I Jason the owner of Academy through my coach when I moved to Nashville and I train with them some Sundays during open mat. Jason and their entire team made me feel welcomed and a part of the crew. Such a great facility and have an awesome pro shop as well as a recovery facility on site. I truly enjoy getting down with them. If you’re looking for a place in millersville area this is the place you want to go. They offer other classes too. Just go in ready to become a part of something great. I’m thankful to train with them when I can.

My name is David Wells, I'm the founder of Jiu Jitsu of Middle TN. a private facebook page that has over 1500 Jiu Jitsu practitioners throughout Middle TN. One of my responsibilities is to keep everyone updated about Jiu JItsu, good or bad. I highly recommend The Academy in Goodlettsville & Greenbrier, and I'm happy to say, this is my home where I train, I prepare for competition, and more importantly where I build long lasting relationships. I know professor Jason Matherly as a high level competitor, instructor, father to his kids, husband to his wife and a great friend to be there at anytime.

I arrived at the Academy in 2016 after I had moved in from out of town. I had been training JiuJitsu for eight years when I arrived and was looking for a place that had exceptional instruction and a family friendly atmosphere. The academy exceeded my expectations in both of those areas. I’ve achieved, and exceeded, what I thought was possible for me in JiuJitsu because of the coaches and training partners at the Academy. More important than that I been accepted into a community that’s produced life long friends that are like family to not only myself, but my entire family. It’s truly a special place full of exceptional people. I can not recommend the Academy high enough to anyone that is looking to better themselves physically or mentally.

This is the best place to train. My kids and myself have found Professor Jason and the staff to be both knowledgeable and personable. I feel that they care that we are actually learning the techniques. If you’re looking for a real legit place to learn this is it. If you’re looking for a place that hands out belts because you paid your membership even if you haven’t learned anything this isn’t the place for you. This is a real martial arts school that produces real results.

When we moved and were trying to find a new home and Jason and Alexis at The Academy welcomed us with open arms. With classes for every level, it is perfect for beginners and advanced bjj practitioners. We love our training partners and coaches. It is def our second home.

The Academy is a wonderful gym with friendly and experienced trainers. My entire family loves going there. The instructors know what they are doing and their teaching style is very effective for beginners, or more experienced BJJ students. Highly recommend them!

The Academy is a wonderful place for anyone who wants to get in shape or learn to defend themselves. There are classes for kids and adults, striking classes as well as jiu jitsu/grappling, and cardio mma classes for folks who just want to get some exercise in with no contact. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly and very much a second home. I've been training here for almost three years and wouldn't know what to do without it. If you've ever thought about doing martial arts, but felt uncomfortable or nervous about starting, start now and start here.
