Fantastic place, great for all levels of experience. Kids classes, women only classes, gi and no gi. I always look forward to going And I always have a good time. Great coaches with plenty of time and patience to work with everyone. I've been going for 8 months now. my fitness, confidence and anxieties have all improved.
Rollers Jiu Jitsu is an outstanding place to train. The level of instruction is genuinely top-tier, and Amy Derwanz stands out as an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable coach. Her attention to detail, ability to break techniques down clearly, and high-level understanding of the game make every session valuable, whether you're a beginner or more experienced. The atmosphere is just as impressive as the coaching. There’s a really positive, welcoming vibe on the mats, with a strong sense of community and support. Everyone pushes each other to improve, but in a way that feels motivating rather than intimidating. If you’re looking for high-level jiu jitsu combined with a great training environment, Rollers is hard to beat.
Rollers JJ is absolutely spotlessly clean whenever I’ve visited. Everyone is really friendly too! The head coach Amy is brilliant, she doesn’t just teach a bunch of moves but explains the concepts behind why they work - it’s clear she really knows her stuff and is an active competitor too - so she’s putting stuff to the test under high pressure! Really easy to travel to as it’s literally a 5 minute walk from the train station in Normanton too. Definitely a little hidden gem of a BJJ gym.
Such a welcoming, supportive gym! Amy is down to earth and has so much knowledge (and patience 😅) to support everyone with what may work best for them as individuals.. plus the queen rollers camps are so much fun! Amazing place for everyone and very supportive of any accessibility needs. Worth the trip and will deffo be back as often as possible 🖤👾
Amy is amazing! Amy has such high level knowledge and experience and is fantastic at sharing that and getting it across. Would highly recommend for seasoned grapplers and beginners alike! Great facilities and atmosphere. Amy really has built something special. You won’t regret it 🙌 If you’re getting your kids into grappling, you really couldn’t be in better hands!
