideal for families. Your first session is free of charge so if you’re ever curious like I once was, I highly recommend you come in and give it a go. It will make a massive difference in your life and your fitness.
